I just got done making 72 name tags! All I have to do is print them. The hardest part was getting the format right for the first one. The rest were easy after that.

Come on people, PM me with your info for these. Everyone else on the ship will be so jealous of us. I know firsthand because when we went in October, everyone was asking us where they could get the lanyards,name tags and shirts. Right Tracy? Plus, wearing these makes it so much easier to find people in your group and just say hi as you pass in the hallway.

I am so irritated. I called my dad and told him that DH and I wanted to pay for a cabin for he and his GF...my dad is quite capable of paying for his own but he has done so much for us and we would like to do something for him..."No kid, you are not paying for it, if I go I am paying for it myself"...then an argument with me telling him he couldn't find out what I'd paid for it...have you ever noticed how childish you get when arguing with your parents ? He finally said he'd think about it, but no way was he letting me pay for it. I know he is going to say no, and I was so looking forward to taking them. I'm going to have a little chat with him about being gracious in receiving gifts.

Absolutely! There were people I didn't meet early on, but knew right away they were part of our Cruisetoberfest group by their lanyard and nametag. Everyone not with us thought they were so cool!

Dear Wide Awake's Dad,

FOr most of her life, you have taken care of Wide Awake. You brought her up to be a kind, loving person. You were there for her first loose tooth, her first bike ride, her first date. The wedding, the tears of joy. And now she wants to let you know just how much you mean to her. Through all the years you were there working, supporting your family. Now that you are retired, it's time to celebrate. All she wants to do is get you on the Ship of Fools and express her thanks for all you have done. It's not about the money, sure you can pay your own way, but this is about a daughter who loves you and wants to do something special for the most special man in her life. ALoowing her to do this will bring her great joy, the same joy you felt when you "were just being a dad" all her life.

We all want to see you on the ship. Say you'll come, please...........................you might not be sorry!

I think I know where he is coming from. Don't be too hard on him. We have 7 grown kids, and I think most parents of adult children try, if it is financially possible, to help out whenever we can. Our kids may not need it, but it is our way to still be Mom and Dad. Not a control thing, but just want to see the kids happy. So when they try to pay our way, we get more stubborn than we should because we don't want to see the kids sacrificing for us.

Did all the cruisers flying Frontier have their flights changed? When I flew home from LAX 1/9/05 they told me they were stopping the direct flight PHL-LAX but Frontier's hub is in Denver so stopping there is no big deal.

Got the PM and the name tag is already done. I just have to print and laminate them. Wow, this is so much fun.

Yes, we were called by Frontier that they changed our flight from a nonstop 9PM flight to a 6PM connecting one in Denver. Not a big deal for us since they're moving the luggage from one plane to the other and we don't have to go through security again. the only problem might be getting Haley to have to sit for another 1 1/2 hours again. I might just give her some Tylenol when we land and hope it'll start working when we take off.

We are planning a wine tasting on the Ship of Fools! We have approx 80 so far! Each couple will be responsible to bring one bottle of wine to taste. If information on the wine is forwarded to me no later than August 10, I will put together information on the wines we will be tasting including room for tasting notes! I'm working on the location, date and food for the event. Quite a few who have shown interest are planning to bring regional wines, but almost anything goes!
