QOTD: Do any members of our Team have a favorite resort, and for those that stay offsite only- we wanna hear about those places too!!:wizard:

My family's fave is POR and the Poly. Unfortunately I was unable to snag a POR room for this Summer-but I did get the FQ, so we can still take a stroll up to POR. The Poly will have to wait until next year....:rolleyes1

I have always loved to visit AKL but this is our first trip staying there, we also love visiting Poly but have not stayed. We will eat there twice this trip, ohana breakfast and Kona lunch.
We enjoyed CBR a lot, the pool was fab for my boys and pirate room was fun. (Other then that we stayed at ASMovies which was fine)

If we ever consider an onsite trip again, DH would definitely push for POR. That's where we stayed in 2009 and he loved the feel of the resort. It was so peaceful (and exactly what we needed after long days at the busy parks). It was also beautiful and lush.....which was much appreciated by these three Canucks as our visit fell during our harsh Canadian winter. Seeing lots of green was just what the doctor ordered.

The boys much preferred the theming of the mods to the values (the big Disney icons don't give them the same thrill they give me), though I could totally see DS loving All Star Sports (the basketball section, of course) if we chose to do a budget trip.

If we ever get the chance to go deluxe, our picks would be (in this order): the Poly, the treehouses at SSR, Wilderness Lodge, and Boardwalk Inn. The Contemporary and the Grand Floridian held zero appeal for us (I know, we are weird).

For our family we have 2 favorite resorts :goodvibes. We love staying at POFQ if we are going to stay in a moderate and BC/BCV if we are going deluxe. We love everything about POFQ from the pool, the atmosphere, the ferry to DTD, and the fact that it is much smaller then the other moderate resorts. As for BC/BCV we love both of them because of the location between 2 parks, SAB, the atmosphere, the decor, the smell of the lobby when you first walk in, and the staff is always so friendly. However for our next trip we are going to be staying at both Poly and BLT so those may be on our lists in the future :lmao:

Then so am I, because I have no desire at all to stay at the CR. Im so glad WDW has many different themes for their resorts, so everyone finds somewhere they love:love:

Hands down the Wilderness Lodge. It's like heaven there for me.

When I did it, it was 60 days in advance. But that was in 2007 so it could've changed since then.

Thanks you so much, but both my mom and I have tried to get an ADR for it everyday and our 60 day mark just passed. So maybe they did change it? :confused3 Who knows though.

Almost had a heart attack today when i went to make our plane ticket changes (just had to move our trip to Aug from Nov due to work conflicts) and the fare went up $200 WHILE I was trying to book them!

Luckily it went back down before the transfer was complete - must have been a glitch or something. I think the Jetblue reps where glad to get me off the phone!

Phew - it's done and we are all booked!

ETA: So far my fav is probably POR but hoping it is soon to be AoA!

AOA just looks awesome doesnt it?? We'll be checkin it out when we're at Pop for a couple days.....I've never seen the movie Cars yet(I know, shameful:rolleyes:) but I think the Cars section looks very impressive!

Happy Planning!!:flower3:

Our favorite resort is the Poly. We will be staying there again on our trip in September 2013. For our trip in August, we are staying at POFQ. It will be the first time my family has stayed there, but I did a girls only trip last September.

QOTD: Favorite Resort on or off property?

Our favorite resort is Contemporary Resort. We like it because it represents the Quintessential Disney Resort. It was there from the beginning and still is.

We love most of the looks of the resorts on property and want to stay at least once at each resort and they each have their own personality. But in the end, I love the CR.

(But ask me about my list in September after our stay at AoA and see if it has changed any..:lmao: )

I think our family enjoyed the Poly the best... location, the grounds, the monorail and great food choices, just could not have been better. That said, we are on a mission to stay at as many different resorts as possible. Our August trip will be starting at ASMo and then moving on to POR staying in a Royal Room as a surprise to my girls!

I have heard so many wonderful things about POR and POFQ that I think we will really enjoy the second part of our trip.

So excited to be going back!

Our only onsite experience was Pop and we loved it. Of course, we had 2 rooms that connected so it didn't feel as small to us as it would to those in 1 room. Anytime we saw any castmembers, no matter what their job, they always said hello and most would ask if we've had a good day or where we were off to or if we were enjoying ourselves.

Going to WDW Aug 5-12 with DH, DD22, and DD18. Celebrating youngest daughter's graduation from high school with big trip before she leaves for college! We are REALLY splurging (for us) by staying at the Grand Floridian. Never stayed at monorail resort, or any Deluxe. The kids DON'T KNOW about GF. ;)They think we are staying at POR. DD18 has dreamed of staying at GF since she was 3, and DH finally says to me one night "If you don't do it now, what the heck are you waiting for?", so I did! (Nothing at all against POR, we stayed there and at POFQ before and they are great; loved the boat to DTD). Haven't been to WDW since 2007, so we are all VERY excited!!!:dance3:

Welcome :goodvibes and what an awesome present that you are giving your DD. I am sure both your DDs will be extremely excited when they find out where you all are REALLY going to be staying at :cool1:. How are you going to do the "Big Reveal"? Are you going to tell them before you leave, or wait until you pull up to the resort? I just love reading about surprise trips :goodvibes.
