What is our favorite WDW restaurant??..Hmmmmm, of course I haven't been to a whole lot of them, but lets' see....

The one that comes to mind for the most fun in the 50's Prime Time Cafe in HS! The food is ok, but I absolutely love the whole theme and concept. Both my hubby and I got "in trouble" for various things such as not eating veggies and not setting the table. It was a riot! :lmao:

We're mostly counter-service people, but we love 50's Prime Time, too! It's such a unique, fun atmosphere and good ol' comfort food really hits the spot after a week of burgers and hot dogs. :)

hahaha that happened to me when we went too! our first time to 50's prime time and as we were walking in I saw someone being pointed out and scolded for something and I turned to my mom and said... "just watch, that's going to happen to me" and of course.. it did :rotfl:.

Arrival day -
We're set to arrive at the orlando airport at 12:30 - we are hoping to be at PORFQ and checked in by 2:30-3 (not sure if that's reasonable though) and then we are going to check out the resort and swim for a short amount of time and then head over to DTD for dinner at the rainforest cafe at 5pm and then we have preferred viewing for wishes at 8:45pm! After all of that it's straight to bed!

our favourite TS -
this is easy for us... SCI FI! we just love the atmosphere and we are all very picky eaters so a simple burger hits the spot for us :goodvibes

QOTD: Our favorite TS restaurant...

Mine is, without a doubt, 50's primetime. I love the kitch and comfort. It reminds me of my grandparents kitchen from when I was young.

Family favorite is Teppan Edo. We love the food and show. :thumbsup2

Now I will have to let you know if these change after our vacation in August because we are trying several new restaurants this trip.... :rolleyes1

We have not been yet, but I am most excited to try Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time, and 'Ohana breakfast....I am glad to see lots of positive words for 50's. I think i ended up wth 2 HS ts because the counter service there gets HORRIBLE reviews!

Hi guys! I've been lurking for months, and I finally decided to register today. I actually went to high school in Orlando, so Disney was my stomping ground when I was a kid. I typically go back every year or two to visit friends and family (and always with a stop at Downtown Disney!), but this August, my husband and I are heading down for Star Wars Celebration, and we decided to make a longer trip of it and visit the parks while we're down there. This will be the first time I've been there in the last 6 years or so, and my husband hasn't been there since he was a kid, so I'm excited to see what has changed and show off my former hometown. We're going to be in Orlando from August 18-26 and will be staying offsite. As much as I'm dreading going back to that heat (I used to pass out all the time in the summers from it...), I can't wait!

Welcome!! (To the DIS and to this thread!)

We'll be there the same time, and I wasn't aware Celebration was going on. I'm familiar with the event, but not with how big the crowds are. Does anyone here expect this to impact park touring that week?

The Star Wars Celebration is at the Orange County Convention Center. Even though Coronado Springs is offering a discounted room price to these convention goers, there will not be a shuttle bus to the convention goers who stay at Coronado. There are many other hotels that are offered that do offer shuttle buses.

I don't really think it will have any major impact on the parks.

Thanks - I suspect that you're right about there being a minimal impact on the parks, I just wanted to hear someone else say it! Our last trip was the week of Christmas, and we are looking forward to a trip that is 5-6 on the crowd calendar, not 8-10.

If we don't have a question of the day, here's one! sorry if it has been asked already!

QOTD: How do you respond to the bah humbuggers who try to ruin your excitement with a reminder about the weather such as how hot it is or how it is hurricane season?

I just smile and say at least I will be at Disney. The one advantage I have is that most people don't say anything to me about the heat since they know the heat doesn't bother me.

You tell them that your friend pigletto has been 3 times in the last week of August and keeps going back because it's a blast, it's totally manageable, the crowds are great and the discounts are awesome. But if they want to pay twice as much for the same trip and higher crowds then by all means go ahead;)

Seriously.. let them think it's awful. More room for us!:rotfl:

So after not getting a PIN in years... I just got the illusive free dining pin with dates until Christmas.

Nooooooooooo!!!! I've always wanted to see the Christmas decorations and the kids would love that as their present and we'd go before the crowds got there AND we have AP's. We could do the whole trip for about 2000 if we stayed at a value!!

Or as my husband just said "You know that just because they send you a free dining PIN it doesn't mean you are required to use it right? It's not mandatory".

Funny guy.:rolleyes1

I definitely tell them Pigletto says it's ok!!!!! :rotfl2:

So excited, just booked today for the 26-30. Going to be a mother/ son trip with DS14! Not telling him til we pull into the airport!! Poor kid used to being up early and heading to the city for medical tests that he won't question when I tell him we gotta be out early. Figure this will be a good time to get in some good quality time together before he gets too grown up on me. :cool1::banana::dance3:
