Way to go, Lynn!!!

Wish we were with you guys, but have late seating and prefer it. We'll just have to meet up later!

I love late seating but Mary just doesn't tolerate eating that late even at the age of 8. Early it is, just us bunch of donkeys!

Late would certainly work best for your family, Barbara. Once we're start changing time zones, early seating could have you guys eating as early as 3 pm!!! Most "West Coast" tummies would not be tuned to that!

We'll be ready to meet up later, though! Lara's thrilled that there are events for the "Lab" aged kids just starting at 9:45 or 10 pm! At home, I make her go to bed long before that! LOL

Arlene

BTW - I'll have no problem remembering your DH's name; it's my brother's name and HIS wife is named Barbara! Small World!

WOW!! Quiet night here!! hey, What is going on here?? Night on the town tonight?? Well, it was with me!!

My DD and i went to the "42nd Street" Broadway Play right here in my town in Easton. My DH's secretary gave us their tickets today since she and her DH couldn't go at the last minute due to family situations and because my DD, Brianne is into dancing and theatre, my Dh, Bob, gave her his ticket to go...so she and I went...
WOW!! those people really work hard and the dancing, mostly tapping, was phenomenal!!! Brianne was in awe!!

Good night!

I'm just popping in to say that a subcomittee is recommending school start after Labor Day but the Board doesn't meet until next week to either take or reject their recommendation. Now it looks like I won't know until next week whether we'll be going on the cruise. Keep your fingers crossed for us! My children will be very disappointed if we can't go.

Just doing some reflection here...

Grumbo started this thread on May 2nd - about half a year ago. We actually get on board 40 weeks from tomorrow - 281 more days. Interestingly, the 'halfway point' looks like it falls a couple of days after Christmas (seems somehow appropriate - I'm guessing this cruise is a big Christmas present for most of us).

During that period of time we have accumulated some 467 cruisers, of which 137 have DISnames and have posted here at least once. We occupy at least 159 staterooms - something better than 1 out of every 6 of the 875 total. During the lifeboat drill (or pretty much anything else aboard) there will be something like a 40% chance that either the person to the left or right of you would be from our group!

During the 188 days so far we have managed to produce 5587 messages of varying degrees of usefulness, about 30 per day or one every 48 minutes or so. At this rate the post count will be about 14,000 by the time we board. We have discussed wining, dining, and whining (hey, that comes out to 'WDW'!), as well as the extraneous use of the letter 'u' in some words.

People have come and gone, multi-national corporations have formed and new acronyms invented. Families have gotten bigger; families have gotten smaller (both in one unfortunate case). No doubt some of us currently still here will fall off the list and some new ones will be added.

Happy ’40 weeks to go’ everyone!

Kathy, Hello, :wave2: Long time, no posts!! I keep my finger crossed for you!! ;)

Very interesting facts, Jazz!! I just went back to look at the 1st few pages of this forum on how everyone got started here. 40 weeks will be here in no time!! Gotta get moving on saving more $$ for drinks and excursions! :teeth:

You're right about the "Big" Christmas Present, Jazz! LOL

We have absolutely NO plans to be among those that "fall off the list" before this cruise! It would take a major earth-shaking disaster at exactly that time to budge me - I'M GOING!!!!!

Only 40 weeks to go!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Thanks to all who contribute to this thread - sharing my excitement with others who understand makes the anticipation that much sweeter!

Count us in the I'M DEFINITELY GOING AND NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP US group. I already have some non-refundable things paid for like airfare both ways and hotels in California and Tampa so something really bad would have to happen for us to cancel this trip.

Count ME in for part of "THE DEFINITELY GOING" group, too!!
It started w/ me reserving a cabin for myself, dd, and dh (knowing full well his work wouldn't let him take 2 weeks back to back--but was hoping for a miracle??). So when he convinced me there was no way he'd even think to ask--he said I could go as long as there was another adult (so I didn't pay full fare for Addison who will be almost 2 1/2.). Well--sister Vikki decided to go and then 2 weeks ago--decided not to. So my best friend, who kept saying--"if Vikki can't go --let me know!!", is now going. And if she decides not to go---I'm still going!!!!!!!!!! And Addison, too. I'll miss my husband--but I'll take lots of pics. for him!!

CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

That right, Amanda, don't let anyone stop you from going!! You got your mom and dad with you along with us FOOLS friends!! That goes same for me too...nothing will stop my family from going unless a tragedy happens...which pray that does not happens!!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the way... :rolleyes1

Yep that is right, i am singing Christmas songs now..Got the Christmas CD going on my intercom/sterero listening to C-mas songs and i am taking a break now from putting the Christmas Lights on my tree in my Family room and the kids (off from school today due to conferences) are now putting the ornaments on. Will do inside C mas deco throughout the house too...yeah, i know, i must be crazy!!! Why are we doing this now?? Wanna get it all done before we leave for Disney and won't get back til 12/8 and it is all done and ready for us! so therefore, i am not crazy, but smart!!::yes::
But i am not doing the outside Christmas deco until i get back...I don't want the neighbors to think i am nuts!!! LOL!!

Count the two of us in that group! Keeping our fingers crossed (when they are not being washed <>G) for a healthy year.

Has it occured to anyone else that JGE & Mark are planning something new .... they've been too quiet for the last day.

Even got some good news from DCL - I'd written several emails about using a voucher from the hurricane cruises (I was on the 9/4 - that ended up being the 9/7 Magic). I was told by at least 7 DCL CM's incl. a couple of managers that I would be able to use it on this cruise. Of course when the voucher arrived - it couldn't be used. So I was very polite and pointed out that just how much vacation time do you think I have -- and all my days are basically allotted for Disney stuff (13 days between cruise and DLR & CA & family trip down to DW in Oct.). They were nice enough to allow me to use the voucher for the trip - giving the 25% off the brochure rate of a 7 night cruise to apply for the trip. No idea how much -- but it was appreciated that they read my email and acted on it.

On the white X-Mas issue -- I'll pass - 2 years ago we had one that was overkill - as in blizzard -- 18" of snow on top of 2 inches of ice. YUCH.

Melinda,

If you want to work on yard stuff too - come over - my nephew will be starting this weeked to put the stuff out. We are frequently teased that the planes coming into LGA & JFK will land on our roof (from the bright lights), or use it for a navigation beacon.

We also bought our first clothes for the cruise ! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

:cat:

Hey Melinda since DH and DD are going to be away (medical things) next week maybe I will suggest to the eldest that we get the tree down from the attic. Then again maybe I'll tell her to wait until we leave for WDW and she and her sister can put up the decorations and the tree. Of course with DH the way he is it won't be right but at least it will be done.

Count us in the going no matter what group. I will NOT miss this trip.

We have late seating but haven't decided whether to join the link up or not. Have to a talk to the friends going with us.

Lovely weather in the northeast today. Rain rain and more rain. All day today and all night. Should stop in the morning. Just what we need more rain.
Only been coming down since this morning around 4 AM and we have large puddles and Lake Taylor in our driveway.

Hi Melinda:wave2:

Decorate away! I love listening to Christmas music for the first time of the season and pulling out all the ornaments and things. You have a great reason to get things done early – I didn’t realize you’d be gone for two full weeks!!! Lucky you! (you deserve it, though!)

I want to get started now too, but I think DH will have a fit if too much “stuff” comes out now. I’ll start small – like all my Disney Christmas Plushies! (That wouldn’t be too much, right? ) ?) We bought the new blue and white Stitch at the D-Store on Saturday and Lara couldn’t let him go away, so he’s already sitting in our family room. I’ll just get out all his “friends”!:teeth:

The Toronto Santa Claus Parade will be next Sunday, November 21. Lara and I (and hopefully DH) will be going to see it, especially since it’s the 100th Anniversary Edition of the Parade. After that, it’s all “fair game”!

Arlene

Speaking of decorating for Christmas--I started 3 days ago. I figured--since we're in a new house--I need to start early to see how things look--if I need more, etc. Bought a little 4ft. pre-lit tree for my daughter. Our Big tree (yes--in FL we do the fake ones paired up w/ a lovely Pine scented Yankee candle!!) isn't up yet. Only because I am getting our sliding glass doors out to the lanai/patio replaced w/ french doors soon (when is that darn contractor going to call anyway????) and the tree will be placed off to the side of the french doors. So when the contractor is here--I figured he didn't need a tree poking him in the you know what while he was working!!!
Love this time of year!!!!!!

Of course, that was a rhetorical questions! You will never, EVER catch me putting up my Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving! I always hate it when I go to a mall the day after Halloween and the Christmas stuff is up. I mean, come on! At least give us a few weeks!

For those of you who have PM'd me (and for any who haven't), in order for our seatings to be linked for dinner (not necessarily at same table) I believe I need to have your reservation/confirmation number. Don't worry, I won't drop your ressies, or add 8 more people to your room; this is just so that they know who wants to be near who.

Just PM me, or e-mail me with the info!

For the last week some FM station in Detroit has been advertising on the tv that they are playing all Christmas music 24/7. Heck it is the beginning of November when they started this!!!!
Come Christmas you'll be so sick of it. Unbelivable.

Cheers,
Grumbo
