August 25 2012

Our check in time is 11-1130. We like to be one of the first on the ship if possible. I just noticed you are from Norwood. We are from Weymouth:goodvibes

Hubby and I lived in Weymouth in our first apartment out of college...in 1988. Sheesh, I'm old!!

I just searched past posts and realized all 3 couples are on the 26th. 10 years, 22 years and 40 years. What are the odd of that happening and all of us being on DIS and on the same cruise at the same time?:goodvibes

that's amazing!!! congrats to all three couples!!!
my husband's birthday is on the 25th!!

Totally agree on the non-hassle of doing things with Disney. Worth the extra $ for me to be less stressed!!! I have been traveling every week for work and will continue through cruise time. I have alot of gifts done, but still a long way to go. I actually have a crafty friend working on stuff for me now!!!

FE assembly is happening this weekend. I want to ship the stuff to Port ahead of time, so this is really my last weekend to get all this done. So far, I'm happy with how the stuff is turning out.

I typically ship the Monday before the cruise and use USPS Priority mail so it gets there Wednesday or Thursday. I would think you have at least this weekend and next, possibly a third weekend before you have to ship. Good luck assembling your FEs.

Yes, I totallly agree. If you are on a Disney excursion the ship will wait if you are late, but there is no waiting for non-Disney excursion so I never book one mostly for that reason.

On our first Eastern Carribean cruise we watched the Freedom of the Seas leave a man and woman because they were late:sad2:

I was sitting on my verandah and kept hearing the crew call for them. The horn sounded and 15 minutes later they left.

The woman was crying and the man looked confused as they watched the ship off in the distance sailing away.

All packed for St. Lucia:thumbsup2 Ernesto left today and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 83 degrees:cool1:

Now if we could just do something about that other tropical depression that is just forming:scared1:

Have a great trip! Soak up the sun for us!

Working on my FE this weekend too. Going to see if my sister will ship a box to me as my birthday present. We are ready for this cruise!:cool1:

The lastest version of the FE list will always be here http://jeffreylangdon.com/disneyCruise0825FEList.xlsx As more stateroom numbers are assigned I will keep updating the same spreadsheet. The most recent updates are Wayne, Jana, Ariella being assigned a stateroom and kymickeyfan717 added a favorite character. Still missing two favorite characters - Disneydonnam and Minie meese

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Could you please change our cabin to 7586?

Thanks,
Kim

Oh no!! Hope you are completely recovered in no time!!! And the cruise will be great for you to relax!

You got your room assignment! That's great, still waiting on ours. Are you happy with it?

Not really I was hoping for at least a Deluxe Inside but I may now see what it would cost for an VGTY not sure if I want to be in an inside now. There are a lot of verandas left so if it's not too much more I may go for it. Haven't been in an inside cabin since 1995, once you have a balcony you never want to go lower but got such a great deal on this that I couldn't pass it up!
What did you book?

I like all of the characters - Mickey is fine if you want to use one - my husband is not much of a Disney fan (I made him a tie dyed Grumpy shirt for one trip that he proudly wore :)

Thank you.

Jeff,
Favorite Characters is The Villains or Minnie Mouse
Donna

Thank you.

Stateroom number updated. Thank you.

FE Update: Looks like we are only missing one favorite chararcter: gdulaney. Ginny, when you get a chance can you post that?

The rest of the updates are for GTYs. It appears that since ship isn't full GTYs are taking longer than normal. I would imagine it should be soon since they have to mail out the luggage tags.

As I suspected, the captain of the Fantasy has changed the itinerary for today's cruise, they are going eastern instead of western because of Ernesto.

It's always good to keep in mind that the itinerary is at the captain's discretion. First and foremost, he has to think of the safety of the passengers and crew so itinerary changes do happen.

Its nice to know that there is human making smart decisions. :-)

I would much rather be in a safe place than in the middle of a storm! I've been on several cruises that had to skip a port because of bad weather, the poor staff was inundated with disgruntled passengers. We were in the elevator and one of the passengers asked if we were upset about not going to Bermuda, I said no that I would rather be safe and have a nice relaxing day at sea. She told us the reason she took this particular cruise was because it stopped in Bermuda, I then told her she should have booked a land trip lol!
Really some guests just need to complain about everything!! Enjoy it's your vacation!

The Port Adventures desk is going to be busy today. :goodvibes Now that I think about it, that is another reason not to book a non-Disney excursion since last minute cancellations can be problematic.

It sounds as though there are tons of rooms still available, and if 90% of the staterooms are verandah, I would think you have a good chance in upgrading. If you book GTY, are you still able to upgrade at the port?
