Mark, You keep my name out of DVC's !! Got a good rep. with them!!!

Scratch, You will LOVE THE 1 BR!! You will be spoiled having a Wash/Dryer in the room!! As well as the jacuzzi tub and full kitchen!! I am staying in the studio for the 1st time next week at BCV ...gotta feeling i won't like it, since i only stayed in 1 BR or 2 BR.. but it only for 4 nights and then after my cruise, got the 1 BR at SSR... I am wondering if i am going to like staying at SSR. There are no parks nearby, only DTD... I just love the Boardwalk and Wilderness Villas...My favorites!!

Also, we never been to Disney Quest. What exactly is it?? Will the kids like it?? How long you need to be there?

Grumbo-- The only thing my DH would ask about the van is does it get better gas milage than the one you have now? We have a Toyota Sienna which we both like driving. We can take all the seats out except the two in the front. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it gets us from Pa. to WDW and Detroit when it needs to.
Had a family emergency this morning. Seems our 13 year old DGD came home from school on Friday complaining of pain in her stomach. Well as things developed at 9 AM this morning they removed a very nasty looking appendix. Yes we saw the pictures they took during the surgery. Yuch... She is doing fine and should be going home either tomorrow or Tuesday. She says the best part were the two Aeropostale sweat shirts she got from her DGM and DGF and her Aunt. The other Aunt went for the books and teen magazines. She'll have to miss this week of school and possibly a day or so of next but since that is Thanksgiving week she'll have some time off.

DH says he needs the computer so I'm off to watch a video.

You know by telling Mark that, you've become a "marked" woman!LOL

As far as SSR is concerned, it is a great resort to get away from it all! The walk to DTD is very pleasant and easy. We've only done the MarketPlace Walk but that's a good a place to start as any!LOL

As far as DisneyQuest is concerned, it's a giant "Video Arcade". They have many different things to do inside. Make your own Roller Coaster, A POC type thingy ~ have not done this so can't comment. They have "How to Draw Characters", Make Your Own CD! Some very neat games! You have to try it once ~ you will either like it or not! It's fun though for a good two hours!

We did not have a problem with Transportation but others I talked with found it terrible. We were in Congress Park and had a lovely view of DTD! The quiet pool there is opened 24 hrs. We only toured the main pool just to check it out but I definately think it will be too small for everybody!

I like the fact that it is close to the mall and it was definately great having a car!

As for a studio, just don't leave the sleeper sofa out! It does take up a lot of room! I found that having it put away made all the difference! Enjoy your stay! Let me know what you think!

I can't comment on the other resorts, as of yet! BCV for Christmas and NE. Now DD wants to go for Easter even though I told her she has to decide between Christmas or Easter. So may try another resort then.

DH and I were just discussing what we were going to do with the info that DVC sent us when we were considering buying. Now that we have, we don't need this stuff. It has a short video and a fat booklet with the different DVC properties, floor plans, point charts, DCL points, WDW and DL resort points, etc. You're welcome to it, I can't bring myself to throw it in the trash. You can also contact DVC and get it mailed to you...but then you're on the "list"

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow, what a busy weekend. Glad it's over. Haley says thank you for all the birthday wishes. We had a Tinkerbell theme since that's one of her favorites right now. She got lots of toys and a bicycle that even has a seat on the back for her baby doll.

I also took her for her birthday pictures before her party since she was all dressed up.

Now I have to go and read all the posts that I missed.

Happy Birthday, Haley!!! A Tinkerbell party sounds really cute! I miss the days when Lara was little ...

However, she told me this morning she "never wants to grow up - she always wants to be my kid and live with me forever". I said OK, and she came back with "yippee - my husband will live here too"

November 15 already! The first repo cruisers are only 6 months from their sail date now!

Scratch - thanks for the Square One info re. Disney Charms! I think I'll head over there tonight while Lara is at her gymanstics class Watching her class while she learns to land her cartwheels ON the balance beam is starting to scare me! She loves it, but dance is a LOT safer!

Christmas Stitch (in the blue coat) was only $13.99 this weekend - I picked him up to add to our family room collection. DH insists there's no more room, but I'll work something out.

A rare power surge in the Bethelehem/Fountain Hill area of Pennsylvania has caused widespread power outages and loss of telephone communications in the area. Local Electrical Companies as far north as Stroudsburg and west as Reading have been receiving calls of outages. A number of transformers have been affected and there is no idea at this time as to when normal service may be resumed.
In an associated news story an unnamed female was on her porch dressed in a lime green tshirt, yelling at S.W.A.T. members about being the “Queen Fool” and Leader of the “EAYORS” or something similar. She was in negotiations with a negotiator who was dumbfounded that after telling fellow officers what a jerk the offender is, the female offender yelled “I heard that!! I can read lips”!!!!.
Her only demands at this time is a generator and wireless internet service.

We bought into DVC in '95. We love it. Our resort is OKW, the only one at the time we bought. We do love the 1 bedroom, but hate to spend the points. We have a 1 bdr for HH in Feb and a studio at OKW in June.

I was in school helping out most of day and just got home and just about to PLOP on the couch for little bit before my kids come home, to rest and i thought, let me see what is going on on DIS first before i lie down....and i see this!!!

Which conicidently...I got a notice on my front door today that there will be a power outage here in this neighborhood for 3 1/2 hours tomorrow morning!!(due to booming housing developments) Oh no, what am i going to do with out electricity and DIS???

Thanks for that link for DVC Grumbo. It was full of great info, both pro and con. I'm not sure that I like their system. You call and request to stay at one of the resorts and you can be bumped into any other where occupancy is available. It was Brian's arrticle on MousePlanet.com that bothered me the most. He noted that from 11/15-11/30 of this year DVC members who reserved rooms at BCV were being put into either Coronado Springs or Port Orleans Riverside. He said that it happens alot in the colder months when large corporations book large blocks of rooms. Disney offers these companys the Vacation Club properties as an enticement for them to come. I know I wouldn't stand for lower accomodations then I had paid for!! ...Mark

Grumbo, I just saw the live feed on the net and it was a pretty scary story. It seems Melinda found out about not being able to stay at BCV next week and went ballistic!! During her "perp" walk, reporters asked her why she went crazy and all she kept saying was, LET MARK IN, LET MARK IN, over and over again! Oh well, I drove another one insane! We can sit Melinda next to Sandy at our table and they can babble and drool at each other...Mark
