August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

That would be cool to have a pirate night. They did that on the Navigator of the Seas cruise we went on in November. They had all the kids made up like pirates with hats, swords, eye patches, etc.. and they all stormed the dining room during late seating and did a little skit... It was adorable.

When I called yesterday and asked about the menu changes, I was told the change to a pirate night was on the Eastern only. They are changing the Tropicali.... night to a pirate night. The Western is not having any changes to theme nights, only to one of the menus. However, I don't know for which restaurant.

Hi Guys! I am sorry to say but everyone who I know who has seen The Village said it was the worst movie they ever saw!!! I am completely disappointed. But I will still want to see it onboard. I hope Princess Diaries is playing. I love that movie. I am so jealous of all of you who paid $10.00 for Sea Safe. I guess I got ripped off:(

Guess What? I just called all season's travel at 6:00 p.m. Philly time, and she said she is mailing out the documents know that I should recieve them in 2 days. .I hope this helps all of us who ordered through them.

Oh thank God.

I know, in reality, it's a small small thing to worry about, but I'll feel much better when they are here.

I have a question for anyone else who booked with All Seasons. I was looking at my CC bill and noticed two charges for $110 each - agent fee. I didn't realize they charge you for your booking??

pattiteach: Thanks for passing along that info!! I hope the documents arrive up here in MA by Saturday, otherwise I won't see them till I get back from NJ in the middle of the next week. I'm going back to NJ this weekend to pick up DSs and will stay and visit again for a couple of days. At least I know they're on their way! :)

Karel: I don't remember seeing anything on our credit card for "agent's fee" at all. Maybe you should call them and ask about it. Do those fees bring the total cost of your trip higher than what was initially quoted to you??

Well, I guess we are on the other end of the spectrum because we, and several of our friends, loved The Village. We thought it was thought provoking, intriguing, great acting and great plot twists!

Oh, well, I would still suggest seeing it and making your own opinion. If you liked all his previous movies (Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable), then I cannot imagine you wouldn't like this one. If you didn't like any of his previous movies, then I would say skip this one too.

Also, we got a call from our TA at MouseEars Vacations and she has already mailed our docs Federal Express. We're supposed to get them tomorrow!!!! YEAHHH. Then I'll know the trip is official and will being the packing panic.....

Hi All!

Joanna - I booked through All Seas Travel and thanks to the other great DISers I hope the Docs are on the way.

Pattiteach - Thanks for calling All Seas and thank for the update!

Karel - I also booked thru All Seas and don't remember seeing a agent's fee. Did they charge you card when you paid in full? I know my final balance was 2997.00 and they had to put through 2 charges - one for $2500 and one for $497. Then I called back and added REAS and they charged my card $299 then, but maybe I better go back and check my statements. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks,
Mary Rose

At least my girlfriend won't feel so alone! I told her today how I shared her Speedo fear with my DIS friends. She was hysterical with laughter! I explained we all sympathize. Cindy: It must be hard to keep a straight face in your house, what with Bobby being such card & all. I hope for my girlfriends sake there is more than one man wearing a Speedo on this Cruise! :o BTW, is anyone doing the 60's or 70's nights? What are you wearing for those nights? I don't have anything special I can wear that fits into those themes. At least I don't think I do...so I figured I could get some ideas from all of you! I find I'm starting to panic now! Don't want to forget anything & don't want to overpack. Aaaarrrghhh! I really have to start writing all my questions down, everytime I get on here I forget what I wanted to know & than I have to start all over again. Oh Well! Guess it just gives me another excuse to come & chat with all my fellow 8/28 Cruisers! :goodvibes :cool1: Kathy :wave2:

Kathy--

I think a whole group of us are planning on getting together for the 60's (Beatles) Night in Rockin' Bar D. (Check ThreeCircles.net for all the info.)

Some of us talked about going all out and dressing up for the occasion and I plan on doing so! I'm either going to make or buy a Ty-dye shirt and have my mom make an old pair of my Fossil jeans into flares. A Peace necklace to top it off and perhaps some stylish shoes if I can find any at Goodwill! :teeth: (I'm still trying to figure out what kind of shoes men wore during that period.)

Travis had talked about buying one of those hugh haloween afro wigs but we'll see...

:hyper:

3 weeks!!! THREE WEEKS! We're really close now! :hyper: :sunny: ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Does anyone know which night the 60's Beatles show is?? I've heard both Monday and Friday nights. Does it alternate?? I don't want to miss that show!

I haven't thought about dressing for the theme nights, other than the Mexicali night. I could borrow one of DSs tie-dyed shirts....but not sure if I should. Anyone else dressing up for 60's night??

REMINDERS: These are a few things that I think we should have at this point, please add to the list if you think of something else:

*Documents -except for us All Seas people who don't have them yet :(

*Passports OR birth certificates with a raised deal AND state-issued ID such as a driver's license.

*Letter from your doctor if you are traveling with health-related equipment that could be questioned by security, and/or if you need special consideration from DCL such as a fridge, or anything else you'd need them to supply for you onboard.

*Letter for the airline (if you are flying) if you will be traveling with anything that security could question. For example, we travel with DHs diabetes supplies which include syringes (needles) and we have to carry them on, so the doctor's letter is a necessity.

*Renew any prescriptions you need, make sure you have a refill available on your prescription.

Ok friends...anything else that you can think of that any of us might need but that might take a few days to acquire? We don't want to realize that we NEED something at the last minute and not be able to get it quickly, you know??
Hope this is helpful :)

Terry:

I can't emphasize enough about the doctors note, last year we were questioned by the security people at the airport about my DH insulin needles, luckily we had a note from the doctor stating he was diabetic.

Been busy getting ready here for so many things.I am sure going to need this vacation.
Tomorrow I have a large POLISH family reunion with 75 plus people. I have been doing the family tree. So far 144 poeple are listed.....
On Sunday my son goes to Boy Scout camp for a week... and then we get ready to VACATION>>> :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Daniel got his white dinner jacket yesterday and I ordered my husbands tux as well.
Oh and how can I forget, I have to go to the hospital today.. sister is having major surgery... (another sister, not the one traveling with us). Cindy: you are funny about Bobby being in a SPEEDO instead.... '
Have a great day everyone:grouphug: I have to get cooking and baking all my treats...

:jumping1: Doreen:jumping1:

Don't forget.....

Make sure your eyeglass prescriptions are up-to-date and your eyeglasses are in good shape. My DH's glasses fell apart on our last cruise because the screws were stripped and he almost lost one of the lenses in the ocean!

And sunglasses!!!!

Also, here's a tip for those flying: I print out two sets of all our airline info -- itinerary, receipt, boarding passes, etc. and I put one set in an envelope that says Phil to Orlando and one in an envelope that says Orlando to Phil. That way, if I lose a set, I always have a back-up. And I pack the two envelopes in separate carry-ons.

Also, make copies of ALL of your ID (birth certs, passports, ID's), your charge cards and phone cards. Keep the copies in a separate carry-on from the originals, together with the receipts for your Traveler's Checks. That way, if you lose any original documents, you will at least have the copies.

Wow! Thanks for the great tips everyone!
