Got a serious question....I hear that lot of cruisers decorate the stateroom door and i never heard of it until here...Now what exactly do you decorate with?? The only thing i have is the green mickey that Renee made and the big "Bringing the magic home" that Andy made..(oh, don't i miss Verandah Man!! )
so is it appropriate to use those for my Wonder Cruise next week or that out of place and it is to be used on the Panama Cruise only.....I don't know you tell me...

My only worry would be someone taking them as a "souvenir" I've heard of signs disappearing occasionally, even when they're customized.

How about making some new ones for next week's cruise? I think you can get magnetic paper at Staples (? is this American?) and just create something using some clipart available here. If you need some help, I can try "designing" something for you and e-mailing it to you to print out. With Canada Post's "Snail Mail" delivery, it would never reach you before you leave!

Arlene and Renee-- alongside Martin and Lenny will be my DH. Phil lurks here and occasionally reads over the posts. I'm not worried about him joining the "gentlemen" (using that term extremely lightly) in their pranks. Not his thing.

Melinda a while back you asked when we are leaving for WDW. I realized today that I never answered you. We are leaving on Dec. 4th about 7 AM. We drive to South Carolina and then on Sunday do the rest of the trip. We should arrive about 4 or 5. We are staying off site with the same friends who are cruising with us in Aug. Jen hasn't been around (posting for a while) they are cruising in March and she has been chatting over there. I know she is reading this book regularly.

Melinda ~ as far as door signs go, I had a fellow Dis'er make a Customized sign for me. I have the pic at work so I will try to post it tomorrow.

She sent me a picture and all I did was print it onto the Magnetic Paper. Another Dis'er also made up signs like Andy! ClipArt is wonderful!


Plus this way I found it easy to find our cabin!

When you took Haley to the MK Barber Shop, did you wait long?? I know they don't take appt and it is first come first served..I am thinking of taking Alex there as a surprise. He loves Barber Shops....My DD, however, i know won't go near there!! ( LOL!! typical pre teen!! )

Is there a certain hour that pretty slow there?? or is it always busy??

OBTW, Melinda, I made a great magnetic sign for our stateroom door for our trip last June. Do you want me to e-mail it to you and you can just edit it? It's in Print Shop Deluxe III which is very old, but my dh said any version of Print Shop should be able to read/edit it. Or maybe I can change it to a jpg and it will work - dh will help me. Let me know!

In case you read my DUMB mistake before I fixed it Melinda...I wrote "Melissa" when I saw "Mel" because my co-worker SLP is "Melissa." SORRY!!!

Don't know if you read it on the main board but due to fire standard issues they replaced the cabin doors on all of the rooms on the Wonder when it was in for drydock recently. Apparently they didn't meet Maritime Code that was updated in 2003. The new doors are aluminum skins with some type of fire retardent core. Guess they're very attractive but the bad part is they are not metal and as such no good for magnets and magnetic signs.

Hi Melinda,

Repiratory viruses are rampant everywhere! Go out and get Airborne. You and Bob should take it once a day until you leave. The kids can take 1/2. All the teachers on my staff use it and we are much healthier for it. Try Zicam nose swabs and throat melts too. Airborne is not too tasty for the kids, but my daughter came down with a nasty cold Thursday which usually would have lasted for 2 weeks. She was better on Friday, but had to give it again to her on Saturday. No one ever believes me but this stuff works. Check with your pediatrician to make sure it's AOK for your kids.

Just my 2 cents. All my little autism students have runny noses and this has saved my hide.

Also, we all used the Zicam nose swabs before getting on to the plane for our cruise in June. Call us weird, but we were all healthy on our trip.

I find Zicam and Airborne at Wal Mart and Sav On.

I heard that the wait time can be very long so I took her the day it was raining. That worked out great since there were only 2 people in front of her. I think we were only there about 30-45 minutes total. There are only two chairs so that's why it takes some time. I would go first thing in the morning and if they're busy, then check back several times during the day. This was definitely a great photo moment. The man that cut her hair was great with her. She didn't squirm or cry or anything. I highly recommend doing this to anyone.
