August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

Definitely booking a Canada cruise tomorrow, probably the July 8 sailing. Even it it's more pricey than the Port Canaveral cruises, I won't be needing to pay for three airfares, a hotel the night before, and a rental car.

I had to do it.....I booked the 9/7/12 NYC-Canada cruise for my b'day! Will love getting up in the morning and drive up to NJ and then take NJTransit into Penn Station and then a taxi to the port. Can't wait until next year's b'day.

This cruise and the ABD add-on is paid off, so now to concentrate on hotels and then booking Amtrak.

Have a great cruise

I just sent my TA instructions to move my hold date to the Aug 6,2012 Alaska cruise. Still going just a year later.

Glad you will still get to AK on DCL. Have fun planning that one - at least you have a bit of a jump from this year's planning.

We booked the 7/8/12 NYC-Canada cruise for my birthday!!! Even though the cruise is pricey, it will be such a savings (money and time wise) to just take the train into the city (on the LIRR for us) followed by a short taxi ride. We have reserved the follow up two day cruise to nowhere that follows, but at $2K for a day and a half cruise, I'm pretty sure we are going to drop that one.

Still bummed that DCL is going out of Seattle next summer instead of this one. I guess I should be happy since we'll still get to see the Wonder on a weekly basis. It's been my dream for 6 years to see DCL in Seattle.

I booked the 7/8/12 NYC-Canada trip too!! For me and my mom. I did look into adding on the two day but like you noted - could not justify paying over $1K for a day and a half!! The 5-day was pricey enough for me ($200/night/person - 11b) but the 2 day breaks down to about $333/night/person!! I hope to get other family booked in the future but they are still considering their options.

Wow, when I was on this cruise, I thought this thread moved slow, but I opened the aug 6,2012 thead a couple days ago and still no other members have joined. Looks like the same for most of the 2012 Alaska threads so far.

What a difference a year makes, this thread had lots of activity the first few days, but then again, we didn't have NY and Hawaii cruises to complete against. Lol

Can't believe we've hit the 120 day mark!!!! 30 days until I can book excursions!!

Wow, I just realized that I can book Palo brunch tonight. :thumbsup2

Had to believe, just started a NEW weekly countdown
Back at 69 weeks to go. :sad1:, for the Aug 2, 2012 cruise out of Seattle.

Looking forward to all the reports as this one gets underway.

Planning in the next month or two should be very interesting for you guys.

Final payment made!

I'm a 4/26-er too, so a bit yet until booking excursions. I need more time to look & decide anyway.

Stoopid United cancelled our outbound flight, so we had to rearrange flights. Worked out okay in the end, I guess.

The cruise is getting closer and I'm getting excited-er.
