Auntie SPRATT SENT PIXIE DUST LIVE!/NEW7.29! Crystal Palace Lunch

Awesome start so far! I love the concept of the outside reporter...just wish you could have been there to see it live. I'll be reading along.

Awesome start so far! I love the concept of the outside reporter...just wish you could have been there to see it live. I'll be reading along.

:worship: That is HUGE coming from you!

I'm really enjoying getting and giving the updates, just like I had a great time "helping" plan the trip...FB is on his own with LP during the day tomorrow, so I might not get updated on their day until tomorrow night - we will see.

I can't wait to hear about YOUR trip - and welcome back to the HEAT!

After a full morning in Fantasyland (apparently, she had to ride the PURPLE Dumbo, and she ADORED the ride.) She wasn't picky about what carousel animal she rode - it was her first Merry-go-round, and she didn't really seem to care for it - go figure! Peter Pan was scary, the Pixies were great...but how would she do with "non-face" characters? It was off to the Crystal Palace to find out!

Well, LP isn't afraid of fully suited furballs...quite the opposite! She gets so excited when she gets to meet them! FB missed a pic of her kissing Piglet full on the snout when he came around a second time. (And he will probably kick himself for it until the dawn of time....)

When Eeyore came by, LP got sad and commiserated with him....with Tigger, she bounced, and she LOVED Pooh.

FB surprised me - he raved about Crystal Palace, and I had expected him to be completely unimpressed, so I asked - how was the food? Answer: ok, normal buffett food....
Auntie Spratt: Was it pretty?
FB: Yeah, I guess - the building was ok, but MAN, did LP LOVE IT!

Guess who has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger?

FB also made it clear that the first lunch seating was the way to go - the buffet is fresh, and it sounded like it got very crowded and very "over-the-top" very quickly - it wasn't really clear why it was so much better...but he repeated "Get the first lunch seating at Crystal Palace you can!" (I think he is secretly enjoying that I'm doing this TR, because he certainly has things he has saved up in his head to share with you!)

After Lunch, they headed back to the Contemporary for a 3 hour power nap. The whole family. Totally wiped.

FB did want me to make it clear to everyone reading: Contemporary Atrium Rocks. Lagoon View is "better" than a MK view because "you really feel like you are on vacation, you see Wishes from the lounge, Illuminations from your room, movies from the balcony AND YOU AREN'T LOOKING AT A PARKING LOT." He also said the snacky snacks are tasty - flatbreads, lamb meatballs, other things I can't remember (sorry.)

He also made it very clear that besides one or two minor meltdowns, the behaviour of both the children AND the adults has been lovely. (As he put it - this isn't Six Flags. :rotfl:)

FB hadn't "drunk the Kool-aide" on the Mouse until now, and he REALLY seems to be enjoying himself, primarily because LP is having so much fun, IMO.

So now they are back up and dressed and heading back to Fantasyland...hoping to see Philharmagic, and then dinner at Tony's at 8pm, Spectro and then.....they don't know. It seems LP is really REALLY scared of the noise from fireworks, so I don't think they will try to see Wishes - not sure how that will play out. He is taking the big camera tonight to get me a pic of the statue in Tony's.

Now for the bad news (but responsible parenting;)) FB didn't bring a computer to upload the big bad a** camera - he, rightly so, wants to pay attention to his daughter instead. So no Tinkerbelle pics, etc until this weekend at the earliest. :headache: This may work in our favor, however, as he will be taking pics with his iphone tomorrow and not taking the big camera out with them, so there is a MUCH better chance they will be sent throughout the day...but maybe not, as it is just the two of them tomorrow.

Tuesday's game plan depends upon something I'm trying to arrange for LP, so, once again, you'll find out when she does!

As always, thanks for reading! I hope that you are enjoying my living vicariously through my beloved family.

Just got this text from FB: "She ran down the ramp off the monorail to go back to the kingdom. We have a fan!!!"

:cloud9:

So when we last left the Buellers, they were heading back into the Magic Kingdom for Philharmagic, Dinner, and Spectromagic.

photo.jpg

Daddy and a Lolli - what could be better?

And the flurry of texts began!

From Ferris: "We just did the fantastic Mickey's Philharmonic 3-D and are in a short line for Small World. We are fully charged and so many people are tired. We missed the rain storm at nap and it is a pleasant evening here at DisneyWorld. After this it's dinner."

THE BEST. TEXT. EVER.

You see, Ferris got a little overwhelmed with the park plan I sent to them. He thought I was over-thinking everything, and that while it was very nice I had spent the time doing it, it really wasn't necessary. It was nice to "have a plan," but they would probably wing it."

