QOTD: What are some of the not so well known things you've done at Disney? QUOTE]

I sent DH bass fishing and he loved it. I set it up thru the conceirge at POP and wow. He caught a huge fish. He was able to see lots of disney that you normally don't while on the pontoon on the river. He was one c:cloud9:

Good Morning August Disers!
Last night we made a spur of the moment decision and decided we're going to try to change our February trip to a surprise Christmas trip instead. We'd go the week before Christmas.
I had a free dining pin so we're going for it. Guess when my ADR window opens? Umm.. tomorrow morning:scared:
So I have a hefty day of December planning ahead.
In the end it could all be for not. Dh might not be able to get that week..though he thinks he'll be done.
So my head is in December for today.
We plan for two vacations a year, so technically the December trip would be one of our 2013 vacations. The second one is going to be camping/cabin or the mountains. I've always wanted to see the Christmas festivities at Disney so I am excited. But it will be the last trip for quite some time.
Might as well go out with a bang though.:rotfl:

Take 'em when you can get them pigletto! Thus my two trips planned with in a week of each other. The August on is coming up fast and then my May DIS MOMs 5 is a long way off but they came to be all within the same week. Good luck with ADRs. :thumbsup2

We've done the Around the World on a Segway Tour, the Behind the Seeds tour at the Land pavilion (cheap and short if you're looking to do a tour but don't want to spend a ton or take up half your day) and most recently we've done the Wild Africa Trek tour which was expensive but AMAZING!!

We've also done the Lunch With an Imagineer.

QOTD: What are some of the not so well known things you've done at Disney?

Hmmm, I really have to think about that one. I guess for one is renting a pontoon boat from one of the MK resorts and cruising Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake Area. This is our favorite thing to do on a down day. I have taken some really great pictures of MK and the surrounding resorts from there.

Another one, but more for the adults, is the Monorail Crawl. On our trip in 2007, my ILs came along with us so DH and I took advantage of a free babysitter. We had dinner at California Grill (first time eating there and have been a must do ever since) and then we decided to head down and just sit and let our stomachs digest with a beer for DH and a coffee and Baileys for me :cloud9:. The bartender we were talking to asked if we were going to be doing the Monorail Crawl....we were like "Huh????". So explained it to us and we thought that seemed like so much fun that that is what we did :goodvibes.

We have done...

- Keys to the Kingdom Tour (excellent for any Disney fan!)

- Around the World on a Segway (loved this)

- Carriage Ride around Fort Wilderness (did this at Christmas time, lovely to see the decorations but it was a very, very cold night - maybe the Haunted Halloween one would be better!)

- Speciality Fireworks Cruises - Illuminations and Wishes (both were fantastic, doing another this summer!)

This year we're trying Behind the Seeds and Wild Africa Trek tours.. very excited for both of these :thumbsup2

54 days to go... the weeks are flying now! :woohoo:

Emma princess:x

You can add us to the list too! My DBF & I will be going from August 22-September 1 and staying at All Star Sports!! Very excited because we will be celebrating my birthday! It's the first trip to Disney that I've planned & I have can't believe it's already only two months away!! Hope all of my fellow August visitors have a great time!

QOTD: What are some of the not so well known things you've done at Disney?

I know that this may be more well known than not but it's as close as we've come. We have gone resort hopping to see all the holiday decorations when we were down there for Christmas :santa: and New Years.

If I see some really good ones on here, I may have to work them in to my plans, so I say, bring it on!!! :woohoo:

I can't think of anything we've done that's not well known. I've been on these boards so long I don't feel like anything isn't commonly known anymore:rotfl:

Booked my ADR's for December today. I've been thinking of ways to surprise the kids with it all day. I think as of now the plan will be to make them Advent calendars and put little treats in them for the days leading up to Christmas.
In the space for the 13th I will simply put a little note that says "Merry Christmas .. You're going to Disney today!". I'll get them to open them at the same time:santa:. It will be wonderful!

Now. Back to August planning. :)

Hey everyone! I just had a question for you all.

Is anyone doing Dine With an Imagineer anytime in August? If so, did you make the ADR for it at 180 days? My mom and I have been trying to get an ADR for it for a while now and no one can seem to give us an answer as to when you make it.

I saw someone posted that you can make the dessert party ADRs now so I thought that maybe you could make the Dine With an Imagineer ADRs too.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks! :goodvibes

Joining the group a little late but we will be at Bonnet Creek from Aug 5-Aug 12. Our trip was moved from June yesterday to August due o the loss of a DGD. Trying to convince myself we be able to have a good time in August. Have to do this for the other DGKids or I would have cancelled altogether. Please put us on the list.

When I did it, it was 60 days in advance. But that was in 2007 so it could've changed since then.

I forgot, we are doing the YES program which as far as I know is not that commonly known. My ods will do the science and synergy at Epcot with DH. Wouldn't not have been my first pick for a class but he is excited.
