August 2012 PTR - It's finally here!! (Updated 8/14/12)!

Hey there, just wanted to wish you a magical trip. We are leaving tomorrow for Florida. We will look out for you at Islands of Adventure or Universal or even at the Royal Pacific Resort

Have a wonderful trip!!! Please do come say hi if you see us! We'll have Harry Potter shirts on with our names on the 20th and Dr. Suess again with our names on the 21st!

I'm officially on vacation!!! And I started it with a HORRIBLE headache! I came home, took some meds and passed out on the couch for a couple hours. I feel like it's mostly gone and since I had my nap, I'm still up with lots of energy. So... I worked on Disney stuff!

I feel like it's really creeping up now and I need to get some things done. I am making some adjustable straps for our misting fans... it's my first time making something like this and I am a beginner sewer. I was able to get the first part done and then discovered that I'm missing the loop I need to make it adjustable. So I guess I'm running to the store in the morning.

I took some time to organize my huge pile of Disney stuff.

You should have seen it before. Now there's a box for in the park type stuff (in the front), our travel bag for the plane, the box full stuff to pack, and the big box has Ashton and Aidan's surprise backpacks with all of our customs shirts on top!

Speaking of custom shirts, I finished our last round. These are the ones for our bonus day:

I was thinking I might put them in a box and wrap them up with the invite and have them sitting out for us when we get back from the parks on our second to last day...

So at least some things are taken care of! I need to knock out anything else that's secret before Ashton comes home on Sunday. Tomorrow, I'll get the Harry Potter robe my friend made for Ashton. I'm so excited to see it!! I'll post pictures of it...

The time keeps ticking away and I just can't seem to keep up with it!! I keep knocking items of my list, but then I think of something I have to add. But still...

4 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY!!!

Today I finished all of the school shopping and prepared a bunch of stuff.

I made the straps for my mist fans. I have to say, I'm really proud of them. I am a beginner sewer at best!! Here they are:

I also wrapped up the last day shirts with the letter:

I may not be done yet, but at least I have everything secret done for Ashton's return tomorrow!

I read in multiple places about the soup.... I just thought it might be a good opportunity to try out a new restaurant!

WHAT???? So there won't be any potato soup? Oh well, I still like the desserts.

Hope trying something new leads to a great experience!

Love that you wrapped the sign and the t-shirts for the last day. How cool that you will have someone to speak Disney with at work.

I'll keep an eye out for you, those t-shirts should help.

It's Disney Eve for us! We went this morning to see Brave!! It was very cute! This was Aidan's first time at the theater... during the previews he kept saying, "Ohhhhhhh! Oh-oh-ohhhh-ohhhhhhhhh!" He was so cute! He got a little stir crazy in the second half so Chris and I took turns walking him around the hallways. I really liked the story for Brave and how it wasn't the same old princess meets prince and falls in love movie!

And now, here we are, 11 hours away from our flight and 8 hours away from waking up!! Very excited!!!!

The bags are packed, the house is clean, and we're on our way (or about to be!!)

After the first few days, I think we have both decided, if not all of us, that this is the best trip yet! Very relaxing. We don't have to rush to see everything. The sitting around and watching the boys run through fountains and puddles has been so entertaining. Its a whole different experience when you aren't rushing place to place. Take the time and enjoy all the subtleties.

All our meals have been wonderful! I can't wait for the rest. I'm back at our "house" waiting for Aidan to take his nap while the other two stayed in Epcot. It rained for a bit, but has stopped. Now it's much cooler than it was. I'll meet back up with them in a couple hours.

UPDATE: It's my first time back on the boards since our trip. I do plan on doing a Trip Report if life doesn't get in the way so I won't give too many details at this point. All I can say is, we had the trip of a lifetime!!! We ate, we played, we took everything at a slower pace, we saw EVERYTHING we wanted to see and....

WE GOT ENGAGED!!!
