How is availiability of a 2-BR villa at your home resort at the 11-month point, or at the 7-month point at another resort? Our family would need a room this size due to the number and ages of our children. We would only be going during Adventure, Choice, or Dream season. Thanks.

I always book 2br's. Never had a problem getting one at 11 months at SSR for Thanksgiving or one at VB for Easter. I waitlisted for about a month and got VWL(went on list in early December, came through at end of month for a May trip).

For MLK 2008(can't wait  ). I did the 7 month switch and got BCV. One call and got one of the 1queen/1sofabed 2br's.

Now I'm on the phone at 9am right when my windows open(11 or 7 months). Especially important for major holidays. Invest in a speakerphone when buying DVC or any timeshare!;)

If you book your home resort at the 11 month window you will seldom (if ever) have a problem getting a 2 bedroom unit. The only times you may have a problem will involve one of the "specialty" units or views. Examples of those would be concierge at AKV, standard or guaranteed Boardwalk view at BWV & the dedicated 2 bedroom units at BCV that have two actual beds in the second bedroom.

Booking at 7 months is a different story - depends on the resort and exactly when you plan to visit. For example, getting a 2 bedroom in early December at the VWL is very difficult if you must use the 7 month window. Getting into one of the EPCOT resorts is difficult if you plan to visit during the last 3 months of the year. (The "specialty units" are very seldom available at the 7 month window). Those who are most often successful at the 7 month mark usually call day by day for the reservation and are willing to waitlist for the days individually if they are not successful on the first call.

January (after Marathon Weekend), May and September are the easiest months to book at 7 months . Summertime is easier than Fall or Spring Break time.

HTH.

We always get what we want in 2 bedrooms at OKW. I prefer the dedicateds because of the extra storage space. Never had an issue even on shorter than 7 month booking for Adventure season.

If it helps, we were just able to book a 2 br pool/garden view at the Boardwalk (our home resort) at just under 11 months out (Nov 30-Dec 5th). Good luck!

I've booked a 2 bdrm (BCV) at the 11 month window with no problems for our last 3 trips. I booked at 5 months and was waitlisted for a 2 bdrm (BCV) and the waitlist came through.

I was able to book a dedicated 2 bedroom at SSR yesterday for July with no problems.:thumbsup2 I realize this may not be that tough since SSR is so big but I thought I would relay my experience.

We go often during the times you mentioned. I have only been on a waitlist once (I was booking a last minute trip, something like a month out and had to waitlist 2 nights), and it came through. And the only villa I COULD get for that trip was a 2BR. :)

The only time I have called day by day at 11 months was for a 2BR AKV concierge for October, since there are only 5 of them.

However, 2 weeks later, I was able to book a concierge studio at a little over 7 months for July. :)

During the seasons you mentioned, the only time I would be worried about would be October, if I was trying to stay at the BW or BC and did not own there and had to call at 7 months. Even then, I would not think it is a lost cause, I just personally would probably try to do a day by day for that (but I am neurotic). :)
