I've got a really stupid question, anyone know if you can move the beds. The last time we were on the cruise, the rocking sometimes made it hard for me to sleep. It wasn't the motion so much as the direction. I'm wondering if it might be possible to move the bed so I'm sleep the opposite direction (either that or I guess I could just sleep on the couch bed thing and put Lindsay in with Howard, though I know he won't like that).

I got to thinking 14 nights of no sleep probably won't be good for me.

The beds are not bolted down if that's what you mean. I've lifted one end of them up before to slide suitcases underneath for storage.

Not sure if it you would be able to re-arrange the bed/furniture to the degree you're speaking of but you could always ask your room hostess or host.

I keep reading on the cruise line board that the cost of passports is supposed to go up next week. Anyone planning on getting one and hasn't done it yet, may want to use this as an incentive to get going on it.

MEL - So glad I was able to loan your family those outfits for the cruise. The kids look great in them! Can I get them back before August? Best to mail them now - you know first hand how slow the mail is. Thanx!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :duck:

Just got an e-mail from Dreams. DCL is recommending we have passports.

Here's the e-mail:

Hi everyone!

We received the following letter from Disney Cruise Line concerning their recommendation for US citizenship documentation for the West Coast and repositioning cruises:

**************************

As your clients prepare to set sail, we would like to share some information with you that will assist them in making their vacation seamless by significantly reducing their check-in and disembarkation time.

We recommend that United States citizens bring their valid United States passport as proof of citizenship. If your client is a US citizen and does not currently hold a valid US passport, we strongly encourage them to obtain one prior to their scheduled sail date. As you may know, US passports are valid for 10 years and can help expedite the boarding process, so this is a great time for them to apply for one. Please contact your local Immigration office for questions about applying for a US passport. As a reminder, US citizens traveling without a valid passport are required to present an original, state-issued certified birth certificate along with government-issued photo identification. Children under the age of 18 are not required to present photo ID.

We would like to remind your clients to pack a day bag, including all the items they will need for the day of their sailing, as their luggage will be delivered to their stateroom throughout the afternoon. Please advise them to include any medication, breakables, valuables and citizenship documentation in their day bag.

*****************************

If you have any questions concerning this information, please do not hesitate to contact Dreams Unlimited Travel.

DH and I already have passports and Kaleigh is only 2.

Hope your are feeling better Erica.

Hope all the sickies are feeling better.

I have to work this weekend.

Hmmm... I'm still up in the air about actually getting one. Perhaps if some of the ports were more "exotic" I would be more inclined to just go ahead and get them but Mexico, Curacao (N.A.) and the Bahama's will be no issue. We're not getting off in Panama so that's a non-issue too.

At this point I'm just thinking that a passport may be overkill. Not that I would advise anyone to follow in my footsteps and not get them. ;)

Well, if they don't let me on the ship in CA just promise me you'll all wave to me as the ship leaves, OK?

I want a big banner that says "Buh-by Kmiles!" :rotfl:

In keeping with our theme, how about a banner "Buh-by Shipless Fool!"

Bob, great idea!!!!!

I think that having a passport makes life easier when you are traveling. I think that the east to wast people may have more hold ups than we will, seems immigration is tighter in LA, but we don't have to clear there, so checking in with the standard Raised Seal Birth Certificate and Government Issued Picture ID should be ok.

If you do want to get a passport, the price is going up next week!

I hope when we get to the final payment date that there will be cancellations and all those on the upgrade wait list will get thier choice of cabin.

I have always travelled with a passport (which DCL keeps for the duration of the cruise) so we're OK whether they become "required" or not. Others might want to consider having one though, on the off chance of a few hours off the ship in Panama. I've heard of other cruise lines having "unscheduled" port stop there, so it might happen for us!

Marsha - lets hope the cancellations that give everyone the upgrades they want DON'T come from within this group! I can't imagine losing any of the "family" before the trip!!!

Arlene

Arlene, I can't imagine any of the regulars here cancelling, but if someone with a verandah would like to trade for a sideways facing cat 11 (On PAR), I could be persuaded!!!! I told someone yesterday that I am cruising with over 500 of my closest friends, so NO ONE is allowed to cancel!

Kmiles, you may not have much of a choice for long

and they may raise the prices just before had to get more money

Thanks for the information Donna. Good to know!

Not too sure about the whole national ID card. That kinda scares me and I really don't think it's going to do much to improve security in the country. But hey, that's just me. ;)

Whew...Glad my family and i got the passports a few years back! :cool1:One less thing i have to worry about!!

Sorry Nancy, the disney clothes are ours FOREVER!!!! or until the kids grow out of it!!!

Haven't been on the computer much this week.....baby has been sick, teen-ager is having a crisis week, work doesn't stop due to either of the above, and I am TIRED!!!! I've probably missed a lot, but don't have the time to go back and read it all!!!I did see the deal about passports....need to get on that one asap.

Tracy, Barbara, Donna, and anyone else from or visiting DL over Memorial Day. We will be down there from Saturday thru Tuesday, staying at the DL hotel. Won't have a car, but would love to meet for a meal at one of the parks or DTD if anyone is interested!!! We love Goody's Kitchen if that's in anyne's plans, and will probably do a breakfast at StoryTellers...
