Availibility of different room types.

Hi, still doing my research because we are trying to decide if we want to buy into DVC. My question is about the availibility of room types. Right now, we would mostly be interested in Studios since it is two of us. However, when we have a family, we would probably be more interested in One-bedrooms. Are any of these categories harder to get than others?

Also, right now we will only need 150 points. However, as we start a family, we may consider purchasing more points. Can you always purchase more points at your home resort once you are a DVC member, or do they sell out when all the memberships are sold out? Thanks so much in advance. The more information I gather, the more questions I think of!

I own at OKW, and truthfully have never had a problem getting the room type I want...but I almost always book within my priority window. AS long as you use your window at your home resort, there probably won't be too many problems. But book as early as possible for holiday and lower point seasons (like early December).

When a resort sells out, DVC may have some points available, they would be the ones they get back via their "Right of First Refusual" on resale contracts. However, you can almost always find something to fill your needs through a resale broker.
