Hi Guys -

Man, I could really use some help from some crafting experts.....:worship:

DD and I want to make autograph books for all of her cousins to use during out big Family trip in October.

I figured I would just cut the paper to size, decorate a sheet as a "custom cover", but then how do I bind it? I think someone here suggested Kinko's? Any other way to do it?

Also, how do I protect the cover (with all the cute 3d stickers and embellishments) from getting bent when the kids take it in and out of their backpacks?

Any and all suggestions would be really appreciated! :flower3:

what about making it 4X6 cards and buying a photo album to put it in.

Asw for the cover page, I normally only add it when we get back home . i've done the mistake of taking it down once and I was very disappointed to see it destroy soo fast.

I like the card idea - then the kids won't need all the cards, every day. The ones that are complete can be left back in the room.

Another thing that might work are the spiral bound 'books' of index cards, especially if you can get 4 x 6.

Pocket albums to hold 4 x 6 photos can often be found in the dollar store. They'd hold the cards and the photos.

I would lamaite(sp??) the cover - I'm planning on doing mine that way. Staples sells rings that you can use - think of the 3 ring binders but without the book part - they look great with ribbon tie on them. or you could buy a "bind it all" (otherwise known as a BIA) I don't remember if it is Micheals or Hobby Lobby that sells it & you can bind it yourself.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the heads up - I would be heartbroken to see the books damaged while they were used.

I'm feeling like this isn't going to be the way to go. The cousins come from all over the country and I wanted to give them something on Day 1 so get them into the vibe....

I shall rethink this - regroup - and return! :thumbsup2

you might giving them index cards to get signed then having books to put them in - put it so they don't have to carry around the books since they would be heavy after awhile & parents don't want to carry all of them

Thanks for all your feedback, guys. I decided to just do an autograph book for DD because if it falls apart, we can repair it ourselves pretty easily. She is 10, so I know she will care for it more responsibly then my under age 5 crew of nephews and nieces.

She is a big Pokemon fan, so we incorporated them into the Mickey Heads. Here is our finished product:

Very cute! I've bought the same sketch book to make an autograph/memory book. I still can't figure out what to do with it tho. I've cute over 40 Cricut characters out but don't know how to finish the book off. I love your cover.

Your book is AWESOME!

A suggestion for the other children...you could purchase a flip photo album
($1 from Michaels or ACMoore -- you know the onese that have 20 or so pages) and decorate the cover...
Then you have the characters just sign the clear pocket with a retractable sharpie...when they get home, mom or dad can add the picture with that character behind the signature!
Just a suggestion...
