August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

:cool1: We got a pin!! (for children cruise free) And with 3 children, this is a great deal for us! We are booked in a Cat. 4 and will be joining the party!

We wanted second seating, so I didn't ask if Main was available - but I got the feeling it wasn't because they didn't even ask, they told me I'd have second seating.

Can hardly wait for the sail-away party!! We had such a great time when we cruised in 2007!

I haven't seen this posted yet, but we received our packed from DCL yesterday! It contains the letter that talks about the "paid in full" date, and included Shore Excursion itineraries, state room gifts, etc.

Won't be long now!!!

We received our packet while I was away on the Spring Break College Tour:thumbsup2

The students were great so I'm not stressing:scared1:

Welcome to all the new comers and I hope that those cruising this week are having a great time.

Joe

Surprised we got one too today!!! Considering we just booked less then a week ago, AMAZING!!!!!

No idea, didn't ask as we wanted second seating, got it no problem. Based on the fact there are so few staterooms left, I'm guessing there is only second seating left. There are 2 cat 5's left (they only fit 3 or less), 4 cat 10's, and at least 8 cat 11's. Cat 4, 5(only for parties of 4), 7, and 9 are all in guarentee right now. Cats 6, 8 and 12 are completely sold out.

Sounds like we'll be sailing with a full ship?

Unless.... disney is not selling the entire ship. I know that sounds crazy, but a CM in Sept. told us that was happening, not enough staff to go around! In Sept. we were only 1300 on board, ironically there was a sign at the port... "Sorry no upgrades, Capitan Mickey is full." I asked my fav CM about this he told me disney was sailing will less passengers because the crew is leaving in droves to go to Europe, better tips. They didn't have enough "help" to sail full. I do trust this guy, I've known him for six years.

Reading the disney layoffs, I wonder what our sailing will be.

Our window is open. Anyone flying SWA? I did awful! $978 roundtrip for 3!!

I just booked this cruise for my family using the PIN code DCL sent me. I was on the fence about going but this offer pushed me over. My wife tried to push back but I'm stronger and pushed back harder. :-) Anyway, we haven't told our kids yet and was trying to think of a creative way of doing so. Two Christmas's ago we surprised them Christmas morning with a Disney Monopoly Game and inside we made signs that read, "Do Not Pass Go....Collect your allowance...Your boarding passes...and your Park Hopper Passes because....Your going to Disneyland....Today!" So, maybe, I was thinking of putting together an "Amazing Race" type scavenger hunt that would take us to the port. Has anyone done something similar or have any ideas? We're not sure if we can top going to Disney on Christmas but would have fun trying to.

ps. I'm new to posting, but not new to reading the boards, and was wondering how does everyone those cool countdown icons and stuff at the bottom of their posts? Thanks.

Welcome!

I too have a DD who will be turning 11 this summer. Potential shipboard friend???

As for your Signature, you will need to edit your "signature". Click on Quick Links in the menu bar near the top of the page. Then click "Edit Signature".

The easiest way to post a count down is to click on one that you like that someone else is using. Then, click on it, and it should take you to the web page that will allow you to build one. Build yours, and at the end, it should give you the "code" you need to paste into your Signature that will allow it to show on the boards. I think you need to use the "bbcode" to get it to display properly.

Hope that helps!

tvepfox - we're driving down and staying 5 nights pre cruise at Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal.

blueskyy1969 - welcome aboard, I just joing the group about 10 days ago, we're looking forward to our 4th Disney cruise. just click on the tickers in our signatures, and it will take you to the website where you can make your own. They you put it into your signature here at the DIS.

We just put our deposit down today for this cruise!:cool1: we have been wanting to go on a Disney cruise forever. We received the pin code for the kids to cruise for free, so we are taking the older two and leaving the baby at home. We are so excited! Michelle

We got that pin too, but when we tried to rebook (as this would have saved us money off of the rebooking rate we have now) they said this cruise date was sold out for the pin. We called the day after we got it, so I'm not sure if it really did sell out that quickly, or if the CM just didn't feel like looking (as she told us it was sold out immediately upon hearing the date).

We also got the cruise docs, but not at our address, the address of our friend sailing with us. Now, that might not seem so strange except that we have never sailed with these people before, we booked totally separately and at different times (us on the ship for a different date, which we then switched at home, she booked months later on the website), ours is with a TA and hers is not, and we don't have the reservations linked yet. So ow Disney knows that we're in any way related to these people is beyond me. :confused3

I received my docs last Monday, today I got my MIL's docs with my address on them:confused3 She is staying in the connecting cabin so I didn't think much of it.

I just hope that she doesn't find her way onto my on board account:rotfl2:

Prices dropped on NWA last night, so we booked. $170 RT from Detroit, non-stop. I'm relieved to have it booked, so I don't have to worry about the times (not having to get up at 3 AM for an early flight!).

The kids and I are staying at WDW the week prior, taking advantage of the free DDP. DH will fly down on Friday. I was able to get all of us on the same flight going home, so that was good too.

One more thing done. Flights...CHECK!

I just checked Usairways again today and my DM and DD's airfare dropped by $40.00 each after I made them hurry up and book:eek:

Sorry you weren't able to take advantage of the pin.

We finally booked!

This will be our 4th cruise... this is the first time we booked through the DVC. Unfortunately, our first choice was the tortola cruise on 8/15, but apparently when going through DVC, you have to book WAAAAY earlier than we ever imagined.

This actually worked out perfectly though. It cost us fewer points and we still get back in time for my daughter and I to attend the first day of school! Now we just hafta wait an extra 2 weeks to set sail :-(

Me: 35
DH: 45
DD: 9

Is anyone is from the NY metro area??? We are from Long Island.
