availability for 4.... none for 2.

So our upcoming trip is just my spouse and I.

For our garden grill reservation there is tons of availability for 4 people and absolutely none for 2 people. I went ahead and booked for 4 people.

Like why is it like this?

Do I need to call to explain its just 2 of us? Just show up and be like "the rest of our party couldn't come.."

Or should we just not book there? Obviously I don't want to take a reservation away from someone, but still. I'm paying to be there too!

You can reserve for four, then go back into the reservation and change to a party of two; there should be no problem. That happens all the time.

Or call - tell them your friends can't make it!

If you can't modify just let them know when you check in. There's no penalty.

It's the wonky booking algorithm. Just book for 4 people, you'll be fine.

I’m usually solo and have to book for two a lot. I just explain at the check-in kiosk and have never had a problem or been charged a no-show fee.

They know it is a glitch in the system - especially for ‘Ohana. I have spoken with numerous CMs and they all say as long as someone shows up there is no fee. The fee is only if NO ONE shows up.

That is strange - I had the same thing happen, but never had it happen before. It looks like you have good advice from others, so you should have no issues.

You're fine - we do it all the time. When they ask "party of 4?" I respond with "Just 2 of us today!"

I don't know why the system is so wonky :/
