Hello All- I keep checking in, but it seems the group is busy. I am so excited and addicted to the disboards.

I am still hoping to find a buddy for my daughter to friend.

I just got back from a business trip in San Diego. Had to stay over the weekend and being so CLOSE to Disneyland... I just HAD to do it. One day at Disneyland. I've been to WDW over 10 times but never Disneyland. I was without my family but still had lots of fun.

But you know what I missed (besides my family)? Dole ice cream. The line was too long and we never got back. New rule in my life. No matter how long the Dole pineapple ice cream line is.... stand in it until you are enjoying the pinapple vanilla frozen love!

Its almost time for us to start making our excursion decisions. Anyone make any tentative plans? I have to take the DD 9 to Stingray because last time she was rained out and I'm sure DH and DD 18 will do the parasailing . I think for the Bahamas, we will be skipping Atlantas and doing the cove beach excursion.

I also made Chef Mickey arrangements for our SECRET night after the cruise at BLT. I made the arrangements early enough to let the kids swim, we eat, then go watch Wishes (hopefully from our room).

Glad you made it to Disneyland! I LOOOOOVE Disneyland! The secret to the Dole Whips is go through the turnstyle to the Tiki Room. There is another line on that side of the Dole shack and the line is ALWAYS much shorter and you don't have to go into the Tiki Room if you don't want to.

I just don't know if we'll do any excursions. I can't decide. I almost don't want to commit myself to that much time off the ship in Nassau. Although I have never been so I WILL get off the ship. I'm thinking I will just go to Serenity Bay at CC and only move for lunch.

I did make ADRs for Ohana the night before and Kona Cafe for breakfast on departure day. Ohana is DH's favorite. I'm hoping to watch Wishes from the beach. Our flight doesn't get in until late afternoon/early evening and I'm trying to convince myself we don't need to go into a park.

I have to check my schedule but the scooter family as well as coachycp family are eating I believe at Ohana night before cruise. My favorite dinner for sure. You have more willpower than me if you don't go into the kingdom. In order to get cheaper flights we are leaving later than usual. We usually are gone by 7 and in park by 10:30/11 on arrival day.

In regard to excursions wow are they expensive on nassau. As of now we are going to get off ship early and sightsee then shhhhhh head back to ship and hope a lot of people go onto the island so I can sit by the pool and ride aqua duck over and over and relax

Is it bad that I want to leave kids at family beach and take the tram to serenity bay to get the better lunch. Dw and I went on DVC members cruise last year and ribeye sandwhich was darn good lol

Ok since it has been a little quiet here is another question for group: What character best describes you and why?

Good Morning.......add us to the list of charaters sailing on this cruise. Actually we have been booked since 11/09 but with our DS starting college in the fall 2011, I was still debating about the cruises. Since I bought airfare and paid off the cruise, I guess we are going. We are doing a B2B also. We will be on the 7/29 prior to this cruise.

It will be my DH, DS (17 - 6 weeks to early to go to Palo - next cruise), DD (16), and myself. This will be cruise # 9 for us.

As for excursions, the only ones we are hoping for is scuba at Nassau and fishing at CC both for DH and DS. [Last year they did scuba in the big tank at EPCOT. Lots of fun for them.] Not sure what else we might want to do?

Looking forward to communicating with all of you over the next few months. Being part of a Dis meet has always made our trips more fun.

I was wondering where in Maryland. On one of our cruise meets there was another family traveling from Maryland. As we started to pin point common points in Maryland, it turned out he grew up down the street from the preschool I was teaching at and the pastor at the preschool used to sit him when he was younger. I knew this family lived in the next county, so it was weird at the Dis Meet when my DS saw his DD and said they went to middle school together. Turns our the DD lived with the "ex" and did go to the same school. He was right. They kept in touch for about two years after the cruise. Small world.

What do you teach? I teach for the local community college in the non-credit department. I teach a math review class, an alternative GED program, and basically a one-room school house to get any weak skill strenghten so they can go on to get their GED. These different classes over the years has allowed me to be home when the children get home from school or to pick them up after school sports/events. It is because of school sports that have moved our trips to early Aug. instead of the end of Aug. (when it is usually cheaper - oh well).

Hopefully Scooter and I will be in a great mood ready to celebrate a successful baseball season which ends onlya few weeks before our trip. We are coaching a great group of kids and playing in a travel league outside of Baltimore for the first time - however if we aren't in a good mood it will only take one step inside Magic Kingdom on Main Street to change the mood quickly

It will be fun this time knowing that our last day at WDW, really isn't our last day because of heading to the cruise after our stay at the parks -can't wait!

This is our second Disney cruise, we signed up DVC on our cruise 2 years ago. Using points this time! On our last cruise, I didn't discover the boards until the night before we left. I thought at the time the extenders sounded awesome, and was bummed out that we couldn't participate. I definitely want to this time!!!!! As well as making cool magnets for our doors for the whole family.

Hopefully Scooter and I will be in a great mood ready to celebrate a successful baseball season which ends onlya few weeks before our trip. We are coaching a great group of kids and playing in a travel league outside of Baltimore for the first time - !

we are thinking of doing a traveling softball team for my dd. But with 3 weekends gone in July and August for this trip we have to wait and see when the tournaments are before we commit. My ds did an a traveling team when he was 8 but it was pretty much local. The furthest away was a boy 50 miles. I'm the scorekeeper most of the times for the teams and my dh usually ends up assistant coaching or at least warms the teams up.

I have a DD 18.... maybe she can exchange and hang out with your teen boys? Its hard for her to make friends and maybe it will be easier if she "chats" before the cruise? Unless the boys have serious girlfriends already????? I'll post a picture which will TOTALLY embarrass her but you'll see why she is kinda shy. She's a hockey fan and makes friends with boys more than girls.

Just checked my ressies. Our flight leaves around 7 am and we arrive around 3:30pm which is earlier than we usually get across the country! Our ADRs for Ohana on August 1 are for 7pm. That flight arriving at 3:30 makes a visit to the MK very tempting. Hopefully that ADR will keep me out of trouble.

I updated the group list. Hopefully I got everything. I'm too tired and stressed out and busy to double check right now.

As far as character, I think probably Fairy Godmother. Why? I belong to a group of disboarders that finds other disers going on wish trips through Make a Wish or similar organizations and we are able to provide many of these families with a "Big Give" where they are showered with gifts and special items for their trips. It was started by the Disboutiquers which are are group of people who LOVE sewing fun custom outfits for Disney trips so most of the Big Give gifts are special tee shirts or outfits for the kids for their trips along with a lot of "pixie dust". Often people have been able to make special things like wheelchair bags, clothing with special features like a hole for a medical port access, girly hats for little girls with no hair from chemo, etc. It has been an amazing experience getting to know these Wish Trip families!

My friend was on the MV of the Dream and they had a formal night, but not sure if that was because it was the MV.
