August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

I cancelled a Palo brunch reservation tonight if anyone was looking to grab one. It was for two.

Oh man I missed it. Does anyone know if you are still able to book a brunch or high tea once we are on board? Is there one that people like better than the other? We have only been able to have a dinner at Palo in the past we liked it but this time really wanted to try one of the other dining choices there.

Thanks for the heads up! Tried for the past 30 minutes but it never showed up :sad2:

I'm thinking maybe when they are cancelled they aren't rereleased and that is why there are always some available at embarkation :confused3

DH and I snuck away for an overnight to Atlantic City last night. When we came home we found our docs waiting for us! WOOO HOOO!

No cabin upgrade, but we are totally fine with the sideways cat 11. All we really do is sleep in there anyway.

I hope the ship isnt totally packed. Judging by the availibility of ressies, I'm guessing it is though.

We are both knocking out a lot of overtime to pay for the excursions, shopping, etc... still no final word on whether we will go ziplining or not in St. Maarten.

In reading these posts, I saw someone else wrote in about does anyone have any allergies we should be aware of like nuts... In a response to one of my posts, someone wrote that we are not *allowed* to bring food onto DCL. So I had to come up with a backup plan that I may need to implement. Its hard trying to find a gift that transcends all ages and genders- food is pretty universal!

So we're off to Hershey Park on Sunday... followed by 10 days at home.. then we're off for the long trek down the eastern seaboard!

I know you are allowed to bring wrapped purchased food (so maybe the person asking about nut allergies was thinking of giving us Reeces:goodvibes or something!) but not food that was prepared at home or elsewhere and not wrapped by the manufacturer.

I love Hershey Park but have not been back in years - have a great time!

Yes, as soon as you get on the ship go to (usually) Rockin Bar D and you can put in a request for Palo at that point. Brunch is fantastic - I think it is better than dinner (but if only we could get the souffle for brunch!) - and I did tea once and it was nice but nothing special (in my opinion).

You are probably right, although I know they hold some back even at the beginning of booking as well.

I define it as 3 weeks until we sail!!!:sail::sail::sail:

Got our docs yesterday. My UPS man said he'd been delivering them all day, almost everyone he delivers to in my area got one yesterday he said!!! Wonder if I'll see anyone I know...... I don't know anyone from my area going, but he would know better than me!

I've seen DH's sleeping out on deck. Now I know why!

Once, in desperation, I gave up and slept on the verandah. It was nice and quiet out there :thumbsup2

No cruise docs here yet.

And I've been trying to get Chef Mickey's for the 27th or 28th-- and whatever ADR's opened up, definitely not for those days. :sad2:

Don't give up on CM. We have Friday night before the cruise, I could always try to get a bigger table and you could join us.

I have seen Grills mentioned in some of The Radisson postings..any other suggestions on a family restaurant close to the Radisson for dinner friday?
We have 3 picky children, and prefer not to do the typical chain restaurants that we could eat at back home.

Would love suggestions

If you go to the cruise line forum, click on the FAQ section, and scroll down to Shirley's helpful thread, there is a lot of information from Shirley from "A Perfect Gift"(board sponsor who makes and delivers beautiful gift baskets to the ship). She lives in the area and has compiled a list of just about everything you need to know about the area, including some restaraunts, if you can't find the info, pm her, she is very nice and if you tell her what your family needs are, I'm sure she'd have a suggestion for you!
