Hi! I've been reading around for a while, but this is my first post. I booked 10 days at WDW, just me and my 9 year old DS, Nathan. We will be going August 15-24. This will be the first trip for the both of us!

We are staying at POP

Those are our exact dates too! We are debating between POP and All Stars Sports so we may see you there too!!

I made our first ADR yesterday ...we'll be having breakfast with Donald at Tusker House on our very first morning!


I just rang WDW-DINE to see if I could book a Wishes dessert party at the Magic Kingdom; but the CM told me those are available at 90 days, not 180

What day do you get there? Your signature has you getting there one day after us, which would make your ADR day Monday - only 7 days!

We get there the 20th, we are driving fromNova Scotia though so we leave 2 days before that on the 18th...

We're doing the Wild by Nature one, it looks interesting and I think she'll get a kick out of it.

We did Wild by nature one year and the kids really liked it. You should have fun.

IF they offer free dining, and they follow the dates they have already offered it for Canada, and it starts Aug 19, am I able to get it? I can't switch the dates we are staying because of school starting the 27th, but can I do two separate packages and get free dining for half of the stay? Does this make sense? I hope they offer it for August!

You'll really have to do your Disney Math to figure this one out. Let's say Free Dining will start on the 19th so you'll be there from the 15th to the 19th without it. I assume you will want to go into the parks so you'll need tickets. So you are looking at room rate for the 4 nights plus four day tickets. Then you switch to free dining on the 19th for 5 nights. For free dining Disney usually makes you stay for at least 4 nights and buy 4 day park tickets. Since I don't know the numbers and ages in your party and which resort you are staying at I can't give you exact numbers but it probably will not work out in your favor. Chances are Disney will have another discount of some type of room discount for you for mid august.

Just finalized arrangement for our split Wilderness/Beach Club stay renting DVC points. Since we're renting points, no chance for free dining for us, so after two vacations on the dining plan, we'll be going out-of-pocket on our meals.

Any advice for good meal values in the parks and resorts would be welcome.