:rotfl::rotfl2::scared1:

Luckily, Snow White/Sloane, who was in the College Program at WDW, and had talked to recently returned Mommies, thought the plan was not only TOTALLY necessary, but totally AWESOME. We conspired together - I continued to send her all of the info I could find that I thought pertinent, and she planned on following the plan at the MK, and bringing the plans for the rest of the days; as she said, "By day two, he'll get it. And he will be grateful." :goodvibes

So you can understand why that text meant so much - they were having a great time, following a plan designed to be fun, relaxing, and non-commando, while still getting to do everything they want to do.

A good plan can be enough to turn someone into a convert. :woohoo:

Ferris called me around 9pm last night from the terrace at Tony's; he wanted me to know that he had just had a wonderful meal, and to top off the end of the perfect day, they were having dessert and waiting for Spectro to come pass in front of their table.

photo2.jpg

Snow White/Sloan on the Terrace at Tony's.

He told me the Calamari WAS excellent - not greasy, fresh, great sauce - (thanks for those live reviews, MickeyNicki! Without 'em, I wouldn't have been able to tell SW/S what was good where!) and that he had also really liked his shrimp scampi with asparagus and pasta. (?) I asked what he thought about Tony's - has said the food was very good, and EXCELLENT for being in a theme park. It certainly was not theme park food, know what I mean?

They all liked Philharmagic, but LP got a little sacred. Ferris said it was an amazing multi-sensory experience, and LP didn't like on part of it (I forget what... ) so I said be sure NOT to go on Stich - he replied they didn't PLAN on it. :goodvibes

IASM didn't get much comment, because Ferris wanted to tell his little sister
that he had had an A+ day with his girls at the Magic Kingdom - he couldn't imagine it being any more perfect.

I cried. Perfect days are priceless!

Today is Daddy/Daughter day at the Animal Kingdom while Mommy has meetings - surprise at AK coming soon!

Thanks for reading!

Mrs. Spratt

Snow White/Sloan is "Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, its off to work she goes" which is fine, because that is paying for most of the hotel bill. ;)

Ferris and the LP?

Well, they have hailed a cab an hot-footed it to the Animal Kingdom! (And how did they know that was the fastest way to do it? Cause someone was nice enough to answer Mrs.Spratt's questions on the boards!)

And the big surprise for today? They have VIP seats for Finding Nemo (which started at 11.30, I think - and if LP knows, then my readers can find out, too!:goodvibes) ) They got to go directly to the front of the line and sit in "VIP" seating - I'll know more about how it went when I get an update from Ferris.

How did this happen? An old, dear friend of mine (we won a dance contest together at a High School Dance - competition was pretty fierce, given that we both graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts!) has been performing for Disney for 10 years - he truly is a CastMember! He has worked at Disney Hong Kong, in Festival of the Lion King at WDW, and others - and right now, he is performing in Finding Nemo at AK! (I think he plays Bruce...) Anywho, he arranged this for me - and if Mr. Dancypants was working today, they would get a backstage tour! As it is, I am very grateful he was able to arrange no line time for LP and FB! Truly Pixie Dust!

I woke up this morning and immediately texted Ferris that he should try to get into Tusker House or Yak & Yeti for lunch. (Remember, he thought he could wing it alone with a two year old until yesterday went off with out a hitch due to THE PLAN, so now it seems that Auntie Spratt's advice is good advice! :rolleyes1) I also told him: Pizzafarri - bad food, but has a/c; FlameTree - good food, no a/c, annoying birds; I even remembered to text him about the picnic option! None of this would be possible with out the wonderful DIS!)) Even though he had been told everything was booked when he asked last night (after a vm from Auntie Spratt,) he asked again this morning (after a text from Auntie Spratt,) and the Atrium Concierge was able to get them in to Tusker House after Nemo! (and the concierge COULDN'T make that same reservation the night before - so keep trying! You just might make it in!)

Their goal was Rope-drop, going via cab. (This cut down on transportation time....) Ferris even used the phrase Rope Drop himself - apparently another cool Disney Dad told Ferris yesterday that the AK pre-show and really, all rope drops/opening ceremonies are the ONLY way to go and stay sane! It worked yesterday.....

AND IT WORKED TODAY!

From Ferris: "Like clockwork...kilimanjaro Safari...fun, followed by gorillas, best ever...And then the Lion King. Now at Nemo. Lots of rain. The Show (Lion King) was too loud for LP and she had no point of reference so she was a bit freaked out."

