August 2, 2011 disney dream

I think there was 615 days when we first booked this cruise. Now starting to focus on our winter in Florida, I see the annual pass has gone up, but we always manage to get our monies worth. We really get our monies worth on the free parking.

Everybody see the float out of the Dream on utube?

248 How the time flies. My daughter had her first Thanksgiving dinner. We did the turkey(23.24lbs) and the stuffing(4 loaves of bread, I make the day before)

We got an email from a Japanese couple we shared a dinner table with(Magic) on the Mexican Riviera cruise in 2005 and they booked this cruise to meet our family, we've kept in touch with them over the years and swapped Disney stuff. Have a lot of Disney stuff written in their langauge, really neat. Hopfully this finds you all in good health and spirits.

Put the Christmas tree up yesterday. About six more weeks till we leave for Florida got a nice four bedroom 2 bath house for the 3.5 months

Well...we've done it again...booked another DCL cruise...with a BIG THANKS to the in-laws!!!

My in-laws are starting to really age, so we've been helping them get their finances in order...my MIL was shocked to know how much money she'd accumulated. We told them they need to be spending that money on themselves doing what they want to do/going places they want to go.

She said she always wanted to go on a cruise, but they were no longer able to drive themselves there. DW says "I'll drive you". MIL says "I would like to do something where everyone could be together" for their 50th wedding anniversary...she knew we'd been on two DCL cruises and loved it...so she said, get me a quote, and I'll think about it.

To make a long story short, we're all booked for the 8/2 cruise. :cool1:

We'll all be together this weekend...MIL/FIL will be telling the kids...should be exciting to watch. When the kids were much younger, in-laws paid for a long weekend type trip to WDW around Christmas time. Was a surprise to the kids...we all met at the same hotel in Lake City, and surprised the kids by "running" into their grandparents and aunt/uncle/nephews...they could not figure out how that happened...:confused3...and did not know where they were going. Grandparents told them we were all going to WDW...they went NUTS once it sunk in.

Will be:
Myself 48
DW 45
DD 21
DD fiance' 21
DD 16
DS 15
FIL old'ish
MIL old'ish
BIL 47
SIL 47
DN 20 (I think)
DN's potential FI 20ish
DN 17ish

We'll be in 8572, 8574, 8576 verandah for the adults....and two inside rooms for the kids.

Perusing the Dis cruise line board can be dangerous to your wallet. ;)

DW and I had been talking about taking another cruise...investigated other cruise lines, but just could not pull the trigger on one...just felt we would have been disappointed. We just enjoy the family friendly atmosphere of DCL...we don't gamble, and did not want to be on a party ship.

The float out photos of the Dream pushed me over the edge.

We've previously done a 4 night on the Wonder with our kids, and DW and I did a 7 night Eastern on the Magic.

Counting down the days.:dance3:

With the Dream just pulling into port I thought I would check out the thread. Hopefully we will get some more folks. I was so exciting to see the pictures from the port, especially the fireworks. It just makes me more excited.

So excited, just decided last night, that we will take another Florida vacation this coming July/August and we will be on the new Dreams :cool1:

We did our first Disney cruise 2 years ago and it was just awesome. We DW45, DH44 and DD 7 are absolutely thrilled to be on this new ship. :wizard:

Last time we did the fish extender with the other parties and had a great fun to find the presents when returning to the room and one night we had a late night cap on deck. We brought Swiss chocolate to everybodies delight.

Looking forward to read from you more.

Regars from Switzerland

We are getting more excited about this cruise now that the Dream is a reality!! I am loving all of these new pictures from the Dream. My family of 5 are doing this cruise B2B with the July 29th 4Night. It will be me, DH, DS11, DD8 & DS6.

