Disnie: I have a 16 year old boy (will be 17 in December) and a 14 year old boy. I'm sure your son Robert can hook up with them. What are his interests? My boys will probably spend a lot of time on the sports deck.

We fly in the afternoon before the cruise, spend that night at the Hyatt at the airport, and fly straight home after leaving the ship. This is the first cruise we have taken that we haven't tried to add a few days on one side or the other in Orlando, but it's just not possible for this summer.

I'm afraid that may be what we end up doing as well. I was hoping the kids and I would be able to get away a few days early for some play time in Orlando (I know DH will have to fly in on Friday) but it's not looking good.

Of course I still have to call SW to see if they'll extend my RR awards. I've got 2 that expire on 8/14. I certainly hope they don't charge me the full $50 fee to extend for a year when I only need 2 weeks.
Anyone have recent experience with them?

Is anyone intersted in renting a boat for an afternoon of fun? We were looking at the boats available online from the resorts. We were thinking about a Boston Whaler or a Pontoon on Seven Seas Lagoon.

I have a reservation at the Radisson for Thursday and Friday night, but then saw a lot of good reviews for the Residence Inn and thought the extra space would be nice, plus it's newer. Then last night, I discovered a new La Quinta a few miles down the road and right on the beach that is getting really good reviews on Trip Advisor. It would be nice to be on the beach. So now I'm not sure where we're staying.

On the Saturday after the cruise we're staying at Doubletree - Downtown Disney for one night.

I was wondering, for pirate night if I should dress up as Tinkerbell or a pirate. I have a Tinkerbell costume and I can't decide!

We booked the Radisson because we got the Book Thurs get Fri night free deal. We got the 2 of the 2 room Jacuzzi Suites. I'm glad I booked when I did, the next day that deal for those dates was gone. I had read the reviews of La Quinta and had tried to book them at first, and they didn't have anything at the time I was looking, it could have opened up since then though.

I would go with the pirate costume. The theme is Pirates in the Caribbean dance party. Captain Hook will be there along with some other surprises!!

JMEFOX - I love it!!!! I'll take it. One question - if we go on another cruise, we would be able to reuse it (would it be possible to cover up the So Long Summer Cruise words or take them off?)

I am so glad you love it! Yeah the words could easily be covered or I could put something else easily. Would you want it so say "The Blank Family" instead and then have your kids names, one on each pocket, with the pictures? if you want to send me an email we can exchange addresses so I can mail you the FE.

jmefox - beautiful FE!

I lucked out BIG time!!! I was over at DH's aunt house last weekend and asked her if she had any scrap fabric. I have absolutely NO sewing skills whatsoever but was going to staple something together if I had to. LOL.

She asked me what I needed it for. I showed her pictures of the FEs and she offered to make one for me. She had it ready for me this week. It is beautiful!!

I just need to put the dowel in and put our names on it.

We be at the Bay Lake Towers of 6 nights before the cruise and 5 nights at Coronado Springs Resort with free dining before that.

We will be flying home right after the cruise.

My DD turns 11 a few days before we cruise. I think she was feeling a bit old for the lab last cruise, so she's looking forward to being in Ocean Quest this time around. I'll send you a PM with her info.

Hi Katie;

FE stands for "fish extender" - weird, I know, but next to your cabin door on the ship is a metal fish and many people on the Disboards like to hang something on that fish, with pockets to accept little gifts, notes, etc. If you sign up for the FE list, it means that you are agreeing to leave something in everyone's fish extender, and that you welcome gifts from others on the list. It's a lot of fun checking to see what has been left for you over the course of the cruise, but of course no one has to sign up for it.
