The bus idea sounds nice, but the timing will cut it too close for us to make our flight (at 11:45 a.m.). So we will probably get a towncar or take the Disney bus at 8:30 a.m.

Hi Melinda,

You're doing a great job keeping track of this for everyone! I think Jazzman and family are being counted twice, though - once with Denise W (4) and included with Grumbo's family (11).

Grand total to date: 85/87 happy DIS cruisers!

Hey Bob! I know what you mean about not much time. I keep thinking there is so much I need to do to get ready, that I am driving myself nuts. Lisa (DW) only knows that we are going on the cruise for our anniversary. She doesn't know anything about us doing the REAS package. She wants to do a massage and Palo's, but knows that money is going to be tight on this cruise, so she has resigned herself to having to wait until the next cruise. Little does she know!

Just be careful around this group. There seems to be a lot of "characters" on this thread. I am just glad it is you who have to live with them for 2 weeks next year!

Looking forward to meeting you and Melinda in a couple of weeks!

She will only find out about it as each occurs. She doesn't know about the existence of the REAS package with DCL at all. So, she will first find the basket in our room. We will book Palo's brunch when we board, and I will tell her that it doesn't cost as much as dinner, so we can do it and check out the restaurant.

Then, I am going to tell her that we are ordering room service for breakfast on Wed. morning, so she needs to get up early. Not sure how I am going to get her to the spa early, but we will see. And then, since we are supposed to be in Triton's that night, I will let her know we need to dress up again and show at Palo's, and then we will of course return to the room with the romantic turndown.

I always do something a little special for our anniversary trips, but because of the $$ situation right now, I don't think she is expecting anything this time around, especially to the degree of REAS.

Hey Scratch, now I have to make sure that Grumbo and Jazzman don't sit near each other at the table. I'm going to have to get there early every night to show them their "assigned seats". With Mark sitting next to us, the 3 of them could get into a LOT of trouble. Melinda - are you going to put your table near ours??? If so I'll need to be careful how I arrange the "boys" at the table! We women will just have to take over (as if we weren't in charge already)!!!

well, If DCL grants our wishes, there are no gaurentees who tables are next to who's. But we will all be sitting in the same area and will probalry don't matter who is near who because i am sure we will draw attention of being the loud mouths fools!! LOL!!! The way i see it, by the time dessert rolls around, we will all be up and sit at someone else's table!! LOL!!!
Boy, won't we have fun at the Character Breakfast!! They don't need the their characters to come out,,,we got JGE and (M?) as characters!! LOL!!!!!

Hi all,

We're staying just one night on 9/3/05 at RPH - Universal Resorts. We've booked a concierge level.

1. Do you think we might not get a good room that night as it is Labor Day weekend? Could we be "downgraded" to a standard room due to most people checking in on Friday night for the Labor Day weekend?

2. Anyone ever stay on their concierge level? We like having breakfast, snacks, etc. available.

3. Is it pretty easy to get a non-smoking room if it is requested? Ds has pre-asthma now, and I hate smoke...(sorry smoking friends).

No ENT or FAN rates for just a one night stay, so we got the AAA rate. Ds then age 14 is a big IOA fan, and dd now does the fast rides too, so it should be fun. Hope I won't feel sad not seeing WDW while in Orlando!

Barbara, have you ever stayed on-site at Universal before?? If not, you're in for a surprise!! The FOTL (front of the line) access that your room key gets you is worth the additional costs of staying on-site. You can walk onto every ride through the express line. Most waits are about 10 minutes or less. I was able to do the Men in Black ride with my kids 3 times before some people went once. One guy asked how I was able to pass him so many times. It will make you hate the lines at Disney after experiencing FOTL at Universal!...Mark

I can not answer your questions but I have stayed at the RPH @Uinversal and it is a lovely hotel. I asked for a non smoking room with pool view and got it without a problem. It has good facilites easy to get to the parks by boat or walk, and the rooms are very nice.

I found the food a little dissapointing, we did a couple of character meals, scooby do, etc, but in the end started to go to I drive for our evening meals.

FOTL is very good and Disney should do it for their on site guests.

If you booked a concerige level, then you will get the concierge level...I don't see what the difference whether it is a holiday or not...
No I never stayed at concerge level..I am too cheap!! LOL!! Someone else may help you with that.
For the non smoking room , Is it requested?? but i would call to confirm that you get a guarentee because of your Ds asthma. That is a legit medical reason...I am with you...I hate smoke too!!!

Hi Barbara and Melinda,

Non-smoking friends seem to be in the majority these days! We'll be the ones enjoying chatting on the decks or in Cove Cafe after the evening shows.

I never went to any of the clubs after 9:00 on our last cruise, but I've heard the smoke gets pretty heavy in there. Add us to the "Smoke-Free" gang. I'm the one with asthma and allergies in our family.
