Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Thanks Mel, I appreciate the info. The party does look fun, you are right, now just to think of costumes for the kids that won't take up much room in the cases.

We visited the toy sales last week and I've lay-byed (? doesn't look right) princess dresses for my girls (8, 6 and 3). They are not the big fancy ones, but I'll need the suitcase space for my shopping :cool1:

I've been showing my youngest DD photos from the party so she doesn't get scared *fingers crossed*. She is more interested in the lollies and Mickey I think!

As posted by melbarkwith the tickets for ToT should go on sale Aug 1st (they did last year) Last year I didn't buy our tickets for Oct 5th (sold out date) until Sept 10th. As for value for money I think it is very good value especially if you have young children. The atmosphere was fantastic and if you like american lollies you will certainly get enough of those. The younger children appeared to be having a great time at the dance party and I believe there are crafts for the younger ones as well. The price this year is slightly more than I paid last year (I think it was 29.00) but my DD who will be 14 is really looking forward to doing it again this year. Halloween is my second favourite time at DLR next to Christmas.

Keptwoman, are you able to share more info about the preseason football game? We are in New York from 7-12 Oct and I would love to organise something for my DH and DS
We went to the websites of the two big teams. The Giants and somebody else whose name escapes me. They have dates and times on the websites but tickets weren't on sale yet last time I looked. The games are out in Meadowlands in Jersey City. It's a public transport ride from the city.
OK I just looked now that ticket sales are up and nearly gagged at the prices. Perhaps they won't be going. I suspect we might be looking for last minute tickets at a half price booth somewhere!!

hey soak, I would love to hear about canada and banff in particular once you get back. have always wanted to go there but just never got to it.

Cheers.

just wondering if anyone can clarify?

we purchased the above pass in 2007(the pass that is available to australia and new zealand residents only) we have purchased the same deal for our trip this year.
we were on the understanding that the pass expired 14 days after first use, however on 'day 13', we were told by the cm at the turnstlye that we had 4 days left on our passes.we had not been to the parks everyday so it sorta made sense.
does anyone know whether its good for 14 different days over a period of time or does it expire after the 14 calendar days.Does this make sense?
or does anyone know where i can get the correct information?

Finally I can get back on here -:D 96 days to go for us (I think I counted right hehe)

I wonder when an acceptable timeframe for packing to start haha - I'm about to start on my OCD lists as at least I can do them in privacy and no-one needs to know how obsessive I am :D

Hello!!

Not long till my trip now!!

I am going with my mum and it was a very last minute decision for September for the Disney expo:yay:
I am so excited!

We leave Sydney on the 9th September and come home on the 16th.

LOL! I'd probably have the suitcases out now, except it would get our dog all stressed out.

I'm already making lists in my head about stuff to bring - children's panadol, empty suitcase(s?) for shopping...

hahaha me too Mel. Hey Flea, share some of those OCD lists with us will ya, would love to take a peek.

we got my DS's passport today so it is all becoming very real now, a little over 3 months to go, and we are still deciding on our accom.
We are undecided about Anaheim, whether to stay at Fairfield Inn or Hojo's.
I am leaning toward Fairfield because of the heated pool (I read it's heated anyway, would spew if it wasn't).
Can anybody offer any insight into the best choice?

haha it's more like an OCD album/book. I bought a large notebook (a4 size) and I write lots of random lists in it. I just add to them when something comes to mind. I have it by my bed because I always think of things in the middle of the night

Lists
Shopping - while we are away
Shopping - things we need leading up to trip
notes people looking after the animals
notes for people looking after house

Things to do
Things to pack (not much there as we will buy most stuff while we are away)
Things to pay and dates they are due

books I might like to read

Rides that will appeal to each family member

Character lists

Sewing list (my girls halloween outfits)

Food I'd like to try :lovestruc

I made a list of lists too!!! DH just walked around at the time shaking his head :rotfl2:

A few things which I really appreciated taking that aren't on most lists...

Immodium, the food is very different and if an intolerance strikes :rolleyes1 Same idea with mylanta/gaviscon/Stemitel etc.
Spare zip lock bags for the trip home or internal flights. You can have fresh ones in case one gets destroyed/damaged
Bandaids that you know won't hurt or irritate the kid's skin.
Vegemite, unopened - we declared it at US customs and had no problem.
Sewing kit, extra safety pins
Favourite tea bags, unopened. Again we declared without probs,
Aeroguard

Imodium is like a wonder drug isn't it, haha. That's a great idea.
Hadn't thought of Mylanta, but might throw some quickeze in.
Vegemite is a must, so just need to make sure it isn't opened
Aeroguard, surely not????

Aeroguard, surely not????
There were a couple of times in LV and at one of the outdoor shopping centres near DL where in came in handy. There were some tiny little bugs in plants that got to us. Not mozzies, I tried but couldn't ID them.

Good list :thumbsup2

I've read alot of the packing threads on here and am intrigued by the ziploc packing idea of packing whole outfits into the big ziploc bags. My concern is that this system would be great for say a 5 day holiday, but how would it work for a 3 week holiday like I am having???? Any thoughts?

I don't know that it would work for a 3 week holiday - unless you had any special outfits that needed keeping together. Over that time you will want to mix and match etc. Maybe if you did it for the first say 5 days of clothes for example so you didn't have to worry whilst taking in the first big culture type shock. I would though split each members clothes over different suitcases so if one goes missing your not missing only one person's clothes.
