August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

Hi All...I go away for 4 days and there are 4 pages to catch up on. You all have been VERY busy.

South Beach was GREAT!!! I really enjoyed it, we have never been there before and didn't know what to expect, but it was great.

Terry...Glad you are feeling better, my mother has had pleuracy in the past and you should be fine in 4 and a half weeks.

Congrats to all who received there docs, it seems like a sold out cruise. Not even the Inaugural Western was sold out.

Under 30 days :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Were you able to find a nice hotel without uninvited guests?????

Doreen:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Yes very clean hotel although the room was small (We thought we were in our cabin, without the split bathroom) Doubletree Surfcomber, right on the beach. clean rooms and beautiful grounds.

Hi everyone :wave2:

The realization that the cruise REALLY IS only 4 weeks away is hitting me hard! LOL I feel so unprepared. lol I've been checking out packing lists online. This might have been already posted, but I came across this "cruise timeline" web site and thought I'd post it here: http://www.cruisediva.com/things_to_do.htm

It's raining here today and since I'm stuck at home trying to recover from this lung infection, I thought it's the perfect time to sit at my desk and make lists. :p I think I have done just about everything I could possibly do in advance, except the actual packing. Any other last minute things you all are doing??

Joanna: Welcome back, glad you had such a nice trip! :)

Well, suddenly I find myself in a last minute scramble for dog care. Our Westie was suppose to go to our friends house for 13 days. Sunday morning, my friend showed up on our doorstep, asking if we could care for their Westie this week so they could go to the shore. Now the dogs are not getting on at all, fighting and growling all the time. My dog has known their dog since he was a few months old and they always run and play together sp it's not like they are strangers.

Now we're having doubts about them being together for so long. We're gotten to the point that we're using gates to separate them.

One other option is that our dog goes to my parents, which works for me. But they don't have a fenced in yard and they have cats and my husband is worried.

The other option is that we hire someone to stay the night but I don't want him alone everyday for that length of time. Of course, my friend could come and play with him during the day and maybe he could go over there for short length of time.

You think everything is set and then ....bam!

Karel... Hopefully everything will work out for you with your little Westie with arrangements! Good Luck :)

Welcome Back Joanna!!!! :)

Terry...:grouphug: Feel better soon! I know what you mean about feeling behind on preparations. School starts here on Monday the 9th (less than 2 weeks!) and I have my 6 year old to go to one school and my 3 year old starts his pre-K autism class at another. So between getting them ready and prepping for the cruise I am losing days!!!! :worried:

CONGRATS everyone who got documents recently! :jumping1: I have been debating on filling mine out now or waiting..... probably will have them done by this weekend knowing me! Oh well...never can be too prepared, right????

Tomorrow will be 30 days for me!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!

Have a good day everyone!

:wave2:

Melanie

Well they're here! It all seems so much more real now that we have our documents...

:hyper: We got confirmation of our Tulum excursion and we booked Stingray City and Island tour directly through Native Way Sports.....

Can't wait til the 27th.....

Has anyone on the 8/28/04 cruise receive a "FREE" upgrade?

I doubt it since the cruise is sold out, but you never know.

I am so excited that we have only a few weeks, and I am too debating what to do with our beagle puppy. That's right he is only 11 weeks old. ( his name is Luke) we have been spoiling him since I am home for some of the summer ( phila school teacher teaching summer school) What has everyone done in the past? I need help!!!

Joanna - I dont think our cruise is sold out.. I went into the disney site today and was able to get information for 2 adults... just not with kids.

So probably the rooms that hold 4 are sold out or the kids clubs are at capacity.

I didnt get an upgrade... Im still in my SPR and Im happy
Ginny

I'm fine also in the SPR, did you ever give the other SPR up?

I may see how much a verandah upgrade is at the port, but if its too much I'll stick with what I have.

Pattiteach...Sorry I can't help you, DH won't get another dog (although we do beg him) because we like to travel. But when I did have a dog "grandma" use to dog sit.

Joanna - it wasnt me who was giving up a SPR.... Me and my sister are your neighbors.. we are in 5522 & 5524.

We were also able to get a doggie sitter since Dh was worried about the dog being in the kennel for 18 days.. so one of his workers who wants to get an English Bulldog is going to watch ours and see what they are like before he takes the plunge.....

Ginny

Ginny...We are real neighbors, how old are your kids again? Don't feel like going to page one to see LOL

Joanna - my DD is 9, DNephew is 8, DS is 6 and DNiece is 4

My daughter is very friendly... we should introduce our kids at the Radisson.. this way they know someone before getting on the ship

Another rainy day here and I've been looking around on the DisneyStore.com web site... They have the light blue tropical Mickey dress AND shirt for DH on sale.... Should I buy them? How many of you, and your DHs will be wearing them? And which night?? LOL I am tempted to hit the "order" button! :D DSs won't wear the matching shirts, but I could probably get DH to wear it. LOL

P.S. I'm wondering if the XXL dress will fit me! Do you know if they run big, small, average...?? I usually wear a size 18 women's dress. I know that sometimes the t-shirts from the Disney Store tend to run small...

Terry - there will be 8 people in my family wearing those outfits on tropical night... I know there are several others who are also wearing the same outfits.

I think you will see quite a bit of people in those outfits since disney has had them on sale for quite a while.

Our first cruise in 2001 we had bought disney outfits and only saw 2 other families with the same outfits... in 2002 there were many more. and I expect even more this time.
