How about....What are your arrival day plans?

Good one! We land about 3:00 p.m., so we plan to check in, make a grocery run, maybe swing by Downtown Disney to pick up PhotoPass+, and then explore the hotel/swim/eat. (Maybe not necessarily in that order.) Then it's early to bed for a full day at MK on Monday!

How about....What are your arrival day plans?

We will be arriving on 8/28 and landing at 12:30pm. I hope to be at the Poly by 1:30 or 2pm (hopefully DME won't take too long). If the room is ready, then we will go check that out and drop off our carry-ons, if not, then we will check our stuff in with Bell Services then head over to Kona Cafe for some lunch. Afterwards, we will take a monorail ride to the TTA to transfer to the Epcot line. For dinner we don't have much plans but everyone voted that we try the Mexican QS restaurant...by that time I could go for a festive Margarita .

We tried it on our last trip and loved it! Great nachos, empanadas, and (especially) churros!!

This is great to hear...we have been looking at the pictures/menu of the different food items offered there and everything looks awesome (especially the nachos and churros ). I think it was those same suggestions that made everyone vote for that QS restaurant :goodvibes.

I am so happy to be joining this thread!!! My husband and I will be at WDW with our 3 children. We will be staying at CBR from 8/26 to 9/1. We are so excited!!! :yay:

Our plane doesn't arrive until 6:30 p.m. ..... taking the afternoon flight saved us a ton of $$$. And this way, I don't have to peel my teen son out of bed for the 7 am ;) .

I am hoping we touch down a bit early.....we did on both JetBlue flights we took earlier this year.

Once we land, we will grab our rental car then hit Cici's Pizza for dinner (my DS loves  this place......a sixteen year old boy and all you can eat pizza is always a winner :thumbsup2). Then we will check into our resort, explore the property a little if there's time before nightfall, and hopefully enjoy an evening swim & just a night of relaxing. We are *determined* this will not be a rush, rush, rush vacation. Like a PP, we will be up early the following morning.....we have an appointment to get our family photos done at a studio in the Florida Mall, followed by some shopping at House of Hoops for the boy, then we will hit Wet & Wild after lunch (or maybe drive to Cocoa Beach :woohoo:).

Arrival Day plans: We should get to Pop around 11:30. Since it's our first time at Pop, Id like to spend some time acquainting ourselves with the resort. Then it's off to Epcot for afternoon touring and dinner at Teppan Edo topping off our day with Illuminations (a family first-night tradition:cloud9:)

Hey fellow August DIsers.... I'm getting pretty excited!!!! Since summer always flies by, it's just a matter of time before we're all sweltering under the WDW heat :)

Yeah, but as others said, I'd much rather be sweltering in Disney!! :cloud9:

Oh and don't you know it :goodvibes...my kid's last day of school is Friday (they are only there for an hour). We have so many things planned for the summer. DH and I are driving my kids down to see their grandparents for a week on Friday night, then of course we became members at our local pool (hoping to get a really nice tan before we go), then DH and I are planning on some fun outings for our family throughout the Summer. Before we know it, it will be August 28th and we will be on a plane heading to our "Happy Place" :woohoo:. The only sad thing is, before we know it, Summer will be gone :sad1:.

I'm trying not to wish my summer away. We have a pool, so I intend on spending alot of time in it. It's only 4ft deep, but that's plenty to play in and lounge around. We've decided we just don't have time for camping this summer. My hubby is building an addition and doing some landscaping and we just don't see fitting camping in. Besides, I really am not that fond of it! :scared:

Yay!!! Someone else who is staying at CBR!! :cool1: Our trips overlap by 2 days so maybe we'll see you there! I always have my lime green Mickey head on something I'm carrying, so I'm easy to spot (hopefully). Please say hi if you see me!

How about....What are your arrival day plans?

We will be arriving at WDW early 08/22/2012 and we will spend a little bit of time exploring the resort, then head to DTD to get ear hats for the four kids. We will spend our evening at Chip and Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at the Fort Wilderness resort. Can you see wicshes from this beach? if so Iwould like to try and see that.

Let's see.... our arrival day plans are usually getting to the hotel using Magical Express. We will be landing in Orlando at 3:25pm and I'm hoping to be at our resort by 4:30ish. We then will head to DTD for our ADR at Planet Hollywood for 6:15pm. Planet Hollywood is an arrival day tradition. Then it will be back to the resort for a swim and relaxation!

We get in really late. I think we land at 10:30 pm. The reasoning behind that was I could still work a full day. I almost prefer it that way. We'll pick up our rental car and go check in to Royal Pacific at Universal and go to sleep. When we wake up in the morning we're already there and can head over to the parks. We'll save our early entry Harry Potter day for the next day.:)
I called and switched our reservation to AoA this afternoon. So it's official. 28 minute phone call. Disney needs a 1-800 number. Especially for people who can't make up their minds;)

Welcome to the August thread!! Not long to go now:)

WHAT???!!! They haven't installed your own line yet? What is Disney's problem anyways??? :confused3:rotfl:

I know!! :rotfl: I could save them a lot of manpower hours if they would give us the ability to cancel and change on the website:rotfl:
Of course, I, and others like me, would probably crash the servers so maybe it's better that they don't!:rotfl:

Arrival Day Plans:

We have a 6am flight and are scheduled to land at 8:39am!! Normally, we would settle in and have an easy morning/afternoon and then go out for the evening but we are taking DH's niece with us this time (her first trip!) so we're going straight to the MK! I'm sure we'll crash by like 8pm!

Thank you everyone for the welcome.

We still don't have flights:rolleyes1 I have been holding out for the prices of the flights to go down, but I am about to call uncle. My husband refuses to drive down from NJ.

Seeing everyone's plans is starting to make me nervous.

I am in the same situation. I will probably buy in the next week.

Do you guys have Southwest from your airports? They announced a summer sale yesterday and some dates were pretty good prices out of Buffalo.. so I imagine you'd see similar prices in NJ. Also, they are "rumoured" to be having a sale in June (Birthday sale) so it might be worth waiting to see how that pans out.

I don't think they're going down. They are pretty low. Where do you fly out of? We always take Continental (now United) out of Newark and it's $262/person round trip. At first, I thought that was high BUT that's the price out the door. They don't get you with those sneaky fees at the end anymore, they have to show the final price up front so it looked more than we were used to but comes out to be about the same.

That's not bad at all really. I was thrilled to get flights for 300 per person return (non stops) out of Buffalo. I don't think you'll see anything much lower this year.
