August 19, 2007 Disney Wonder

I could be wrong but, aren't the gifts supposed to be a surprise? I thought that was why everyone was going to pm what they were thinking of bringing so there weren't many duplicates:confused3 It doesn't matter, it's all good fun!

I know that the rest will be a surprise, but the ones I mentioned are going to be for the 5-8 year olds. I am not sure - are they reading these posts too? If so sorry! I promise to be mum from now on. :rolleyes1 Just too excited.

I am very excited too. I just received my Passporter books and have been having a great time reading and doing more planning. They were a great deal! :goodvibes

I know what you mean. I'll also quote MK (dale-n-chip) "I carry my passporter around like a preacher and his bible" :rotfl:

i am totaly excited it is my first cruise and i love disney so i am so happy
does any one know how many days untill it?

Anybody want to share your door magnet designs or strategies? I simply don't have the energy to wade through the bazillion pages of that thread. :faint: Is it cheating to just ask y'all what you are doing?

And, yes, I do carry my Passporter around like my DCL bible. :thumbsup2 That way, if I have an urgent need to recite a particular passage, I can. "Passporter, 5th edition, page 163: The best time to spot dolphins. . . " :rotfl:

We'll be on board. We can't wait!! It's my DH and I and are 2 kids 13 and 9.
Has there been a meet and greet arranged once we're on board? Terri

Glad to have you on board. You can view the list of members on page 15. right now donald and daisy duck is gathering a list of members wishing to participate in a gift exchange for the fish extenders. Just send a PM.

MK--don't feel alone. We all carry it around religiously (pun intended):goodvibes

I added you to our list. There are about 86 of us on our list. Not bad. There seems to be alot of kids about the same age.

I'm working on a few now. Two are name designs that were sent to me from other creative DISers. Then there are 4 other designs, but I'm not sure how many I'll make. Two are of the Wonder, one is of Mickey drawing a Mickey in the sand. Can't remember the other one. one thing I did last time was got a piece of scrap book paper of the sea and beach with a palm tree. I cut out a small picture of the ship and attached it to the paper. I added a few words to identify the cruise. After I laminated it, I put some stickers that are on little foam pieces so they are not flat of Mickey and other beach things and added it to the scene. They turned out great. I did one that was an under water one with the characters snorkling and added some of those pop up fish.

Our cabin is at the end of the hall so not many people will see the door, so I don't think I'll go as nutty this time. The last cruise I ended up making signs for 4 other cabins. I made candy bar wrappers for Hershey bars. And I made a few Mickey pillow cases. (I can't even find material this year.) I just don't have the time to it all again. Plus I keep telling myslef it is only a 4 day cruise and not 7.

The newest thing I'm making for this cruise is a small flag (about 18") for the back of our lounge chair. Alex and I will have to find my husband and daughter after the fishing trip on Castaway Cay. I find it a pain to try and find them, especially if they are in the water or eating. Hopefully, this will help. I have the design of a Mickey pirate head that will get printed and ironed onto some lime green material. We'll see if this turns out?

Also, my children plan on participating in the gift (fish) exchange, but we probably won't have a fish extender. They are being sold on Ebay again for those of you that are interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Disney-Mick...ryZ20436QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Unless I am corrected, you do not need to have a fish extender to participate.

we bought magnets with disney pictures they have pictures of micky ::MickeyMo and miny ::MinnieMo and the rest of the gang:donald:

also we are going to either draw or print pictures and put them on this thing called color-a-mag and it has sticky stuff on one side so you can place your own picture there and a magnet on the other side. it is simple and fun so if you are interested in it, the brand is ProMAG.

I will try and post a couple of pictures of my magnets. I guess you really don't need fish extenders, but then where will everyone leave the little presents....:confused3 ....the fish outside the door is kinda small. BTW, thanks for the ebay link. I will check with the five (yes I said 5) other families traveling with us and see if they want in on the exchange and the fish extender. Thanks!

My DH is a Captain in the FDNY so it seemed only fitting to have this sign

Here is a copy of some of our signs.

Here is two of our magnets

this one I have yet to edit

I have found a lot of clip art that I have saved and have not yet turned into magnets. If any one wants me to post it I will. So that they can use it as a base to create from. The above are all designs from the DISign boards. I also have others from the DISign boards.

A friend of mine on the TGM boards designed this for me to use on a totebag, guess I could use it as a door magnet, too, huh?

She also sent this, just for fun:

The signs are fun to look at. I love seeing all the creativity. I like the green Mickey head paper. And Chuck, everytime I read your sign it reminds me of a rock band going on tour. Terrific. I hope lots of people make signs for their cabin doors. It reminds me of going around at Christmas time to see all the lights at night.

BTW..........about how many people/families are participating in the gift exchange at this time?

Wow.....

So I got busy and left the Board for a little while and an entire civilization appeared! This is getting really exciting.

Thanks to Dizzyworld for the list of everyone......and Donald and Daisy for the gifting....

What we did on the Magic 2 years ago was ask folks to bring a post-card or keychain from the town they live in.....so that the kids would exchange and get a collection from places that would reminfd them of the folks they meet. It went over well. We actually did the exchange at the first meeting at the Promenade Lounge...but we could do the fish extenders as well....it just seems that some folks are having problems finding them. It's not really very space demanding to pack 30-40 postcards.....or a dozen or so keychains...they work better for the older kids. My 8 year old DGS doesn't need a keychain...nor does my 5 year old DGD.

I am getting nervous about the parasailing. What on Earth was I thinking.....oh well......

I am still looking for another real pirate costumed person. My DW thinks I'm nuts....I have a real costume...even am bringing my boots from California to wear...and of course my wig....I even have a Parrot! C'mon out there....when else can you do this and get away with it? pirate:

3PM Promenade Lounge....excellent. We need to get Green Lais or something to ID our group.

I am actually looking forward to some time in adults only section....last trip, on Magic, just DW and I took DGS and DGD without their folks...and they NEVER let us have a minute....they went to the Club only with US! This time, I'm taking their parents to be in charge. The adult section is actually very nice (I Hear).

We are early seating as well, but of course will not know rotation till we board.

You are going to love parasailing. I've never read anyone who came back and said they wish they hadn't done it. I was feeling the same way last year. The only negative is you time in the air goes by so fast. I'd love to go again, but I'm fishing this year apparently.

I know what you mean about seeing the adult places DCL has to offer. It was on the 4th cruise that I actually saw the adult beach and some other places. My DH and I felt like we were dating again.

We had lime geen leis from the last cruise that one person organized and did a group purchase for about 100 of us. I was wondering if we could get lime green ribbon to tie to everyone's lanyards? Also on the last cruise a person made (blank) name tags that we pinned on out lanyards. That was helpful too.

So we (acman disneyfreak103 caligirl2011) made our fish extender and this is what it looks like we had alot of fun making it. Is this what they are suposed to look like?
