August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Vickie, thanks for your  weather update. I guess after all the :umbrella: you guys have had it's time for some :sunny: and warmth. Hopefully the :umbrella: will be all done with by the time we all converge on :sunny: CA this summer.

Stacey will fully understand this line: Lookie, lookie.....I got the #1000 reply on this thread. No one was around to 'pirate' it from me!!!

And by the way....it has a tendancy to rain everyday in CA...especially in August....when YOU are there!!! :rotfl2:

Oh wait.....I may be wrong......It never rains in California......:rockband:

You may be absolutely correct on that one. You have been to WDW and LV with me and it :umbrella: in both places way too much. Wow, I guess we better not scare everyone into thinking that I cause :umbrella: and bad weather wherever I go.

The snow is just finishing up here. I think we got 4 or 5 inches, it does look very pretty because it stuck to all the tree limbs, fences, bushes, etc. It looks much brighter now, it should melt on pavement surfaces because it is 33 or 34 degrees (above freezing and above the temperature where the salt doesn't work - 18 degrees). :cold: :cold:

We are going over to my parent's house as soon as the plow guy does our driveway. We have to set up their refrigerator (take tape off shelves, turn it on), hang a shower rod, put together some shelves, etc. I will just think about sitting on the verandah as a reward after this rough winter and extra chores. I told my DH I am in the mood to plan our next vacation, he can't think ahead like that, but if we want to do something next winter I have to plan now.

I have such a hard time even picturing snow.......it was 80-some degrees today, and Jared's baseball league had their fund-raising carnival. I got stuck working one of the rides...hotter than heck out there. But it was a fun day. There was a nice breeze.

I was on the computer all morning, well...for a couple of hours anyway....trying to get tickets for my brother for the opening home game for his beloved Kansas City Royals. Even just now, their system was jammed......he may have to go stand outside the stadium and pay a scalper! They must have some true die-hard fans out there.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend....Jared has a game at 1 pm tomorrow.....but most likely it will be his only "day" game. I hope. Since it's already so hot out. Their games are almost all night games, under the lights.

Have a beautiful Sunday!!

I have such a hard time even picturing 80 degrees out... It felt warm here today, in the 30's but the sun was out melting snow. The ground is still covered by several inches and then there are huge piles where the plows dumped it all.

I saw my sister today, the one who is going on the 4/16 Eastern Magic with her friend and each of their 11 yr old DD's. She has no clue, hasn't even thought about what to buy. I told her about the formal, semi-formal, tropical nights - now she said she better get to the mall next weekend. I tried to get her to read the DIS board, but she isn't into the computer as much as I am. She likes to sew and read, and she has an almost 3 yr. old.

Cathy

Cathy you are such a good sister informing her of what she needs to know. it's a shame she won't take the time to read just a little bit of the info that is on here.

Stacey hope you are enjoying your :sunny: and warmth. Send a few degrees to the east coast, you really should share.

My friend was watching the ABC national news tonight and saw me and another friend on there. They were doing a broadcast about Disney and Michael Eisner. The footage was taken at the stockholders meeting last year in Philadelphia. I can't believe I missed myself on national tv, probably the only time I will ever be on there. At least someone I know saw me.

So Barb, I know you said you were a CM, what did you do? I don't know what time ABC National news is on here but I think I missed it already or I would look for you.
Vickie

Vickie, I was a part time CM at The Disney Store for 8½ years. It was sad to think about leaving but it was definately the right time to leave. I wanted to say that I resigned from the Disney Co. and I did not want to work for The Children's Place. I can honestly say that I don't miss working there.
My trip next week will be the first without any discounts for over 8 years, that will be very hard. I know I will save lots of money since I won't be buying as much without the 35% discount. Also, this cruise will be our first one on DCL that we are paying full price, that was a big Ouch! when I priced it and then booked it. But when I average the prices of all our cruises we are still way ahead.
"The Mouse" was good to me for many years and I will remember those years fondly. It's a shame the corporate world only likes to see big $$$ and not what the people really want.

Off the soap box now. Back to our regularly scheduled cruise talk :teeth: :mickeybar

:earseek: Page 2. Stacey you are letting us down. Well ok, just letting me down :flower:

Stacey, forgot to tell you that Pony Express is coming your way if they can find you  :earboy2:

I'm here...sort of. Just been really busy, thanks to the in-laws and outlaws. And the IRS. Don't ask me if I am in a good mood or not!:headache:

Ooohhhhhh.......Pony Express!! Maybe THAT will cheer me up! Thank you.....GRACIAS.....we should be practicing our Spanish!

Muchas Gracias, Senora! (I don't know how to make the little squiggly line over the "n" or I would have put it in there)

Time for bed...see if I can get rid of the ice berg feet!

Good Morning everyone. Just wanted to say Hi and bump us up.
Hey I'm pulling a Stacey at the end of the month. I'm flying to Las Vegas for a quick trip. And when I say quick I mean QUICK! I'm flying in that morning and flying home late the same night. I'm meeting my cousin there and surprising her brother (he knows she's coming but has no idea I am) but I have to get home because the next day is my birthday and I have plans with my family.
Vickie

Good Morning!

Vickie, those "surprise" trips are so much fun, even if they are quick. We've done that a few times.

Things have been so crazy. I keep telling myself that it will calm down and get back to "normal" .....but I am having my doubts. I had to pick up oldest DD, Megan, at the airport yesterday, she and a friend had been in Cancun. Forgot how long it takes to clear customs in Phoenix. They don't have a lot of international flights, so they don't have it down to a science like some airports. So I waited forever. Then I decided to treat myself and go to the mall. I hadn't been there in so long, I'd almost forgotten what it looked like!
I bought a couple of new tops, not that I needed them........
And I had a $75 gift certificate for my birthday at one of the jewelers. I was going to buy something for Jordan's birthday in May, but didn't find what I wanted, so I got myself a cute little necklance, not that I needed one......:p

AND....I waited forever to actually use this smilie, and then was gone all day and half the night....so........HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY (late)
