Happy Thursday Everyone!!!

Just giving us a bump since we had fallen to page 3.

Alyssa and I fly out to Virginia this afternoon for Brittany and David's graduation. I am taking my laptop and hope to check-in but if I don't get a chance to, I hope everyone has a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!!!

Congrats on graduation. Where in Virginia did they go to school?

Safe travels!

That's probably more pictures than you wanted to see but I have them, so I figured I might as well show them off.

Definitely not, I love pictures! You have a beautiful family. I will have to go see what photos I can dig up in photobucket.

way to go on the weight loss! :cool1: I wish I could say I'll look 50 pounds lighter than my photos!

We decided not to make any ADR's for the 1st so we are free to do whatever. I believe someone else posted that they will be at the Poly the night before the cruise and suggested a possible meet on the beach for the fireworks. Or we could have a later meet at the Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk or a lounge at BC for anyone who might have dinner reservations. Like I said we are up for anything.

We decided not to do any excursions on this cruise. We mainly did this cruise to check out the new ship and hit Castaway Cay twice. We have been to Nassau a couple of times and could really do without it so we are going to stay on the ship. We might get off to have lunch at Hard Rock but that is all. We have a cabana booked at Castaway Cay for both days so that will be all we will do. Just want to relax and enjoy the ship. We do have brunch at Palo on the sea day at 10:30am and dinner at Remy on the sea day at 8:20pm. We didn't want to do both of these on the same day, but with the dinning rotations this was the day that worked the best.

That was me that has ADRs at Ohana and suggested fireworks on the beach. I love a good DISmeet!

We have no excursions booked this trip. I'm sort of feeling like I might enjoy a nice lazy cruise.

Not many pics of DH and I alone! This is our family last October at DL. And yes, we occasionally like to be dorky and dress alike! :thumbsup2

Hi Scott,

Thanks so much!

They went to Roanoke College in Salem, VA. Brittany actually spent her freshman year at Virginia Tech but didn't like how big it was and David was going to Roanoke which she liked much better. She got into several MBA programs (VA Tech, ODU, and University of Miami, FL) and her and David have decided to move to Miami. He has a business he wants to open there so it will be an interesting summer.

Jeanne,

Great picture of the family at DL! I usually like to make shirts for all of us to wear for our cruises. It's torture for every one in our group but they usually go along with it. I'll post a copy of our boarding picture from the Christmas cruise when I get a chance.

I'll keep the Poly in mind for a possible meet.

Love the vow renewal picture! And congrats on the weight loss. I'm trying to lose some myself so I know how hard it is.

Okay, here is the boarding picture from our Christmas cruise. On the front of the shirts it says: 12 days of Christmas on the Disney Magic. Then on the back we listed some of the things we would be doing on the cruise. We also made another shirt that listed the dates and the ports we would be in on the back. It was a lot of fun wearing them.

Got to go pick Alyssa up from school and head to the airport. Talk to everyone later.

Thanks! I'm hoping to make some shirts for us to wear on our anniversary which is embarkation day. We shall see. The design is a bit complicated meaning I could totally mess them up.

Here is a slightly better photo of the kids from the same trip (at Goofy's Kitchen):

I got this from another thread but I checked it with DCL concierge and they said it is the information they have right now too. Of course, things can always change.

Our Cruise Itinerary and Dinning

Day 1 Port Canaveral Cruise Casual
Day 2 Castaway Cay Cruise Casual
Day 3 Sea Day Dress-up Night
Day 4 Nassau Pirate Night
Day 5 Castaway Cay Cruise Casual

According to DCL, the possible dinning rotations are:

1 - RP AP EG EG RP
2 - EG RP AP AP EG
3 - AP EG RP RP AP

Hope this helps.

This is very helpful.
So it looks like the "repeat" dining rotations are Days 1 and 5, and Days 3 and 4.

That will help with trying to book our Palo and Remy dinners!

I just love the orange shoelaces. Good photo. What a fun family.

Love all your pictures. I'm surprised that you found red dresses for you and the girls that are very close to the same color red. Not an easy thing to do.

How did you do your boarding shirts? I just told the family tonight I wasn't going to do matching shirts. DS (17) was happy. DH was sad. DD (16) wasn't home. Now I am rethinking the shirts.

Already started to think about door signs. I spend way too much time planning the cruise compared to how long I am actually on the cruise.

Congrats to all in your family. We will be just starting this process [going to college] in the fall with our oldest. I don't like this growing up stuff at all.

We will be just starting this process [going to college] in the fall with our oldest. I don't like this growing up stuff at all.

My daughter DD18 just finished her freshman year of college. She was only 45 minutes away and I still cried. But it did make her appreciate me even more. I have so many funny stories. The first few months, she would bring her laundry home because she didn't want to A. Share equipment with boys (they're dirty) and B. have anyone see her unmentionables.

Seems like we have kids of all ages coming. It may be nice for some of them to "meet" virtually before the cruise. I have DD18 and DD9. I saw a handsome boy on LeLani's post! And some sweet-looking future best friends for DD9 in Jeanne's post.

Hi Leilani,

Where in Iowa? Spent 2 years in Sioux city for graduate school.

Scooter

Hi Scooter,

We live in Cedar Falls. I love living here(except for the winters) but when DD graduates from high school in 3 years I have plans to move back to Florida.

Whooo hooo! More Iowans!!

As you can see, we are in Iowa City! LeiLani, we have been to Cedar Falls a couple of times for the State Football Championships at the UNI-Dome. This year, our son's school, Iowa City Regina, won the 2A championship with an undefeated season.

As for us, if you see a family walking around with Hawkeye shirts on, that would be us! We both work and teach there at University Hospitals, and DD is finishing her sophomore year there.

We are in cabin 9156. I am so excited now that our booking window finally opened (we are at the 90 day level), but was disappointed to see so much was already gone - only a few choices for Palo dinner and no tea or brunch, all the family cabanas gone. :guilty:

I was hoping for tea with my DD, who will be 20. She did not get to go last time. Oh well, at least she will go with us to the dinners.

And I am LOVING all the pictures! If I can figure out how to post a picture, I'll try to put one in of us.

Yeah, it was a tough search for the red dresses and Alyssa really didn't like hers all that much, but the pictures turned out great.

I know someone who does screen print and they do them for me. I tried a few of the shops in town but no one would touch anything with Disney on it.

I usually spend more time planning than on the cruise too. It's all fun. I don't know if I am going to bother with door magnets this cruise. They won't stick on the suite doors and two of the rooms in our group are suites. I might do a couple (especially for the other rooms) but not too many.

Yeah, it was not easy sending Brittany off to college. She moved over a 1000 miles away and it has been hard getting to see her the last 4 years. It was good for her though. I think it made her grow up a little and learn to do things on her own.

My oldest is a boy. He has been doing his laundry for a few years here a home. When it got to the point I couldn't figure out what was clean and what was dirty, I turned it over to him. At least he knows what the difference is in his room.

He starts a local college next year and he will stay at home for the first year. He applied late to the school he decided he wanted to go to and got
wait-listed. Not surprising since they only had 350 openings anyway. When he interviewed they had filled 300. We decided to defer going to that school until 2012 for a few reasons. So he will go locally which we are thrilled about for at least another year. The next college will be 8 hours away. :scared1: He's planning on going into unlimited tonnage marine transportation. Basically he wants to be a boat captain at some point. Who knew these cruises would be such a bad idea? :lmao: He is planning on working on smaller boats not cruise ships.

I'm not ready for any of this.:sad1: At least we can enjoy more time with him before he starts the rest of his life.
