Just doing some reflection here...
Grumbo started this thread on May 2nd - about half a year ago. We actually get on board 40 weeks from tomorrow - 281 more days. Interestingly, the 'halfway point' looks like it falls a couple of days after Christmas (seems somehow appropriate - I'm guessing this cruise is a big Christmas present for most of us).
During that period of time we have accumulated some 467 cruisers, of which 137 have DISnames and have posted here at least once. We occupy at least 159 staterooms - something better than 1 out of every 6 of the 875 total. During the lifeboat drill (or pretty much anything else aboard) there will be something like a 40% chance that either the person to the left or right of you would be from our group!
During the 188 days so far we have managed to produce 5587 messages of varying degrees of usefulness, about 30 per day or one every 48 minutes or so. At this rate the post count will be about 14,000 by the time we board. We have discussed wining, dining, and whining (hey, that comes out to 'WDW'!), as well as the extraneous use of the letter 'u' in some words.
People have come and gone, multi-national corporations have formed and new acronyms invented. Families have gotten bigger; families have gotten smaller (both in one unfortunate case). No doubt some of us currently still here will fall off the list and some new ones will be added.
Happy 40 weeks to go everyone!
