Did anyone happen to notice that Pigletto changed the resort subject?? That was smooth! I bow down to you! :lmao: I'm just teasing you!

Normally, my favorite ride is Test Track, but I can't ride that one this time around. It's so funny, my hubby and I were just out to lunch and talked about this same question. My response to him and all of you is I'm looking forward to how I feel in Disney. I'm so happy and carefree when I'm there. I don't worry about anything and I can act as silly as I want. I walk into the resort room and just be......I know that sounds absolutely crazy, but it's so true! Of course my favorite rides are ToT, RnR etc. Again, I just enjoy being there....:woohoo:

So you caught that did you?:rolleyes1

And you don't sound silly at all! These trips get me through some tough days. When the weather has been awful and cold for months, or when we've been working like crazy and there's no end in sight, I plan Disney.
When I get there it's like it all melts away for the time being. We love it!
And then we come home ready to tackle whatever is next.:)

I am most excited to see the shows! Like Festival of the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the little Mermaind (my all time faave movie), etc.

I have decided not to' upgrade our free dining plan, but we will do a couple table service, I have 'Ohana breakfast booked for our departure day breakfast. I would like 1 other character meal, what is everyones suggestions? (the girls do not make princesses a priority, not ruling them out just not absolutely necessary) I am thinking arrival day dinner since we are not hitting a park this day....

What ride/show/activity are you most excited for this trip?

For me? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with dd's friend. We are all Potter fanatics and dd's friend is just going to be in awe! I can't wait to be there when she sees it!! I am also looking forward to the new Despicable Me ride at Universal!

Hmmmm......I have to pick just one?

I would say I am most excited about our Aquatica days. We have two full days planned so far with cabana rentals each day. This will be a first-time for us and we are HUGE waterpark fans, so its a much-anticipated activity.

I am also excited for my first trip to the ocean  and we are totally looking forward to another day at Discovery Cove (we also have a cabana rented for the day here as well :cool1: ).

Then there's Wet & Wild, the Outta Control Dinner Show, and maybe an airboat ride (all "firsts" for us)......ah heck, I am excited about the whole darn thing! :lmao:

pigletto, you will LOVE The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Have a Butterbeer for me, will ya? :thumbsup2

The Ohana breakfast was our favourite character meal of our 2009 trip. Fantastic character interaction, delicious food, and it was so much fun to see the Poly.

Taking second spot was Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom. Again, great character interaction (complete with a Pooh-rade :thumbsup2) and fantastic food.

We also did Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary (dinner), Tusker House at Animal Kingdom (breakfast), and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (dinner). They were all great, but Chef Mickeys had by far the most inferior food of the five.

oh yeah, one more question, is there anyway to know the exact price for the buffet on our days? we are a party o 7 so 18% tip is automatically added and I would like to have the money all ready....(yes I am an overplanner...lol)

O.k....It is my turn to ask a Question of the Day :goodvibes

Do you purchase the DDP, if so which one do you purchase?

We purchased the DDP for the two of us going, we got the one with one quick service, one snack, and one sit-down meal a day. We use our sit-downs at dinner, our quick-service for breakfast and our snack mid-day, if we want more food, we will pay out of pocket. It's really more than enough for us! :thumbsup2

August is almost here!!!!!! This is my first photo post. It's our countdown calendar. With the help of my daughter we are thinking of posting our first trip report. The last two trips were going to but never got around to it but since I am not working anymore I will have lots of time.

I love this, I wish I had something like that! :)

That is an amazing countdown calendar...I bet you and your daughter had a blast making that. I showed DD11 your calendar and now she wants us to make one for our trip that is coming up ....and here I thought I was done with crafty type projects until next school year :rotfl:.

What ride/show/activity are you most excited for this trip?

Great question...we actually have a couple of activities that we are most excited for on our trip. We are going to BB, TL, and DisneyQuest all for the first time . I have been wanting to go to the WPs for a while now, but for some strange reason my DH thought the kids were too young before :sad2:, these are the same two kids that have been going to the water park by my DILs house for some time now. Oh well, since they are 11 and 8, I won't have to worry too much about them since they are pretty strong swimmers too. As for DisneyQuest, this was a suggestion by both of my DDs, DH and I could take it or leave it. However, after reading some of the attractions inside, DH and I are becoming more excited about it...can't wait to try some of the virtual activities :goodvibes.

