T-Rex does not give Disney the rights to book all their tables. You should call them directly as they do their own bookings. Give them a call and I bet they have much more availability than the computer was showing.

Ahh! you're wonderful! we called the T-Rex directly and now have our reservations for 6:30pm on the 23rd of august! haha thank you so much!

Looks like some great restaurants! We really liked Yak & Yeti when we ate there.. it was a few years ago now but I'd definitely like to eat there again :thumbsup2.
Teppan Edo might be a bit early after lunch at Biergarten - although it's not huge amounts of food, so might be ok? :goodvibes

Boma & Flame Tree BBQ too.. mmmm!

wow you got some great ADRs! :goodvibes We did an early Crystal Palace breakfast on our last morning for our honeymoon, loved being in the Magic Kingdom when it was so quiet :cloud9:

Have you been to Boatwrights before? I'm considering it for our trip in October, never been over to POR before so I thought we could explore the resort and then have dinner there.

Our ADRs are..

8/10 - Tusker House - 8am
8/12 - Sci Fi Dine In - 12.15pm
8/13 - Teppan Edo - 7.10pm
8/15 - Sanaa - 6.40pm
8/18 - Les Chefs de France - 1pm
8/22 - Restaurant Akershus - 6.55pm

Waiting to see if there are Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Parties in August as hope to book one of those for the 11th.. and two rounds of golf to book at Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista :goodvibes

It doesn't seem like many ADRs this trip, but we are staying offsite and DH's family want to go to some of the chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster (we don't have those here! :cutie:)

We have never been to Boatwrights before and this will be our 4th stay at POR. Not sure why, I guess because there are soooo many choices!!! But my parents ate there their last trip and said it was really a good meal. So, we thought it would be a nice easy ADR for our first day since we are going to Typhoon Lagoon that day and not the other parks.

I see you are doing Akershus. I was very torn on trying that this time. We wanted a new restaurant in Epcot and that looks beautiful. Unfortunately, I got voted down 2 - 1 by my DD and DH. They talked me into Rose and Crown instead. I guess with only one DD who is 14, no little princesses for me, I didn't have a chance..:lmao:

Crystal Palace on our last day is a tradition for us and my kids really love it!! We love that photo op in front of a deserted castle first thing in the morning!:thumbsup2

Yes that sounds like a good idea to try out Boatwrights :goodvibes - I was looking at the menu on All Ears and it sounds great! There's the Yehaw Bob show in the River Roost lounge too isn't there?

We ate at Captain's Grille one night when staying at the Yacht Club, I don't think we would've eaten there otherwise but had a really good meal :thumbsup2

Akershus will be a new one for us to try ... if it was just me & DH going to Disney, I don't think he'd let me book it! But this summer we're going with his family, and had a request to "eat dinner with the princesses" from his DN! :cutie:

Rose and Crown is really nice - although you're eating quite early there, you might be able to use the private viewing area they have in the gardens to watch Illuminations later :thumbsup2 We did that a few years ago, had our meal - wandered around Epcot for a bit, then came back to see the fireworks (just had to show our receipt to the CM) .. not sure if they still do that though.

Just 165 days to go! :cloud9:

ahhh my mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious foods :)
our ADR's are:

08/21: Rainforest Cafe @DTD - 6:30pm
08/22: Le Cellier @ 12pm, Whispering Canyon @6:30pm
08/23: T-Rex Cafe @ 6:30pm (although this might be a universal day so we may need to cancel this one)
08/24: Chef Mickeys @5pm
08/25: Sci Fi @ 5pm
08/26: Planet Hollywood @6:30pm
08/27: T-Rex Cafe @6:30 pm

:D so excited!!

I am getting really excited!

I am going to call this week and book The Pirates League for th kids, they are very excited to become Pirates, well the 12 year old has not answered if she wants to do this, but I am going to book it for her anyway, I can cancel later if need be but I have a feeling right now her 12 year old attitde will make her say she doesn't want to, but when she's there that may very well change.

We have only made 2 ADR's Sci-Fi, and Prime-Time Cafe. We are on QSDP, so not a lot of sit downs. One thing also making me wary of TS is we are a party of 7 (my SIL is joining us :cool1:) so there is an automatic tip of 18%, now don't get me wrong I usually tip 15-20% when out but do not fell comfortable being told what to tip. I tip based on quality of service I really hope it doesn't happen but if we have a bad experence, I do not feel the server deserves 18%, nor do I feel 18% is warrented at a buffet, therefore no buffets for us. (I know this is a personal thing, nad not everyone will feel the same way)

Is anyone else planning any other extras? I see they have pirate cruises at some hotels and the boys may enjoy that just not sure how comfortable myself, or them would be letting them go off without me....anyone have experience with this?

We've decided to adjust dates a little and stay at the beach club! When the list is updated please change us to 8/21-8/31 at the BC.

Thanks!

We will be there aug 23-sept 3. WL. looking for a great place to celebrate ds 15th bday. He loves to eat. His sister is more pickey. Wanted Yachtman but it is closed for renovations. Any ideas? Any one been to Narcoossee is it any good and is it worth so much money. Looking for nice. No characters kids are not interested this trip. So long chef mickey. We used to go 2 times a trip.

Thanks Disneymom1229 and Disneybarbie! :goodvibes I think you both have a fantastic variety of ADRs, too - this is our first time on the DxDP, and there were way too many choices and not enough days!

We ate at Boatwrights when we stayed at POR 10 years ago, and the food was really good - no complaints at all. I hope you'll be able to try it out and enjoy it!

I'm getting so excited seeing everyone in our August group starting to make their ADRs - the time is going by really fast, but not nearly fast enough!!! :woohoo:

I understand what you are saying - as a family of 6, we have dealt with this for many years at just about every restaurant we've ever been to. We always tip based on service, with 15% being the tip for dreadfully awful service. The way I look at it is this... if the service was so bad that I would not want to tip 18%, I would go ahead and leave the 18% tip, but I would never return as a customer. I've never had that happen, and hopefully, should you decide to go for it one day, you will have nothing but good experiences, too! :goodvibes

Hi!

I've not been to Narcoosees - but would recommend Citricos or maybe Flying Fish if you wanted a really nice meal to celebrate your son's birthday? California Grill was a favourite on our last trip too :goodvibes

Just curious, when is the Yachtsman closing for renovations? I ask since I just booked it this morning for August 23.

Count us in!! :cool1::cool1: We are taking our 2 DGNs (4 and 5) for thei first visit, along with my DS and her DH, and thier son, the parents to DGNs, my DN and his DW. We're using our points to stay AKL. We need to start booking our dining reservations before all the good slots are filled!

Can't wait!!!!:banana::banana:

Yachtman is closing on the 26th of Aug as we found out last night. We wanted to go the 28th. Thanks for all the tips

Trying to catch up, but haven't had time to read all the threads posted since the last time I logged in! Has anyone heard rumors of free dining? I heard today that it will be offered in March for Aug? I will be so excited!

Made our ADRs yesterday...
Garden Grill, Luau, Teppan Edo, Chef Mickey's for breakfast, 'Ohana, and the Brown Derby-- has anyone ever done the Fantasmic dinner? Is it an extra cost?

Getting soooo excited!
