August 2, 2011 disney dream

Great to see others jumping on board! So Scooter has a softer side eh?? I get tears and goosebumps watching the fireworks while hugging my kids- such a special time for me!

My wife has been watching the various flight prices notices -concerned with the prices -we hear that by Memorial day gas could be $5/gallon! :sad2:

We need to organize a meet and greet at BC prior to departure to DCL -

Ok new question: If you could only ride one ride what would it be?

When our kids were younger it had to be the Goofy Barn stormer- now it is the rock-n-roll - we love that ride!

We rode Goofy's barnstormer for the last time in Jan. :sad2: It was our kids first coaster. The ride where they actually raise their hands and will ride together vs. with mom or dad.

Ok here are our ride choices:

DW- Everest
DS13- Everest
DS11- Buzz, RR, or Space MTN (he is not here for me to ask right now)
Scooter- RR or Soarin ( in know you said one but I would force my way on the other)

:darth:

Ok DS11 just texted me and said no fair dad one ride that is a tough question.

He said RR with Toy story a close second

:confused3

Since so many of us are staying at BC, I'm guessing you're also using the DCL transport? PARTY ON THE BUS! I know some people like to rent cars and the like to get there earlier than the bus but I LOVE that I don't touch my luggage!

Ride Favorites:
DH 51 Everest
ME 41 Soarin
DD 18 RnR (she's even an Aerosmith fan now who quotes Joe Perry on occasion to make us laugh)
DD 9 Toy Story

Is it a Fish on the Dream? I'm sure there is SOME TYPE of extender. Anyway, my DD 9 loved it so much on our last cruise I'm willing to "own" it for our Disney Dream 8/2 Cruise. I'll keep the list of anyone willing to join in and publish it.

For anyone who is NOT familiar, there are little fish outside your door where you can hang something where DIS people drop off little presents. On our last cruise, it was so much fun coming back to the room and finding little things in the pouches. We also found magical magnets made especially for us on the door that now are on our fridge reminding us of the trip and the friends we made.

I am NOT crafty and I ordered my extender online through EBay: http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/disboards-signature-images/p38451-fishextender.html

Now the last cruise I was on, we had a few "adult" presents as well (airplane bottles of rum). So if you're interested in FE, reply via Private Message the number of your stateroom, your cast of characters (girl/boy and ages) and if you're willing to receive a gift that makes sure the rum isn't "always gone" as Captain Jack Sparrow would say.

Can you tell I'm a bit excited about our trip? We couldn't have one last year (my husband lost his job) and I've been spoiled by going once or twice a year for some time now.

Planning is 1/2 the fun and Fish Extender is even more planning!!!!!

One ride:
Me: POTC I grew up with a dad that didn't like to go out or do anything "fun" but when we got to DL and on POTC he would sing "Yo Ho Yo Ho a Pirate's Life for Me!" out loud. It was so fun seeing my dad have fun that the ride will always be my favorite and my "can't miss"
DH: Expedition Everest
DD13: California Screamin'
DS11: California Screamin'
DS8: Rockin' Rollercoaster
DD5: Big Thunder Mountain

JMTStone, I've not done the FE before but I am familiar with it. I'm in! I need more stuff to plan! :lmao: I'll PM you. It will just be DH and I on the cruise.

Where did my signature ticker go.

Ugh it took me forever to figure out how to put it on and now I have to figure out whee it went? :rotfl2:

Update: because of airline fare's I have to stay at the Wilderness Lodge on Sunday after cruise and go home Monday. :sad2: Yeah right woohoo another day where dreams come true. :woohoo:

Jham awesome memory. My parents are still surprised that I enjoy going to disney as much as we do. I was always quiet and reserved as a kid never wanting to put myself out there. The magic really does affect people. My ringtone is Pirates theme. Sounds like a good topic for another question favorite memory?

Haven't been back to check this thread in a while. We are staying at Beach Club from Friday until departure day. This is our first stay at Beach Club. I want to try out SAB. We are taking Disney transportation to the port. I just love that we don't have to drive once we land in FL. It is just DH and me and we will be celebrating our 11th anniversary on Aug. 5th. Hopefully we can get into Palo that night. This is our first cruise since 2008 (4th Disney cruise) when we were on the Magic for the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise. That was 15 days of heaven.

Favorite ride:
Me: Soarin' or Tower of Terror
DH: Test Track or Rockin' Roller Coaster

Favorite memory (Disney World): When my now 18 year old daughter saw her first Disney World parade, Jasmine was on a float with Aladdin. Well, she watched that movie CONSTANTLY so of course, she was wearing a Jasmine T shirt. When Jasmine saw her, she pointed to my daughter, placed her hand on her heart, then blew her a kiss. I still well up with tears at the thought. My daughter looked dazed at me and said, "she saw me". To this day, we always have to visit Aladdin and Jasmine at character meets.

Favorite memory (Cruise): Vow Renewal on the Magic.

I've got a couple of replies on the Fish Extender. YIPPIE.

Okay, that reminded me of a favorite memory, also Jasmine related. :lovestruc
When DD13 was about 7 Jasmine was her favorite princess. We were at Disneyland and hadn't seen her yet. She was the only princess autograph DD was missing. DH and DD went to ride Indiana Jones and I waited with the boys who were too small. Sure enough we ran into Jasmine and Aladdin while DD was on the ride. The boys got autographs and photos and I asked Jasmine to autograph DD's book, not knowing if we'd get another chance. I told her she was DD's favorite princess. Jasmine took the book, which had my DD's name written inside the cover and was glancing at some photos she already had in the book. Then she signed a blank page.

Several hours later, Jasmine and Aladdin were out again and DD was with me! She hopped in line for a photo to go with the autograph. When she got to the front of the line, Jasmine looked at my DD, called her by name and gave her a huge hug. DD was flabbergasted. Her favorite princess knew her name! I guess she had remembered it from glancing at her autograph book and recognized her from the photos!

i heard the cruise is booked completely! woohhh!

any teenagers??!

It appears to be almost completely booked. If you search for 2 or 3 persons there are still some cabins. I am trying to move my cabin but no luck so far. And there should be teens - I am bringing 2- 14 son and 15 yo daughter

We're booking! DH and I for a stateroom with verandah. Any other kid-less adults?

It's our first cruise!

DH and I will also be kid-less this cruise. This is only our second cruise. The last one was 2001 when our children were young.

DH and I will be leaving the kids behind to celebrate our anniversary in peace

My DD18 will be on the cruise. Last cruise, she was 16 and did not participate in the "teen activities" much to my dismay. We did decide now that she's 18 and allowed in the spa (even though they have their own spa now), she and I are doing mother/daughter peticures. And on Castaway Cay, she and her father will be doing the parasailing again. I'd be scared to death so I'll be with DD9 doing Stingray Excursion.