We booked onboard back in 11/2009 and this cruise seemed so far off, but now this cruise will be here before we know it :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I wanted to join in on the fun. I just booked this cruise for myself and my husband. We can't wait. I believe we got one of the few cabins left. At this time there is no cabin number. Hopefully time will pass quickly.:goodvibes

We are down in Florida now, missed all the latest snow up north. Next week we'll buy our annual pass and start visiting WDW three or four times a week. The weather has been very comfortable and will go up to the mid 70's next week. A little chilly in the morning but gets warm by 10am. Just realized my count down is for when we leave for the Dream on July 28th for the first leg of our B2B. The grandkids will be down in 8 more days, there in a big countdown up there

The community is growing....

Joksten or other fellow experienced cruisers, is it really that hot during that time and what are the chances for severe hurricans :confused3.

We live in Switzerland and right now we spend every free minute on skis. We might just melt like the Swiss chocolate we wanted to bring with us.

Thanks in advance and regards from across the atlantic.

Never run into a hurricane that early in the season. It's always possible but they manage to change course and avoid them. With all the modern equipment they have, it's almost impossible to get surprised by a storm. Although I've heard of sudden snow squalls so maybe the ski's will help. I'd leave them home though, I'm sure it will be up in the 90's

thanks so much for your lines, it is a bit difficult to tell if you've never been there in the summer months, so far we spent various weeks during spring time in Florida in 2008, 2010 and yipi, again this year. Looking forward to meeting you all.

We just got back from WDW. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge. It was our GS first visit. Very exciting. But Grandma is too old to keep up!! Now we are looking forward to our Dream cruise. We are headed down on July 29 to spend a few days at the parks and the Beach Club.

We are doing the same, we are heading down July 27th staying at the Beach club then jumping on the cruise. We just did the Magic cruise in January -doing our own land and sea adventure this time. We have good friends that will be down with us as well, they don't have the cruise booked yet but should be able to at the 90 day window when the money is due and others re-schedule.

We are booked on this cruise:woohoo:.

Cast of Characters:
DH 51
Me DW 41
DD 18
DD 9

We will be doing a few days at Beach Club Villas before the boat and one SURPRISE (the family doesn't know) day at Bay Lake Towers Theme Park View after. I had the DVC points and the airline blocked off mile the last day off of the boat. Excellent excuse, eh?

We are in cabin 9530.

I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet (supposed to be working now but can't:rolleyes:)...... Anyone up for exchange?

We are definately up for exchange! Dh is already planning what to make....He's the crafty one...lol

Excited to join thread and that we will be joining our good friends 27-2nd at WDW and now on the Dream. We went on 2010 DVC Members cruise and the kids were upset we did not take them. They are super excited!!! I am really excited that this cruise stops twice at Castaway Cay. The thought of sitting in my chair up to my neck in the wonderful water warms me up on this cold day in central Maryland.

DH Scott
DW Hope
DS Matt 14
DS Tim 11

I will try to forward port cams I got from DVC Members cruise thread so we can start watching the ships leaving port canaveral to get us all excited.
:smickey:

Just booked for our 20th anniversary! :cool1:

It will just be me 42 and DH42. Our anniversary is August 2. We are leaving DD13, DS12,DS8 and DD5 at home this time :guilty: I will really be missing the kids, but DH and I need a fun vacation together. We took the whole family on the Magic in February 2007 so they know what they are missing. :rotfl: I booked the night before at the Poly as a surprise for DH.

We are cat 9A so no room assignment yet.

After about a day...you'll forget you even have kids...:thumbsup2.

We did the same as you several years ago...if you like the beach...get off the ship in CC as soon as they allow...head straight to Serenity Bay. I think we were the first to arrive, and the last to leave...we were kind of hoping they would leave us there...was so peaceful...even eating lunch was so laid back and relaxed compared to the family beach.

You'll have a great time.

Thanks, I think we'll do just that! Twice! ;)

I just booked today for myself, DH37 and DD8! :cool1: This is more than we usually spend on vacation, I've done this a few times today. :scared1: We have NEVER cruised period, we are more "freestyle" vactioners, but couldn't resist the Dream! :lovestruc
