August 19 2012 Dream 5 night Cruise!

Ok - It's official!!! We are booked for this one and will be our first cruise (well, I cruise on carnival about 30yrs ago once), but a first for DW, DS15 and DS11.

Talked to our TA yesterday and we were only loosing our $25 OBC for the previous res (Nov) since the offer is no longer available and had to be a new res since we were booking OGT.

But today stopped by the office and her manager helped me (TA was out). She called Disney, asked nicely and they did transfer my deposit, kept my $25 OBC and made sure they applied the $50 OBC for the Disney Visa. We had booked thru AAA during their May promo, and now getting a $100 GC instead of the $75 (since the price went up a little bit - old res was for 3 nights). Also getting the $100 photo package so very happy.

Only drawback was I wanted to use about $450 we had on rewards points, and realized our card had expired. Did not want to risk waiting a week to get a new card and chanced of loosing booking under OGT. I guess we'll use them towards extras and souvenirs.

So, count us in!!! We'll be driving from NJ in 4 weeks...

PS - need to change my signature now...

Welcome aboard!

We stop twice usually when we go down. The drive is part of the vacation for us. Probably at the VA/NC border and then around St. Augustine.

The way back, just one stop halfway thru, unless we stop at DC... Just started to look at hotels now...

For us, the ride is part of the trip to.... but our kids (23,15,15) like the driving straight through. The novelty of being in the car at 3AM sleeping, listening to music, watching videos... all that stuff is a real kick to them. We have gotten used to it. When we do it to WDW, we leave at about 4PM Friday and are at the parks at 9AM Saturday.

Besides, once you get past Fredricksburg, VA, as you know, it is an easy drive, especially at night. There is almost no one on the road so that makes it an easy trip.

Are you north or south Jersey?

Central :)

I do all the driving (and love it too) but do need the breaks..

So you have an hour on me.

My wife and I split the driving..... I drive till we get past the traffic (lower Virginia). She take over till we get to Georgia and then I finish up. She likes the midnight shift because there is no one on the road.

I'm glad there is finally a little more action as we get closer! Speaking of New Jersey, I just drove through it this weekend...LOL

I'm glad you guys were able to book, I am really glad that it is just around the corner until we set sail. 27 Days or something maybe? Whatever it is, I cannot wait! Now I just wish they would assign us a stateroom already...:rotfl2:

They're trying to find the best rooms on the ship for us; I'm sure of it.

I don't mind waiting to let them do their magic. :wizard:

Sounds good to me!!

The Dream is really nice but then so are the other ships. It's coming up quick.

Flying in from Texas!

Us too. Hopefully we'll escape this heat for a bit. I could use some ocean breezes.

Also from the DFW area and flying in on the same day, hope we don't regret doing it all in 1 day.

Our family of four just booked OGT last week. Waiting on room assignment. We just took our two boys (6 & 4) on the Magic in May. Loved Castaway Cay so much we couldn't resist booking when this deal came up a week before school starts. Yay!:cool1: We really wanted to come back for a summer double dip, never would have thought we could afford it. The Pixie Dust we received from our last FE exchange is still working it's magic. We signed up for this sailings FE gift exchange. Can't wait to sail.

Just booked this morning!! First time on the Dream, 4th Disney cruise!!!
Got a great deal....they are offering GTY rooms in most categories! This ship must be far from full!!

Welcome aboard!

With all the people joining I'd been thinking that maybe the ship was starting to fill up but I see they just brought back IGT rooms. They must be having a hard time selling this cruise. Are there a lot of schools around the country back in session?

Many schools go back early to mid August. I work at a school, but we won't start until Monday, Aug. 27. I miss all the orientation meetings.:cool1: Not too upset about that! Forgot to mention, we are 2 50 something adults.
