Our pre cruise plans thus far involve only the drive down. Yep, definately driving. I don't know how my mom and her BF plan on getting there, though he too has hinted at driving. So that will be 4 days right there added to the vacation, I don't know if we can add anymore than that. I would love to, would love to visit WDW again before the cruise, but don't know if it will be possible. Likely we'll be staying at CI&S again, close to the port. I find the drive itself is part of the holiday, at least going there, it is. The drive home is a different story though. We've done that drive twice now and both times the drive home was a real depressing time!!! LOL Though if I can swing it, I'd like to make a detour on the way home, and visit the CAKE BOSS's place in Hoboken NJ. Get some stuff to take home (gee, if I did, can I take pastries and a cake across the border?) THAT would be a great detour for me, and then if we went THAT far into NJ, then we'd just HAVE to make the trek to NY CITY!! and see Statue of Liberty!!

I placed a call to the school board's offices today and asked about the change in school start dates. She told me that "I think that got voted down" banana, so I'm becoming hopeful again that we will be on this cruise (how will I be able to cruise without Judy after three cruises ?) It's just very strange that there hasn't been any official word that school won't be starting a week early after all the messages about changing it. They just have me in a constant state of

However, after my phone call I'm thinking about driving down. Maybe I'll take the kids to the parks and let DH fly down the day before and we can pick him up on our way to Cape Canaveral.

We are not sure what we are going to do yet. If I encounter a really good deal for WDW (last year I received a pin code that was good the week prior to our cruise) we may stay there for two or three days prior. If not, we may decide to just stay at one of the places local to the Port the night before.

I had to rescue us from page 5
So has anyone made any pre or post cruise plans? We are travelling with 2 other families (I will see if they want to come on here and talk with all of you closer to the cruise, they already think I am nuts with the plans we have already made) we have rented 2 vacation homes in Windsor Hills for the 2 weeks before the cruise, that is right, a 3 week vacation. The house we rented for the first week is a 4 bedroom as just one of the other families and 3 of my kids will be going for that week. For the second week we rented a 6 bedroom with themed rooms for the kids, it is really beautiful!! http://www.vrbo.com/318549
We will do USO and IOA along with atleast a week at WDW.
What are your plans?

We will be down the week before. We own a Wyndham Timeshare, so we will be at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek!

Don't punch me in the face, but we decided to move back to our original room because it has a murphy bed for my Dad!

We will be at WDW the week before the cruise. We own DVC so and I think we will book Villas at Wilderness Lodge... but we have never done Beach Club, so who knows : )

We just went on the Dream for Feb vacation and I couldn't keep my son off of the Aquaduck (he actually got suck in it one time!) and couldn't keep the girls out of the clubs or hanging out with friends. It was a great time and meet some fantastic people.

My teenage daughter and I are all about Disney...we are the Disney Freaks in the family, but my DH and two other kids are trying to convince us to change to Royal Carribean on the new Allure. I am trying to hold strong to DCL but we might get out numbered!

Right now we are booked in 5522 and 5520 connecting with Main dinning and the 9pm show.

Hope to see you all in 2012!

Hello All,

Just booked about a week ago. We are a family of 5 in adjoining cabins on deck 7. Sherry, Dave, Brian-16, Erin-15 and Daniel-12. This will be our 1st Disney cruise. We go to Disney almost every year and stay at the Beach Club, and the kids are up for a new adventure! Very excited to experience Disney aboard the high seas!

After much deliberation, we just can't make this cruise work this time around. My oldest DD will be heading to High School that fall, and plans on being in the Marching Band. We have no idea what that means, but at this point having her out of the county the week before school starts does not seem like the best idea...so no cruise for us...

Looks like a WDW trip will have to suffice...

Looks like we will be on this sailing! Now I just need to work out the logistics with the family.

There will be four of us:

Me (Scott)
DW (Kristine)
DD1 (Hannah) age 14 when we sail
DD2 (Emma) age 10 when we sail

We pretty much keep to ourselves on board, but I'm always interested in getting my kids familiar with the other kids prior to the trip, so I thought I would post now to say "hello".

Hi! Suzannecat. We were on the November 28, 2009 cruise too. It started on my 55 birthday. I thought I recognized your name from that cruise & looked up other threads you had been on and that is what came up.

DH (Jim) & I (Bev) are planning on booking this cruise next week while we are on the Dream.

I was really surprised to see this thread at 20 pages already for a cruise that is sooooo far away. Hope it doesn't take as long to get here as the one we're taking next week did. We had 18 nmonths between the 2009 cruise & next weeks and there will be 15 month between that one and this one. DH, of course needs a trip to WDW in between to hold him over. He was a bit disappointed that I didn't plan a trip to the parks before or after our cruise next week. We were just there in September 2010, but he just loves it there.

We haven't been onboard since 09 but did do WDW with our non-Disney timeshare this past Thanksgiving. It's getting harder and harder to take the kids out of school as they get older so the Aug. cruise will be our first foray into "in-season" travel...
