August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

I'm back, did ya miss me today?!:goodvibes

Spent the day draining the bank account. Some good buys at the Mall!:cool1:

The best things arrived today from eBags. Packing cubes I ordered. OMG I fit so much in each one. WDW stuff in one set, DCL stuff in another set. Yes, I'm ODC when it comes to packing and organization. AAA members get a 15% discount with eBags.

On the topic of full ship... not a good thing for us adults. :eek:The adult pool area will be swamped by 10 am, especially with people saving chairs on sea days (how rude). I got so mad last cruise, I considered not going back on DCL again, wanting a bigger ship. On the flip side, the decks were a ghost town at night. Weird, where did all the people go, the bars were empty too.

FYI, anyone going to the parks before or after the cruise, check the park hours, AK is closing most days at 5 pm. What's with that!!

Oh yeah, bought another suitcase today. DH is ready to stuff me in it.:scared1:

I tried today for just 2 adults, like others have said, our cruise and the eastern on the 15th are both looking like they are sold out, nothing shows for 2 adults except the Western right before ours, and even that one was only showing a couple of cat's. Hope everyones ok with their rooms, doesn't look like they'll be much of a chance of upgrading at the port, although we have no idea of what is booked cat 1-3.

My husband called DCL and was told the entire ship is sold out, suites as well. So I'm guessing that is true, but it just seems so amazing cause the cruise was a lot cheaper than the earlier August ones so I assumed that meant it was a less desirable date.

I've never been to the adult pool but now that both kids can be in the club I am thinking of trying it out. Can't be any worse than that Mickey pool!

I had to order a replacement Safari Club card yesterday for Rainforest Cafe.

It should take a week in the mail.

This card is a lifesaver at DTD when they have long lines. It cuts your wait down to less than 30 minutes when they was a 2 1/2 hour wait:scared1:

The shorter wait is usually at AK and it is near the DCL pickup:cool1:

I think AK usually closes at 5pm, other than late spring/most of summer. I'm guessing though that since many kids are back in school that AK is back to it's usual 5pm closing time.

I forgot to ask, did anyone find a surprise in their documents? One cruise we were upgraded!

I know two people who will be in the bars and hot tub at night...It's my favorite time.

No docs here yet either. We did get our passports though. I was starting to worry since DH sent his renewal in 2 days after mine and got it 2 days earlier.

I thought this week of cheaper because it was less desirable too. I guess all of us with kids starting school after Labor Day decided to go :) Unfortunately they probably didn't think about how late Labor Day was, thus more kids still out of school when they priced the cruise. And there must have been lot of smart people like us realizing how much cheaper it was = Full cruise.

No Docs for us yet either. I'm hoping they come soon, as we leave in 2 weeks, I'm getting anxious. We booked this cruise because it was the only one the DVC had listed in value season that wasn't during school. For a summer disney cruise, this one is pretty inexpensive. My guess there is a combo of southern schools already back and hurricane season. Hopefully, hurricane season will hold off until ALL OF US are out of the FL area!!!!!

In the business we call this backpedaling...

NOAA Lowers Hurricane Season Outlook, Cautions Public Not to Let Down
Guard

August 6, 2009

According to its August Atlantic hurricane season outlook, NOAA now expects a near- to below-normal Atlantic hurricane season, as the calming effects of El Niño continue to develop. But scientists say the season’s quiet start does not guarantee quiet times ahead. The season, which began June 1, is entering its historical peak period of August through October, when most storms form.

Just picked my docs up from receiving at my office. YAY!!!:banana::banana: Now it is for real. In 3 weeks we will be on the plane.

Question to those of you who has gotten their docs? Who delivers them, so I know whether to assult my Fed Ex or UPS guy.......

My docs were delivered from UPS (says 3-day select delivery). When I spoke to DCL yesterday they stated that they had been mailed out on Wed and I should get them Monday. So definitely within the 3-day timeframe. Not sure if this matters or not but I booked mine through DVC but the docs came from DCL. I would say everyones is going in the mail this week.