Well, LP has seem Finding Nemo, so I think she will love seeing it live.

AND I've seen the photopass pictures they took yesterday - just wait until you see LP and Tink! Hopefully this weekend!

I'm still sittin' on a flame-thrower filled with Pixie Dust, and I'm not afraid to use it.....more updates as soon as I get them!

Thanks for reading, and have a MAGICAL day!

Auntie Spratt

You win the award for the best auntie ever! That little Princess is the cutest thing ever and her with the wings, oh my! Such a little heartbreaker!

Glad he enjoyed Tony's, he ate two of my favorite things and I would kill for some of that calamari right now!

Awesome updates!! So glad they had a very magical day at MK yesterday thanks to a great aunt!!! Can't wait to hear more about Dad and Daugther day at AK!!!

You win the award for the best auntie ever! That little Princess is the cutest thing ever and her with the wings, oh my! Such a little heartbreaker!

If you only knew...she really is a beautiful, special, HAPPY child. Ferris and I fought like cats and dogs even through adulthood until LP came along...now we are like two peas in a pod! I am very blessed to have such a great family. We have ALWAYS loved each other, just haven''t always seen eye to eye...when SW/S was pregnant, I prayed for a girl as my karmic revenge on Ferris, and my greatest wish was granted!

Glad he enjoyed Tony's, he ate two of my favorite things and I would kill for some of that calamari right now!

Me, too - and I haven't been there yet! Now what about lunch for Auntie Spratt...hmmm. Nothing Disneylicious around here!

Awesome updates!! So glad they had a very magical day at MK yesterday thanks to a great aunt!!! Can't wait to hear more about Dad and Daugther day at AK!!!

You're making me blush! I am enjoying being the Fairy God Auntie so much - we are blessed with kids yet, so I'm really enjoying having a niece to spoil...

Ladies, since you are my readers (I have readers! How cool!) I need some help - SW/S is just getting old. Should she be Snow White? Or Sloane? Help me decide!

Best,

Mrs. Spratt

Hi!

I'm totally exhausted, and I've only received a few texts from Ferris letting me know the skinny - I should get more info talking to SW/S tonight after their dinner (if I don't crash, first!)

Now, some things Auntie Spratt can control: plans of action to minimize wait times, not having to wait in line for Finding Nemo, the right wings being in the right place at the right time.

Things Auntie Spratt can't control:
Rain in Florida in June. A 2 year old not quite understanding her first theatrical spectacle and being scared by it. RAIN. IN FLORIDA. IN JUNE. Lots of it.

From the Ferris's mouth:
"Nemo up close was too intense - we cruised. Then (of course) she wanted to see it agian...Might go back and watch from the back....lunch was a ZOO due to the rain. LP was tired so we cruised the park after 3 hours and are eating lunch at the Hotell (the Wave) then it is nap time. She is having a ball...saying, "Yeah! Disney World!" BUT we are about 4 hours behind on sleep...Its raining alot today - all good.

The Safari was very cool...and the Gorilla ewxhibit was the best I have ever seen. Really amazing.

Cab....Fast 10 minutes each way...$$$ 25.00 EACH WAY. Worth every penny.

Nemo was beautiful.

Finishing lunch at the Wave now...pouring rain."

At 4.45 DST (Disney Standard Time) LP was still napping - I guess Disney sleep is quality sleep...and it was still pouring. BUT! Everyone sounds happy, the photopass pics today are super cute (although LP does look pretty pooped in them.)

I think today has still been perfect in its own way - I am glad that Ferris has an AMAZING ability to go with the flow and make SURE it is always fun for LP. He is an incredible Father. Very patient, always aware of LP's needs, and a WHOLE LOTTA' fun to boot.

Meanwhile, back in Texas, we are FINALLY getting some much needed rain - my roses will be thrilled! And Auntie Spratt needs a 4 hour nap, so LP and I are on the same page. :goodvibes

Tomorrow's pixie dust from Auntie Spratt isn't of the flame-throwing variety - just something fun to keep her entertained while Momma & Daddy have a date at the California Grill - Kids Night Out is coming to watch LP! No pictures of the Pixie Dust, but I will describe everything as soon as LP gets it!

Thursday: Princess Pixie Dust for her dinner at Akershus - want to hazard a guess as to what it is?

As always, thanks for taking the time to read!

The very tired Mrs. Spratt

From FB:
" She (LP) slept until 5pm DST. in full recharge. We hung out at the Club Lounge, SW/S joined us and now we just took the monnorail to dinner at Kona. Rain has subsided, and we are going back to the Magic Kingdom after dinner. Glad our normal lobby is club level - the Polynesian is packed!"