Looks like a lot of Disboards peeps will be at AoA with us -- we arrive on Aug 25 to Sept 2 (Finding Nemo suite) after a 5 day Bahamas cruise pirate:

We really wanted to do Disney THEN the Cruise, but Free Dining just didn't work out on the dates we were looking for -- so we flipped them around! :rotfl:

Our family always does a countdown calendar before our trips. Ours looks similar to yours. We use the Mickey Head paint chips from Home Depot. She wanted to do a 60 or 70 day countdown this time but we are moving in early July so I told her that we will do a 45 day countdown. We will be in our house for 2 days when we start the countdown. That way it doesn't get lost, thrown out or damaged in the move. She okayed that.

As for the what am I looking forward to most question, I think I am most excited about staying at a new resort and seeing all the new decor at Art of Animation!! I am also super excited about having the deluxe dining plan for our family and doing 9 new restaurants. All of us will be on the adult menu for the first time and the kids are excited about trying all kinds of new and good foods. I can't wait for this trip.

OUr little family has had some crazy not so great things going on this past year and we really need to have some fun family time together. I think that is one other thing that I am really looking forward to for this trip. Together fun in our favorite vacation spot. We will all be on :cloud9:

Hello fellow Canuck! We'll be there at the same time (August 26th to Sept 3rd) in Nemo too!!!
I read your post about your tooth accident. I'm so sorry to hear that:sad2:
Hopefully your insurance reimburses you quickly? Do you mind me asking who you are with? We've had Sunlife and Manulife and both paid upfront with our dentist. Might be worth looking into.

And RetroCOTfan and donthrowsand will both be there at or around the same time too!

Are we all staying in Nemo?
I think we'll be requesting a lake view. I am a bit of a light sleeper so I bring earplugs but I worry a little bit about pool noise. So shhhhhhh!!!!:rotfl:

ETA) I missed Disneymomfanatic too! Wow! That's a bunch of us isn't it!! I can't wait to hear Nemo and Dori underwater in the pool. I think the kids will love that!

We had to request the Cars section - my DS4 (almost 5) has loved Cars since he was 2, so half his life! We really want to get to DLR to see the new CarsLand, but I don't know when that will be possible because I'm starting a new job in August, so we went for the next best thing. I can't wait to take pictures with the kids and all 11 of the Cars characters in the AoA courtyard!

I let ds pick too since dd gets to bring a friend (she's 15, he's 8). I was very surprised that he had a hard time chosing between Nemo and LionKing. I was sure it would be Cars!
In the end Nemo won, because Lion King makes him sad. We watched it while daddy was at work one evening last year and he was so sad when Mufasa died that we had to pause the movie and call daddy at work to check on him! He enjoyed the rest of the movie though.

Haha - yeah, I think we've only watched that part one time straight through. The rest of the time we have to fast forward. :sad1:

We should all meet at the pool bar - i will be the one with the perfect teeth that doesn't talk much :):rotfl: :rotfl:

I am with Manulife -- i should give them a call and see if they can pre-pay .. that would be awesome!

Hey There!

Excited to see all the chatter about August trippers! I looked at the list on the first post and almost had a heart attack when my dates were wrong. Then I remembered that I had provided them and it was ok!

Anyhow, the trip has changed and now I am even more excited. We are a party of 11 with people arriving and leaving on different days, so it will be a little crazy!

New plan:

My family of four arrive Aug 11th to 2 bedroom BLT-
Friends-Family of five arrive Aug 12th to stay in 2 bedroom BLT
My sister and son arrive Aug 14th to stay at AofA in Lion King Suite.
August 18th-We check out of BLT, My family moves to 2 bedroom SSR
My sister and her son move to 2 bedroom SSR with us.
Friends family of 5 move to AofA for just one night in Lion King Suite.
August 19th-Friends family of 5 move to SSR two bedroom.
Aug 25th-Sister and nephew go home.
My family of four moves to CBR for two nights.
26th-Friends go home
27th-My family goes home.

So I get to experience 4 resorts! Woo Hoo! (I think we will all be over at AofA checking it out! Looks awesome...)

Honestly, I am so excited that I don't even know what to be most excited about!
