August 28, 2010 Pirates of the Barbary Coast - 11 nights in the Mediterranean

You can book the flights yourself. Karen did this for her and Richard.

Hope you were able to at least get a credit for the flights Karen!

Yeah, we didn't lose out... Right now, I'm just sad I'm not going to see you and Steve... xxx

I'm sad too! :sad1: I was saving your Christmas card that we had returned to give you on the cruise. :rotfl: I guess now I will have to figure out what I did wrong with your address. Maybe we will see you on another cruise or at WDW. Let me know when you plan to do either next year. Maybe we will luck out and plan something at the same time again. You and Richard take care!

We got our docs today too!! Very exciting. Now it's time to finalize excursion plans, and stay healthy as rav4lcrv said

We are just watching a t.v. programme in the U.K. "Piers Morgan on Monte Carlo". Does any one know if the Magic actually pulls into port in Monte Actually in the harbour) or does it pull in further along the coast.

Just trying to plan where to shop and go for coffee whilst there.

Thanks :scratchin

The Magic stops at Villefranche (it's a tender port). There is a train station about 5 minutes from the port which goes to Monte Carlo and takes about 15 minutes. It's 5 euros for a return ticket.

It anchors in Villefranche. You then have to tender to the dock in Villefranche. I've read that it is about 30-40 minutes by train from Villefranche to Monte Carlo.

Maybe I am mistaken. I got the 30-40 minutes from a blog on Trip Advisor and another one on Cruise Critic. But since you say 15 minutes and have already been there, I will go with that.

They vary between 14 and 24 minutes depending which train you get on. I'd say 20 minutes is a good average.

Hooray! I got my cruise documents yesterday!:banana::banana:

I was really surprised to see that the luggage tags had our new stateroom number. We had a voicemail warning us that they were probably on the old stateroom and we would need to change the number on the tag. I was also surprised that they had the excursion in Naples listed in the documents. I just booked that excursion last week. DCL really seems to have it on the ball right now.

Yeah we can't wait. We're looking forward to doing all the things we didn't do in May.

The weather here has been pretty awful the last few days so a trip to the Med will be a welcome change :cool1:

You'll have a great time on the cruise. It's absolutely fantastic.

Hey there!

What are you planning on doing this go round?

Sorry we can't go on this one as well. Have a great trip! Say hi to G for us!

Just got back home to find cruise docs had been delivered on Monday. Makes this cruise seem more of reality now. :cool1:

Just got our cruise docs today. I was surprised it took as long as it did as we are in the Orlando area. I was elated to see the luggage tags with the upgraded stateroom number on them as well. It made the upgrade feel more real! We are really getting to crunch time to make sure everything is taken care of. I am lining up a pet sitter and someone to check the mail for us.

Anyone ordering through cruise formalwear for formal night? We are considering it as we really don't want to pack DH's suit. They have gotten fairly good reviews.

Hi,

We (husband and I) would like to join you for Naples if possible. Sorry I can't PM *** I have less than 10 posts here. Can u give me a rough idea of the cost and itinerary?

Thanks.

I got my cruise documents earlier this week and was upgraded from Cat 11 to Cat 5. I booked this cruise last year and I wonder if the earlier you booked the better upgrade u'll get.

Also I booked 6 excursions once they became available, wonder if they took these into consideration for the upgrade.

Of course, now that I have visited this thread, I have cancelled some of the excursions and planning to go visit places on our own instead.

We are about to book a private tour for the ports of Naples, Rome and La Spiezia. We have room for 1-3 more people. The price will definitely beat DCL's excursion price.

Anyone interested?
Please PM me at catlang@optonline.net.

Thank you....

Sorry I just replied to your post without quoting - still new to this. I can't PM as I have less than 10 posts, but would like to find out about the cost and itinerary of our private tour in Naples.

Thanks.