And now back to your regular reporter....

Well, it seems that what everyone says is true: rope drop = successful day. Mid-Afternoon breaks = successful day.

Now, how will this work when I drag Mr. Spratt who can sleep till 2pm?:confused3

I can't wait until I get to talk to Ferris instead of just texting -I knew we would be info deprived today, but I felt the withdrawls! I wanted more updates, but I am very grateful Ferrris has taken the time to text me today...

Cause I love sharing this with Y'all!

Mrs. Spratt

PS - Jen - on page 32 of Nobby - why do you teach science? You are a FABULOUS writer!

I will have the update concerning last night later on this morning (hopefully!) and I know where they are PLANNED to be, but I have a feeling - Ladies and Gentlemen, he has gone OFF THE PLAN.

I think they will be fine.

Ta!

Mrs. Spratt

When we last left our heroes, they were awake and on their way to Kona….

The Poly was crowded, and I haven’t heard about their meal yet – we have only texted, not talked…I did tell them to look for the Kona Cone (but that I wouldn’t order it!) and Ferris texted that the table next to them ordered four, and they were HI-larious!

Over dinner, they decided to cancel their reservations for tonight (Wednesday) at California Grill. (I know, I know…) Cancel the babysitter, and have family time at Epcot. (as Ferris said – “We have eaten at some of the best restaurants around the world (and they have!) and Family time at Disney is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than food/date time. And we are kinda’ fooded out.”

Now, I may get flamed for this, but I think it was a great call.

So Ferris, being a responsible traveler, called the Atrium Concierge to cancel his reservations – he still had to pay 65.00 for the babysitter (whatever) but when FB called to cancel, the first thing out of Tony’s (the concierge) mouth is…..

DOES YOUR SISTER KNOW ABOUT THIS YET!?!?!?!?

Ferris wrote me a lovely text, concerned that by canceling their reservations it would ruin a surprise (due to Tony’s reaction. Apparently Ferris also got “fussed at “ for leaving the Do Not Disturb card up, because it was keeping the staff from leaving presents for LP from Auntie Spratt!)

This is because of the Pixie Dust I had set up for LP while FB and SW/S were to be on their date!

This one is minor – a bag with some really cool crayola markers and coloring books (fairy and princess themed, of course!) The markers only work on the special paper, which is great when you don’t want to end up being charged because of marker markings all over the sheets!

As soon as I got the text from Ferris, I called Tony (the concierge) and had the bag put into the room, and got some neat info about Disney. Tony also commented that my brother seems more laid back then I am – which is the case, at least on this trip. Mr. Spratt commented to me this morning that “of course Ferris seems laid back – you are doing the stressful stuff!” And it is true. And I don’t find it stressful – I am enjoying taking care of the small details that make a trip perfect! I think one of the reasons that I have researched so much, sent all of the Pixie Dust, etc is so that Ferris COULD be laid back, have a great time, and enjoy this experience with his family. Tony commented that without proper planning, people can leave Disney disappointed and disillusioned, and I didn’t want that to happen to my beloved family!

Back to last night….

After dinner, they headed back to the Magic Kingdom… I texted them to remind them that Wishes would be a great time to got to Toontown and meet the Big Cheese himself!

They had a minimal wait, Mickey and Minnie were AWESOME (Ferris said they were very, very good at being Mickey and Minnie – I can’t wait for the photopass pics!)

While they were waiting to Meet the Head Mouse, I texted them to go on Barnstormer next – he responded “its like you are in line with us!”

Barnstormer made the LP say “More again! More Again!” as she exited the ride. Her first roller coaster, and she LOVED it!

From Ferris: “So it was an encore at the barnstormer…and she would ride that forever…Now it is tea cups…and she is making slurping sounds like she is having tea.”

“Tea Cups for the girl who spins until she falls down was a huge hit!”

“It’s magic Carpet time….long walk to get here. Then it’s home, we think.”

And it was off to bed for the Littlest Princess after another LOVELY day!

I actually slept in today! I have been waking up between 4 and 5 I am so excited about their trip – and I like to get the previous evening’s post done ASAP…this morning, I didn’t make it out of bed until 7.45!

By 8.30 (9.30 DST) I hadn’t heard from Ferris – and he usually texts me when they are on their way to a park, so I texted him saying, “Good Morning!”

No response. Hmm.

Well! I was waiting impatiently, when I got a text at 9.40am (DST) saying LP was STILL ASLEEP!

