Autograph Book Help!

Hi all! My kids will be 5 when we travel to WDW next month. They wanted to collect autographs this trip (we usually just do pictures and OCCASIONALLY get a few signatures).

I purchased these cards from Etsy:

There are about 60 characters we could possibly encounter.

I was wondering the best way to carry these cards (120 of them). I was thinking I would just pull the ones for the park we are going to that day and maybe carry them in one of those mini photo albums that fit 4x6 pictures (the pictures are a little smaller than that).

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this without taking up too much time/space.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

there are some characters like Sulley and Mike that don't do autographs, so there is no point in carrying those cards.. but what about the odd characters that you are not expecting to meet in the park.. it would be hard to guess who you could run into on each day... hard decision!!

There's a site that has a list of the characters, and where you can find them for autographs; Kennythepirate dot com. I'd check that out and spilt the cards up by each park, like you were thinking.

I can't see your pic so I don't know how big the cards are, but I made 5x7 cards for autographs. I carried them in a box that Christmas cards came in. Also had a small clipboard that I would put the card on then hand to character.

I do subscribe to Kenny The Pirate's character locator. I know there can be surprises, but some I know for sure (we will only see Anna and Elsa in MK, I can eliminate certain characters that I know will be at character meals, etc.).

I'm just trying to figure out the best way to store the cards/markers and get them in and out without too much hassle.

Have you thought about taking them to a copy store like Kinkos or Fedex and having them bound into a book? It is fairly inexpensive to do.

We bought scrapbook cardstock from Hobbylobby last year when it was on sale. The big multicolor / pattern sets they have. I think they are 4" x 6". I let the kids decoarete them with stickers and stuff and then took them to Kinkos and had them bound. It worked really well. And it was only a few dollars a book to do.

I'd suggest getting some pre-cut colored cardstock like that and mixing a few sheets in with the character cards you already have incase you encounter characters that you don't have a picture for. This would also give you room to add notes or photographs. Then go have it all bound together. This way you don't have to worry about keeping up with a million different cards. With my luck, I'd end up leaving the character I needed at home that day if they were all loose like that or loosing them.

If you end up not using some of the cards, it would be really easy later to just tear those cards out. With the platic spiral binding, it's the same as a school notebook, so not hard to remove extra pages later.

I've made autograph books the last 2 times we went. My advice is to group them in the book together..all the main characters(Mickey,Minnie etc), princesses, disney jr characters, think and fairies, then the rest. Like another poster said, some characters it's harder to get autographs so that's up to you and how big a fan you child is. I've bound mine with silver rings I got at hobby lobby, and last time I just used Christmas ribbon. Then always attach a black sharpie with ribbon since that's easiest for them to hold!

It was great to have the characters sign on their page. We met 24 characters during our 6 days at the parks. What's nice about the book is that there's something to read to occupy them in line. Kids standing near our girls were always looking over their shoulder, too, so my girls shared with them. There are trivia questions on each page, and when the photographer was there, but the characters still hadn't arrived from their break, my girls had such a great time quizzing the photographer on Disney trivia.

Lots of parents commented on what a great idea it was to have the book signed instead of a traditional autograph book. It's not too large or heavy to carry.
