Average number of times you go to WDW now that you own DVC?

We had started going every year before we knew there was a DVC. After we joined in 1994, we have continued our every year trip but at a fraction of the cost. We had planned to skip our trip this year and go to MB. Would you believe that all of us, and there is 12, decided we couldn't miss a year without "Mickey". We changed our plans and booked for this May as always. A vacation just isn't a vacation without Mickey and Minnie!

Our pattern is 2 trips a year 8-12 nights each trip. If airfare is good and I have points left, I try to get in a 3rd trip. Usually doesn't happen though. :sad2:
We enjoy May and either October or December. Did Spring Break once and won't make that mistake again.

In recent years we have tended to go 3 times in one calendar year and then take a break of 6-10 months off before starting the process again. Right now we are in a "3 trip" year, and are actually only planning a 3 month break before starting next year's trips.

We have tended to go for 10 or more days a trip, but this year our second and third trips will each be a week and our first trip of the year was 11 days. It comes down to vacatino time that is committed to other things sometimes!;)

Hey Gang,

In looking at some of the pictures of various resorts, I started wondering....how many times DVC'ers usually travel to WDW.

If you go multiple times in a year, is it usually a week, 2 weeks, or several shorter trips?

It varies. We do all different times of year, all different sizes.

We were there a week in December, and this last trip we drove down saturday morning and drove back monday night.

(we don't mind the 14hr round trip, obviously ;))

If we feel like going, we go (that's usually short trips) and we have "big" vacations that we plan very far in advance with friends and family (ie december).

We average 2 or 3 times a year but have gone as many as 4 times. I would go more often but my DH does not get the leave I get and I feel guilty when I go too often without him!

Average twice a year. Usually five nights per trip, but it varies. So far the only set pattern is a trips shortly after DD gets out of school in June. A little over two years from now when she graduates HS that will change.

Sometimes we go once a year and sometimes we go twice for 7 days. Jan we go for Parents only trip and then Sept we go as a family. As the kids get bigger we may have to start going once a year so we can get a 1 or 2 bedroom instead of the studio. I have never asked but are there two studios joined together? We have no use for the kitchen because Mom is on vacation also and let Disney do the cooking for me.

No studios are joined together. I do think that they would be a popular option. There are some internal connecting Inn rooms at VB...don't know if HH has some too.

Prior to being a DVC member we only went 1 X per year and even skipped a few years once in a while. We typically spent 6-7 nights when we would go to WDW.

Now that we are DVC members...we usually go 1-2 X's per year and stay anywhere from 7-10 nights.

We might be different than some others on this board, we use our DVC for other vacations besides just WDW all the time. We go to HHI just about every year, we cruise quite often (probably in 10 years as members we have gone on 10 cruises), we exchange out for II or now will be RCI and made one trip to Vero Beach.

So bottom line, we vacation A LOT more than we use to before we became members. Can you tell why I love my DVC membership so much???

Before we became DVC members, we went every other year for a week since we were married. When we first joined in 2002, we were going once a year for about 10-12 nights. In 2007, we started going 2 times a year for 14 nights each.:cool1:

(4 weeks a year is the max for us since that is the total vacation time we have per year.:sad1: )

We live 80 miles from Disney, we go about 6 to 8 times. We just call and take what is open. I am self employed and can travel when I want. We own at OKW and SSR.

One year we went 4 times... for us, that was too much. One trip was 9 days, it was suppose to be a 10 day trip, we actually had enough... came home early. Since then 2 to 3 trips at 3-5 days each. This keeps it new to me. We travel to other places besides Disney. I hate to be typeset. This year it will be 2 trips but one is 8 days...2 resorts. We are taking a 7 day Disney cruise this Aug with all the family. I am really looking forward to this. :goodvibes

We still go just once a year in the summer. One of these years we hope to go at holiday time too. We actually stay in Florida for 3 weeks, but 5-6 of those days are spent elsewhere like The Keys, gulf coast, Crystal River, St. Augustine, etc.

Two trips at year -October for 10 days and May for 7-8 days. I hate winter and have been known to book a 5-6 day emergency get away trip if the snow and cold weather gets to me too much and I need some Disney magic.

Two Su-Th trips per year. One for F&G and one for F&W. Every 2-3 yrs we add early Dec trip to enjoy decorations, Candlelight Processional, and Osborne Lights.

Within a calendar year, I try to get 4-5 weeks in total. I book studios only, use APs, and await Dings or "specials" for low airfares. The longer trips tend to be in January, and I will vary either F & G or F & W each year. People not-in-the-know :rolleyes1 don't understand that going to WDW is the cheapest vacation I could take! :thumbsup2

We usually vacation in Orlando three to four times a year. We also own with Marriott, so our trips are split between DVC and Marriott, and occasionally a Sheraton Vistana trip. Every once in a while I throw a Hilton Head trip in instead of an Orlando trip.

We vacation in January, March, May, and September/October. Our total cost for our trips (flights, lodging, and transportation) average around $3,800 a year total. We can vacation four times a year for what a lot of people would spend on one vacation.

Next week will be our Marriott trip (no DVC this trip). We'll have units at Marriott's Imperial Palms, Marriott Cypress Harbour, and Vistana Villages as we have a large family group on this particular trip. I'll have to go visit Saratoga, though, and eat a flat bread pizza to visit my DVC home. And of course, I"ll be in the parks using my annual pass.

We're averaging 3 trips a year, with at least one of those trips being HHI. My plan for the future is 1 trip to WDW (alternating every other year between VWL and AKV) and 2 trips to HHI every year, with occasionally reversing the plan.
