Quite an accomplishment! You SHOULD be proud. Sorry for the faux pas intruding on the 6 1/2 year relationship with her handsome fella, David. :lovestruc:

Unemployed college students - very true :rotfl:

Can you believe we are so close? :goodvibes: BCV/BWV pre-cruise people.... How about a meet on the 1st or the morning of the 2nd before the bus loads? We could meet at the Boardwalk.

Thanks! And no problem about the boyfriend.

We are up for a meet on the 1st. We will have our own car and will probably leave the Boardwalk around 8:30am on the 2nd. I always like to get to the port early.

Here is a pic of Paige (or noodle, or princess) and Noah - I will send you an email they can talk to each other with. Paige has Webkinz and the Tinkerbell fairies as well.

ok Scooter just let me know I need to go through photobucket to post -Never posted pics before I will work on that one later -

Congrats on the team winning and moving into 1st place!!

Favorite WDW Restaurant:

Me - 50's Prime Time
Brittany - La Hacienda (this is a new one)
Alyssa - she has 3
Counter - Cosmic Ray's
Table Food - Liberty Tree Tavern
Table Experience - 50's Prime Time

I do a spreadsheet too!

I am the planner for our group and do all the reservations. (I should be a travel agent:thumbsup2) They just usually show up where and when I tell them.

This weather is crazy!

Last week it felt like February and I was wearing sweaters.:cold:

Today it is going to be 90 degrees (August weather) and I am wearing shorts.:sunny: I'm definitely not complaining.

Saturday it is supposed to be back to 60 degrees.

I want to pack up my winter stuff but don't know if I'll need it again next week.:scratchin It's crazy!:crazy2:

At least we don't have the floods. I feel for all those people down the Mississippi - been there done that. Hopefully the floods are not affecting anyone on this thread.

Deb in IA - would you guys be up for a possible meet before the cruise sometime?

TOTALLY missed this - SORRY!

You probably think I was ignoring you, but I wasn't!!

We'd be happy to meet you! Do you all get to Iowa City much?

As for our pre-cruise plans, we are going to fly in the day before and stay at the Radisson at the Port. We have done this for our last several cruises, and it works great for us. We had thought about spending a day at WDW after the cruise, but I don't think that will work for us.

Anyway, sorry I didn't see this earlier. If you do get down here, let me know!!

Hi Deb,

No problem. I figured you probably missed it. I was going to post it again in a few weeks if you didn't say anything.

Unfortunately we don't get to Iowa City very often. We do like the Coral Ridge Mall though, so maybe once school lets out in June we can plan a shopping trip and meet for lunch or dinner. I will let you know when we have something worked out. If you have any plans to come to Cedar Falls let me know.

Hello All- Have I missed the post regarding how many people are participating in the fish extender. I would like to start planning treats.

Hello I am still looking for a buddy to introduce my daughter to before we travel. Hopefully they can exchange emails or chat online.

There is not much action going on in the Teen Forum.

We go to Coral Ridge pretty frequently too. Our son loves the Best Buy there, and our DD likes Old Navy.

I'm sure I'll do some pre-cruise shopping there, so let us know if you are going to be here, and we can plan something! June is better for us too - way busy right now! DD is in Finals Week at UI, DS has track practice and tonight his high school choir has their Spring Concert.

    DD Mackenzie 9
  2. Rlbren **Need Stateroom
    Ron
    Laura
  3. jham **Need Stateroom (Anniversary Couple)

I hope to get some more people participating. I've already started shopping and got some cool trinkets for Pirate Night. I'm also considering airline bottles of rum but I know Mike and Jeanne aren't interested.

I love Fish Extender Exchanges. It lets me plan EVEN MORE!:woohoo:

Sorry to be so dense, but what are these Fish Extenders? :confused3

The easy answer is it is some what like a secret santa. Below are 2 links from the DCL FAQ thread that should help explain Fish Extenders. We did this on our last cruise and had about 70 cabins that participated. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of neat gifts. We are thinking about doing it on this cruise but we are in a suite on deck 11, which along with deck 12 is only accessible to guests on those decks, I am trying to figure out if it will work.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!! Sounds like a great idea and a good way to get to know people.

Does this rule still stand:
The generally agreed rules are that you give out gifts to each participant once per cruise, and that the gifts should be very inexpensive trinkets that either fit a cruise or holiday theme and/or show off a little taste of who you are or the place that you call home.

If so, we may join in!
I was afraid that we would have to give EVERYONE something EVERYDAY - I have a hard time coming up with that many ideas!!

It really depends on what you want to do. Yes, the gifts are generally inexpensive and can be something you make or something you buy and are generally given only once on a cruise. On our cruise we got things like; music cds, pirate stickers, book marks, ornaments, candy, and tons of other fun stuff. Also, it can be just a gift for the cabin or something for each individual person in the cabin. I think it really depends on how many people you have participate.

Here are a few more threads that deal with FE gifts:

Just remember - they don't have to be homemade and they don't have to be expensive.

On our last cruise we participated, I got the kids little present bags (like you see when you go to a birthday party). I loved shopping for boys. I have none.

For the adults, we decided you were either "rummy" or not. The adults who chose to participate in rummy got an airline bottle of rum. The different kinds were fun to exchange. If you didn't like Rum, I opted for giving small scented anti-bacterial gel from Bath and Body Works as we were in the midst of the flu that stopped the boats from docking in Mexico so it was happily accepted. We got first aid kits, coloring books, stickers, beads and temporary tattos for pirate night, etc. We also got magnets on our door made especially for the cruise that we have on our fridge to this day. Since we were renewing our vows on that cruise, some gifts were wedding-themed. I even got something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. We gave out invites so everyone could watch us, drink champagne, and eat cake (YUM). I bought a fish extender online (I am NOT CRAFTY AT ALL) but you don't even have to. I'm attaching a photo of ours.

Inexpensive and fun and I'm only dropping off gifts once. I'm going PIRATE THEMED on this one! Its easy these days to find cool little trinkets for pirate stuff at party stores.

It was a lot of fun to come back to our room almost every day and see PRESENTS. Our DD (6 at the time) was especially pleased.

I've decided to "close" Fish Extender additions 30 days before we set sail. Some people are crafty and need time. Some people are headed down early (like us) and won't be online the week before we set sail (but I bet my blackberry will be on Disboards a bit).
