Aulani reservation - hugh sigh of relief!

I left my BIL our info and responsibility of securing our June reservation for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom pool view while we were on a cruise in early Nov. I was so happy to come home and find out he was successful. I can't wait to see what my sister's family thinks of the resort. We'll also be going to Kauai the week before.

Until I went to make these reservations I had no idea Aulani could be so crazy trying to reserve! I realize that a lot of it is the season and probably the fact that in late June the kids have just gotten off school and everyone is anxious to get to vacation. Seriously, it had been many years since I had felt that kind of pressure!

My advice (which I read somewhere else here on the boards but can't remember who the poster was) is to be flexible in your dates and definitely don't book airfare before the hotel. We were originally going to go from the 20th - 25th, but I could see from availability that wasn't going to happen if I waited until the 20th to book. Online first thing for three days in a row and finally hit pay dirt on the 3rd day. Sheesh!

Ugh - airfare from Boston (or surrounding New England airports) its terrible!!!
I am going to make it worth my while if I going to have to spend this much on airfare!

DS (4) and I will be in Hawaii a total of 15 days hopping from Oahu, to the Big Island, to Kauai…can't wait!!! DH will be with us for 8 of those days…trying to coordinate airfare though is going to be awful!

We r in CT closer to Boston than NY, but airfare was Much cheaper from JFK than Logan.

Yep I got mine too. I have to say the days leading up to my reservation time were the worst. I keep looking on line and seeing dates were open but couldn't book because of my daughters job we had to wait til tthe 28th. So be flexable if you can ans start looking early. I also discovered if I tried to get a room on my computer I was too slow but when I used the other computer I was able to book so be perpared and good luck. WhooHoo a pool/garden view 2 bedroom June 28th to July 5th. So excited can't wait! I Booked a car I think fairly cheap though http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/ MiniVan for the 8 days $327.82 total. Let me know iif anyone finds cheaper. happy planning.
