August 24, 2014 Dream DVC Member Cruise

Hello, all! We've gone on two cruises and are planning to go on the 2015 DVC MC. Am trying to budget for the future. Would have to do partial points or cash payment. I hope this isn't too forward. Could anyone give me a rough estimate as to how much more expensive it is to book a MC vs a regular cruise? Our cabin would include DW, DH, DD, DS. Thank you in advance! :)

For those who have been on the MC before, what kind of gifts do you get each day. Has that been posted already?

One reference to use would be the DVC facebook accounting of the last MC. On the January cruise, we got the DVC Monopoly, a suitcase gift that had little things in it like a water bottle, picture frame, and I can't remember much else. We got the ears that blinked during the pirate fireworks. On the 2005 MC we got pins every night and then a litho of the ship with Minnie and Mickey. I would prefer pins and a litho to most of the other things but that's me.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Hope you all had a nice one. We did. And now back to vacation planning!!!

Kendzee, I think we will just put Lauren into the teen/tween group of the FE. It's a little scary to think of her as in that group for me...they grow up so fast!!

Has anyone confirmed that we have 2 days at Castaway Cay or has it been changed to what my confirmation says a day at Nassua?

The itinerary on the DCL website is not correct. The member cruise will have 2 stops at CC as noted on DVCMember.com.

Member Cruise Special Itinerary

Members have claimed the island! What's better than a day in paradise? Two days in paradise!

Our community's shared passion for all things Disney extends to the voyage's itinerary, which features two scheduled stops at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, bookending an activity-filled day at sea.

From the vibrant shores of Family Beach to the tranquil stretches of Serenity Bay, paradise joins the Disney Vacation Club neighborhood

DCL will need to correct the itinerary prior to the Concierge & Platinum excursion booking window which opens 120 days prior to sailing.

My BFF Megan and I are in room 6082 wahooooooo! Im so excited!!! This is my first members only cruise! :cool1:

My husband surprised me with our first Disney Cruise on Christmas. Excited because I hear the members cruises are great! I am going to have to look through this tread and do some reading because I have no clue what to expect, pack or plan for! Pointers are welcome! See y'all in August!!! :wave2:

Need names?

This is our first Disney Cruise and first MC. Only been on one other cruise before on Royal Caribbean.

I have so many questions!

1. Pirate Night? Do folks go "all out" for this?

2. Will we need to get tickets for shows ahead of time?

3. Since I want to be sure and eat all our dinners as a family, are the adult-only "fancier" restaurants open for lunch?

I'm really looking forward to meeting some disfriends! :)

1. Pirate Night? Do folks go "all out" for this?
Some do, others don't
2. Will we need to get tickets for shows ahead of time?
No. If you have main seating (5:45) for dinner you go to the 8:30 show. If you have second seating (8:15) you go to the 6:15 show.
3. Since I want to be sure and eat all our dinners as a family, are the adult-only "fancier" restaurants open for lunch?
Only for Brunch on sea days, reservations required.

Definitely not too late for Candy Exchange! Should I add you to that? People expressing interest now...will be asking for cabin #s later. I will keep groups in 8-11 cabin size. Final sign ups will be later, in June, I will ask for cabin numbers. People will know how many packages they will be giving out about 6 weeks before sailing...something like that. We will only go by Disboard names I think...never needed actual names.

Some folks definitely go all out for Pirate Night!
Shows are "come & find your own seats."
There are Brunches on Sea days.

I also love meeting new Disboard friends!
