did I just see your name on on the 8/16/11 Dream??

I hope so!!!! We'll be on there.

Yes -- we're on it and so is Pudo (Jeff) and his family! We will be staying at the CIS the night before that cruise and then three days afterwards at the Wilderness Lodge. What are your plans?

Hi Beth!!!!

yay, so glad to see some familiar names!!! We're going down Thursday night late and staying at the MCO Hyatt, just easy for the first night. Friday morning we head down to BLT and will be there til Tuesday morning. Planning on doing 2 days in the parks and the rest by the pool.

Are you guys doing anything in Nassau? I'm thinking maybe Blue Lagoon Beach day, any thoughts??? I'm on the fence.

Not sure yet. I think we'll either go over to Atlantis for the beach or stay on the ship (though it sounds like the ship certainly won't be deserted in Nassau!). Steve and I are taking a 3-day DCL cruise in May without the kids and we plan on checking out the beach at Atlantis then. If we think that the whole Atlantis experience would appeal to our first grade girls, then we might try to get them there in August. But it is soooo much money and they are still little. There's no way Skye would ever want to go down any of the big waterslides, plus that aquadventure ticket is even more expensive! I need to check out the description of the Blue Lagoon Beach Day. Have you gone there before? I've also been reading about the hotel across from Atlantis that you can book a room just for the day to get the wristbands for Atlantis (and for a family of four it is cheaper than DCL). That's another option......

We did the Atlantis last time, it will be $450 for the 4 of us, my kids are older, 11 & 14, so they are pretty much charged the adult price on many of the excurstions. I can get it by booking CIS and that will give us full use of everything but, then it's another $70 or more for lunch. My kids and husb do everything, I lay in a chair. LOL!!! ok, well mayble lazy river once. Your kids will love the pool at the atlantis. It's really beautiful. The beach, I remember walking up and down, but, we didn't think it was anything great from what I remember.

The Blue Lagoon is $70 pp, we're all considered adults. It includes lunch and transportation. Looks nice, I see some decent reviews on Cruise critic. I haven't looked up any of the hotels, that might be a good idea too.

Well, it's been awhile since I posted, need to get back on the boards. Welcome Kim. Glad to see more Halloween cruisers aboard. We are doing Atlantis, don't remember what the excursion name is, but want to check out their waterpark. Really looking forward to this one, the airfare is crazy, but we got lucky and grabbed a $164 RT out of EWR to MCO so we're good to go. 3 days at Universal, 5 on the Dream, and then 3 at VWL. Can't wait.

Hey Jeff,

So nice to see another familiar cruiser!!!! You will love Atlantis, the slides are awesome-according to my kids. :)
Wow, that's some price you got on your flights!!! I paid more for one way!!! I had to wait to book as my older son was waiting to see if he was accepted to the magnet high school he had applied for. He has a one week boot camp but, luckily it's not the week of the cruise. He will just miss Friday which is the award ceremony. They grow up so fast!!!

Looking forward to vacation!!!

Kim

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to join in on the conversation since I just got done booking this cruise:)

It will be me, Justine, DH, Kevin and our 2 girls, Tate, who will be 14 on the cruise and Payton who will be 11.

We were booked on the August 16th 2011 cruise but due to my SIL's wedding and a few unplanned expenses we cancelled and switched to this cruise.

Hi and Welcome! I have a son and a daughter. My son will be 6 at cruise time. My daughter Allison will also be 11 by the time we cruise. I think we have a few girls on this cruise that are that age or very close, so hopefully they will be able to meet and have some fun together. :goodvibes

Regarding the chat regarding Nassau excursions: We did Blackbeard Cay. There is a stingray adventure portion to it, but you don't have to participate in that part if you don't want to (My mom and my son stayed on the beach). Blackbeard Cay is actually only half of the island...the other half is the "private" island for the Sandals Royal Bahamian resort.

We were happy with the excursion. Nice beach. Lunch was included (hot dogs, chicken, burgers, drinks). Alcohol was extra. My kids enjoyed the boat ride to and from the island.

It will be myself Portia, DH Shawn, DD Tade 12 at the time of sailing, and DS Sean 7 at the time of sailing. I look forward to chatting with you all over the next 17 months:)

This is turning out to be quite a crowd!! Good to see all the new additions:banana:

As for Nassau, we did Cabbage Beach for half the day. It was a quick and cheap taxi ride and was an awesome beach to swim and play at. The best part was that it was a public beach and free! We headed back to the ship early and our intent was to shower and head back out and do some shopping but the bed in the cabin kept calling our names and we succumbed :confused3. I would do it again!

This will be our first Disney cruise and only our second cruise ever!! I am sooooo excited!!! DH and I are hoping to renew our vows on this voyage to celebrate 10 years of marriage!!! :D