“Howdy. Princess Storey is still out cold. She was up past midnight last night….she might have even left a glass slipper in the park!”

Now, the plan WAS to sleep in this morning – I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, Disney sleep must be QUALITY sleep, because LP didn’t get up until 10.40 am DST!

Ferris called me as they were heading out…he has avoided stollers and ponchos so far, and today might be the day to have both. The first words out of her mouth this morning were Doctor – her little legs were sore from all of the walking, and she thought she needed to go to the doctor! Too cute! (although Ferris felt bad….)

After stopping at the Wave for a coffee to go, they were off to Epcot! (Ferris did tell me he missed his coffee maker this morning….)

Ferris: “So again, we rocked it! A wonderful surprise, no waiting at Nemo and Friends. We went to Crush and he picked LP as one of the people to speak with….She was shy so I spoke for her. But he liked her name. After we left, it was a line out of the building…Now its lunch at Nine Dragons after meeting Mulan….She was too shy to have a picture taken.”

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! After reading MickeyNicki’s review of Nine Dragons, I was VERY concerned about their lunch choice – as in I almost called to tell him to RUN…but by that time, he was already texting me about how good the green iced tea was….and then I got this:

“I have had worse Chinese food, and few times better than this.” Ferris liked it! We’ll see how he is feeling this evening – visions of MickeyNicki’s poor Todd are dancing in my head! And no, I’m not telling Ferris about Todd’s experience!

After lunch, they walked the World Showcase – LP was overwhelmed when she met Snow White! Just blown away….

“So after cool model train in Germany (which, of course, I texted him about when I figured out the location in Epcot) we walked to Morrocco to meet Jasmine. She kissed Storey (LP). From there we found Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger hidden in a UK toy store. She loved that! I even got a crunchy bar! Yum! So we banged on African Drums, listened to bag pipes, and now its back to the hotel for nap/swim – SW/S is already there…Another Great day!”

Something I forgot to mention – the gift bag that was given to LP last night had her name on it. She walked over to the bag, and, pointing to each letter, said “S-t-o-r-e-y A-n-n – that’s me!” Not even three, and she totally gets the concept of spelling! (I wasn’t going to include her real name, but after Crush and this, I had to!)

Pixie Update: SW/S just got back to the room (before Ferris and LP) and found this waiting:

Disneyflowers.jpg

Now remember, it was supposed to be date night tonight! Hence, the kissing swans! And there is a little Irish Mickey, and my husband is from Dublin….

Now here is the problem. I had cancelled the floral order – and it wasn’t even done the way it was supposed to be when I placed the order! Disney Floral is being great, agrees that it was a mistake, and is crediting my account today. Still…

More on the adventures of the Buellers as they happen….

Auntie Spratt

So Ferris just called from the 14th floor lounge, sipping a beer and looking out over the Magic Kingdom and Space Mountain - he said it is pretty amazing.

So while they were in the world showcase, Ferris asked a CM about finding characters - they explained that Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore are "hidden" in the Toy store in the UK, so they were off to find their friends from 100 acres woods!"

Apparently, the characters have their own room in the toy store, with plush versions of all of the characters displayed. (Gotta' love Disney marketing!)
Well, LP was getting one on one time (I actually think it was three on one time) with her friends, and she picked out a plush of each of the characters and "gave" one to the corresponding character. After a bit, Eeyore went to put his miniature self back on the display, and the LP was having none of it! She wanted them to have their babies!

And you wonder why I'm so crazy about this girl!

Great updates! Enjoying following along! Sounds like you are taking good care of your niece!

Great updates! Enjoying following along! Sounds like you are taking good care of your niece!

It sounds like you did an AWESOME job taking care of YOUR family on your trip!

They are having such a great time...and I'm very lucky to be a part of it! I think I'm enjoying the reporting just as much as they are enjoying the being there...

So they cancelled Cali Grill to have family night, and just got a ressie for the Brown Derby at 8pm.

I hope they order grapefruit cake!

Jumped over from GB's report. OH my goodness, YOU ARE THE BESTEST AUNT AND SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::woohoo::worship: Love this. It's a whole new perspective and trip report. Wonderful.popcorn::

Why isn't there a blushing emoticon?

All I can say is these people are very easy to love - and I happen to be related to them!

Today is the last big surprise - they fly out tomorrow am. Hopefulley I will have an update later this morning!

I HAVE to tell you about this morning!

Straight from Ferris's mouth:
"She woke up....put on her shoes (still in jammies) put on her sunglasses and headed for the door. I asked where she was going...answer? "Princesss Dinner."

I guess LP is excited about Akershus!
