August 19 2012 Dream 5 night Cruise!

spiroff.natasha: I love the surprise! How are you going to tell them?

Disney has a free service where a character can call any phone # you provide (they also ask what time you would like to receive the call) and the Disney character tells the child(ren) once your kiddo is on the phone. We have the camera on standby, hopefully we will catch their reaction on video.[/QUOTE]

We leave down south on Friday. Staying halfway thru and getting to the port sat night. No wdw this time. Probably goto cape canaveral onthe return and then drive back nice and slow...

Will try to remember the meet...

So excited that we scored a FREE Stateroom upgrade! We'll now be getting a verandah!

There are lots of us on this cruise that got upgrades I think!

How do you get a FREE upgrade?

I have 2 inside rooms that I would love to upgrade if I could.... for Free!

Thanks

I'm suspect most of the upgrades are being seen by those that booked *GT cabins. We booked an OGT and got a 5C veranda.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

We had a Guarantted Ocean View room and when we were sent our room number it was a Deluxe with Verandah. We called to make sure we read it right and sure enough, we got really lucky!

Awesome! We are staying at Bay Lake Saturday Night! Maybe we will see each other lol ;)

Add 4 more people to this cruise. Wife and I plus our 2 children (12 & 9). We booked several months ago and just found this board by chance. Good to see there is some activity, but not to much activity. Judging by the numbers I see here and what I have seen on another message board this is likely to not be a max capacity cruise.

I did wonder about all the cabanas being booked. Maybe there is a large group we don't know about yet. I had that happen on a Carnival Cruise several years ago. Boards were quiet and everything looked nice, then we checked onboard and BLAM 500+ person family reunion. They had entire areas reserved and blocked for a good bit of the cruise. we survived obviously, but the noise level was off the charts throughout the whole ship. Another in a long liwne of reason we have never sailed Carnival again.

This will be our 1st Disney Sailing and it has definitely started off on the right foot. We booked a 6A GTY and were given a 5C when our luggage tags arrived several weeks ago. We even got lucky with a $100 OBC somehow. Wife and I have been die-hard Celebrity cruisers so this is a definite change, and so far between the many positive reviews and my Disney experience to date they might get a few more cruises out of me if they maintain this standard of service. Maybe I'm getting lucky because I was an Disney annual pass member for a few years recently, but I doubt it.

See you all onboard... in just a few days!

EDIT: Just found a website call cruisefishDOTnet which indicates the number of staterooms still available. Currently 54% of the cabins are available for purchase onboard. Sounds good to me!

Welcome welcome!! Glad you could join us! Just wanted to let you know if you were interested that there is going to be a small cruise meet up in the 687 lounge on embarkation day at 3:15 right before the muster drill ;) everyone is welcome, and I hope we have great weather and the 54% stays that way...lmao!!

Paul - when you get to the port, try to get pricing on an upgrade. Won't be free, but will be at a discount. The ship is still pretty empty.

Most of us booked either GTY or IGT/OGT/VGT and that's how we got an upgrade. I booked OGT and got a HUGE verandah at the back of the boat - cat 5E.

I did wonder about all the cabanas being booked.

There are very few cabanas to begin with, and they sell out right away.

Currently, I saw ONE available for the 2nd day at CC. We have until tonight or tomorrow night to get it. So those that got strapped for cash are now backing out of them.

But anyway, ship is pretty empty.

I will ask.

Curious... how much cheaper is booking IGT/OGT/VGT vs picking what you want? Do you pay the lowest rate for the category?

Thanks..

Did you get upgraded to a 3? 5 is not an upgrade I do not think.. I may be wrong..

Category 4C is a Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah and we were on deck 7. We are now upgraded to a Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah on Deck 11. I was soooo excited when I posted this I probably should have been more specific.
