Is anyone doing the Fish extender? I would love to sign up my family for it. I suppose it is a bit early, but I am too excited!

WELCOME!! I love your enthusiasm. I was going to wait until our 365 day mark to start up the fish extender exchange but if you want to start now that is great too. I will gladly head this up and JustTJ was going to help too, but if someone has a yen to jump in then go for it!!!
I will wait to hear what everyone wants to do, start now or later, who wants to head it up, or if TJ and I should do it.
Don't worry about stepping on toes, they are very tough and as long as we have an exchange I don't care when we start or who heads it up:banana::banana::banana:

Sorry to go, but we've moved our ressie to the 8/25 Magic out of NYC. Saving theairfare was just too good an opportunity to pass up.

Enjoy your cruise everyone. We'll have to try the fantasy another time.

I looked into the 8/25 out of NYC also. In the same cabin we have now, it would have been nearly $2000.00 more. And that's without trip insurance So, there would have been no savings for us, even considering the addition of airfare.

I suppose I could have tried a lower category cabin, but I wasn't prepared to give up my verandah.

We were in a cat T and the NYC cruise was $500 less and no airfare.

Envious! :thumbsup2 I think eliminating the hassle of air travel will probably only increase the relaxation value of your cruise. So, there is definitely that to consider.

I hope it's wonderful. I will love looking at the reports about how boarding is, etc. in New York. It might be something we would consider for 2013 (I have a dummy booking that I can easily shift), if they do it again and prices stabilize for the lower category cabins in the second go round.

Thanks. Some of their prces are insane. The 2 day for 2a2c in a cat T was $3980, but even an 11B was $1970. way too mch for nothing but one sea da and 5 meals.

Just wanted to let everyone know I have also moved to the 8/25/12 cruise out of New York. Sad to go but I think it was the right decision. On the surface the price looked to be a lot more, but once I figured out that we would not need airfare, extra night hotel, or transfers it came to about the same or even a little less plus the fact we get to do a day in Disney which if we did that on the Fantasy cruise we would have to even pay more and extra hotel and we get an extra day of vacation. For us it made sense living in MA.

I switched to the Aug 25 out of NY too. At first I didn't want to bc I thought it was way too expensive but we wrote down all of the costs and the NY cruise was about 500$ cheaper for us in the same category. Enjoy your cruise though! I do still hope to one day try an eastern carribbean one.

Given the fact that we are still so far off and there are quite a few changes going on, I say let's wait on the FE. :confused3

I'll second that. I'm sure we will have an FE, since a few of us have already expressed interest (and I will definitely participate!), but I would wait a few more months before trying to get a formal list together.

I am already thinking about ideas for gifts though.....

Welcome New Cruisers and Goodbye to some of old Cruisers, I guess when they announce new itinerarys there are bound to be some changes, enjoy your new cruises!!
I think I have page one up to date now, if not let me know and if you have any other info to be put up let me know that too.
I have done some research (DIS style) about the FE exchange and I am all over it, stay tuned on our one year mark to find out all the ins and outs of the Fish Extender Exchange for August 25, 2012.:banana::yay::cool1: 133 days till FE announcement:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey Christine. Please add my Mom to our group. She decided to join us for the cruise. As a result, we changed cabins from a Cat. 6 to a Cat. 4 and are now in Cabin 7102!

Thanks, Jane

Yippeee!!! We just booked today- we've been on the Magic twice (Nov. 01 and Nov.09), so we're very excited to try a new ship. "We" being me & hubby Joe so far. Haven't told the kids yet (DS David, who will be 14, and DD Eliana, who will be 10). For now, we're Cabin 2504 Cat 9B.

Hi! I just booked. It will be me and my DS who'll be 10. This will be our third cruise, we did a 3 day on the Wonder in 2007 and did the PC EB Repo in 2008. I had been waiting to see about the cruises from NY but we did a NCL cruise to the Bahamas last year so I figured we'd book the Fantasy and get to try the new ship. :goodvibes

Welcome! And New Yorkers like us, cool! We looked at the NYC cruises too, but weighing everything, we decided we would rather do the Eastern itinerary on the new ship.

My DD is 10 now and will be 11 at cruise time. My DS will be 6 at cruise time.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone for the next year!

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
I had to rescue us from page 5:scared1:
So has anyone made any pre or post cruise plans? We are travelling with 2 other families (I will see if they want to come on here and talk with all of you closer to the cruise, they already think I am nuts with the plans we have already made) we have rented 2 vacation homes in Windsor Hills for the 2 weeks before the cruise, that is right, a 3 week vacation. The house we rented for the first week is a 4 bedroom as just one of the other families and 3 of my kids will be going for that week. For the second week we rented a 6 bedroom with themed rooms for the kids, it is really beautiful!! http://www.vrbo.com/318549
We will do USO and IOA along with atleast a week at WDW.
What are your plans?

Our pre cruise plans thus far involve only the drive down. Yep, definately driving. I don't know how my mom and her BF plan on getting there, though he too has hinted at driving. So that will be 4 days right there added to the vacation, I don't know if we can add anymore than that. I would love to, would love to visit WDW again before the cruise, but don't know if it will be possible. Likely we'll be staying at CI&S again, close to the port. I find the drive itself is part of the holiday, at least going there, it is. The drive home is a different story though. We've done that drive twice now and both times the drive home was a real depressing time!!! LOL Though if I can swing it, I'd like to make a detour on the way home, and visit the CAKE BOSS's place in Hoboken NJ. Get some stuff to take home (gee, if I did, can I take pastries and a cake across the border?) THAT would be a great detour for me, and then if we went THAT far into NJ, then we'd just HAVE to make the trek to NY CITY!! and see Statue of Liberty!! :thumbsup2
