autograph books - which one?

I'm trying to order an autograph book along with a pen online so I can have it before we go (just one less thing to do down there!). I've seen several sites with them. But I have a couple questions:

- which ones do you recommend?
- do they have pages for each character (ie - a specific page for Cinderella, another for Goofy, etc)? Or are they just blank pages?

I"m looking for the "best" one. To be honest, i'm not too worried about the autographs themselves - but just figure it's a good tool to get the "oh my gosh" look from the kids when obtaining the autographs, and then of course asking them to "pose" with the characters also.

Any recommendations? I'd like to get a Princess cover unless there is another one that is "must have".

Thanks.

The autograph books that you buy in the stores do not have pages for each character, but there is a pink Princess one (as well as a red Mickey one and a green Tink one) that has an insert for a photograph with a blank page next to it. Sometimes you have to combine autographs on the same page if you run out of pages though (which tends to happen more with the photo insert books).

There are also standard autograph books that just have blank pages in them (no photo inserts), and these have more pages than them, too.

As for pens, I recommend getting any good ballpoint pen (make sure it has ink before you let the characters sign with it) or a standard Sharpie.

If you have any other questions about autographs books, please feel free to ask or PM me! I'd love to help out. :)

I won't be much help I'm afraid. (I just hate to see messages going unanswered-been there:sad2: ) Anywho...I plan on getting one DS the red Mickey, in the Merlin hat :smickey: , one and my other the POTC, pirate: with the compass on the front. These are both autograph/photograph books, which gives you pages for autographs and a place to slide in co-ordinating photo of your child posing with the character who has signed the book. This style also comes in a pink princess one princess: . The book is strong and sturdy with a hard cover, just bring along an elastic band to wrap around and keep your page!

What I have done instead of buying the standard autograph book, is to go to a craft store and buy a small spiral bound scrapbook for about $4. Then I try to have the character sign one one page, leaving the page next to it blank so I can add a photo of DD with the character. When we are done, we have a mini photo album of each of her disney trips!

I also like the spiral because we can open it to the page we want - I find the autograph books are hard to keep open. I can also hook the pen into the spiral so we are less likely to loose it in our bag. The scrapbook paper is also more like cardstock. so much more durable.

Either way, it is a fun way to interact with the characters.

I had this pink princess book that you are referring to for my girls last year. There are not a ton of pages, so I thought that the characters would just have to share pages. The problem is that they see these big blank pages and sign their name really big and it takes up the entire page. I just didn't have the heart to boss Cinderella or Mickey around by asking them to write smaller!

as for pens.. the characters loved my various-colored clicky sharpies!
They were really easy for them. and some loved clicking them!
:)

This trip I had 2 autograph books. The first one I found at Hallmark. It has pages on one side for stories from the trip. On the other side is a place for a photo & autograph.

The second I bought was index cards that were held together by a ring. It had lots of pages for autographs & the characters had fun picking their favorite color of index card to sign on.

Depending on how soon your iminent trip is I would recommend making a personalized one! I know it sounds like "OK, hard. Not enough hours in the day." But it really is a fun activity that gets your kids excited (and also makes them feel part of the planning process).

You can get a 4x6 or other size note book at most any craft store. What you want is one with a nice cardboard (or heavy weight cardstock) front and back. Loosen the wire holding the notebook in place, and remove. Keep all the parts close at hand! (Had this happen: Lost the wire! GAH!) If your front or back is blank this can work to your advantage as you can just cover one side. If not get some decorative Disney paper or colorful cardstock and cut to fit. Adhere with glue (Scrapbook glue strips, strip adhesive works best!), then use a small hole punch to cut holes in the cardstock (find this much easier as the holes are lined up with the original front.)

The fun part is having your kids put on stickers, foam letters for their names, Character stickers you name it. You can also detail one (much cheaper than individual stickers and foam letters) on the computer and adhere that to the front! Then take those stickers and make those character pages! As for the pens, We actually had more problems with the Disney pen that came with our book than was worth the price! Again, get a cheap Bic and play around with it. If it's small enough you can get a Mickey Head attena topper for the top and make it your own!

Best of luck and have fun!

try this link www.disneysmilesstore.com - I just purchased 3 today through ebay, and also 3 lanyards. she discounted the shipping since i ordered more than one:thumbsup2 item. She seems to have a big selection, and I got the autograph books that come with the pen for around 6 dollars each.

I did not want to be stuck in the stores when we first get to disney world, so I ordered them ahead of time.

thanks for all the replies! Glad I "bumped" it back up to the front page. Greatly appreciate it. Not sure which direction we'll go in yet, but with all the info and ideas here, we're bound to get something that will work!

Thanks again!
