Availability & gambling

I am always calling member services to find out availability for my short notice trip. I have worked out very complex algorithms dealing with points and where I would stay and other combinations. I call alot...and availability changes alot. I just need to ask - does anyone else call as much as I do?

Also, I am waitlisted -- supposedly by day -- but when I called to check availability today, one of the nights in the resort I waitlisted was available. I not sure I understand this whole waitlist thing. Does the change just occur if the room is left at the end of the day?

Last would anyone take this gamble -- I have 3 nights at the BW (2bdr) -sat, sun, mon depart tues. The next available night is the thurs night. Would you take the thurs nite and hope for tues and wed or too much of a gamble? Let me know what you think.

The trip is 7/8 thru 7/14 so i am running out of time.

I had to postpone our June trip to July within a 7 day window... but I don't think that is very common. If you don't have the room by now, I doubt you're going to get it...

What are your other options? For Thanksgiving, I could only get a OKW GV for Sun-Tues nights, we had to move to CBR for Wed and Thurs nights. Of course, CBR was "our resort" before we became DVC, so DD18 didn't mind one bit.

Then again, MS came up with two studio nights for me when DH and I decided last Thursday to fly to FL for the shuttle launch. When I first called, there were no studios available anywhere. I waitlisted any studio at all, and by Monday had two nights at BWV (one night I even had a choice of preferred or BW view!). Here's pixie dust that it comes through for you!
