I kept asking myself the question all day today, why did DCL have the Christening in New York City

Many have said that it was because of the Dream sailing out of this port this summer but I think there was another reason that many haven't thought about.

And that is all of the construction that is going on at the new terminal that is supposed to open this summer. I have been watching the construction via the port canaveral web cam and they are not only building the terminal but they also appear to be doing some dredging in the turn around basin that would have served as a background for any DCL ceremony at their terminal.

Does anyone agree

On our last cruise we all had something to identify DISers. It allowed many folks who might not otherwise have a chance to meet share some of the fun times on the cruise. Even my husband who has never even looked at the boards had some great conversations with people because they were wearing a DIS ID.

The ID we had was a green mickey head. I coordinated the FE on that cruise and went ahead and laminated enough for about half of the folks on that cruise. Other people brought their own and people wore them on their lanyards or attached to hats. Since I'm not doing the FEs for this cruise I'd be happy to make enough Green Mickey Heads for everyone if we have a way to get them distributed. We had a meet on the first day and distributed them there. It worked out great but I will look to the folks coordinating the FEs to decide that. I have a Mickey die and a laminating machine so I have no problem doing this. They would look something like:

It is my pleasure to do this. I have the green paper. I'll get my granddaughters working on the cutting. It looks like we have about 175-200 people. If we make a few dozen a week it will be no problem at all and it will help them count down the time.
