August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

It might also be that in Europe people eat much later. The average person eats between 7:30 and 8:30. You know the old saying when in Rome.........:lmao:

I guess we're european then... that's when we always eat around here. that's why we do late dining.

Hi guys

Well I am sat here feeling all smug. Did my 20 minutes. I took the dogs with me, but there is one fault with listening to it on the Ipod and following the music and guy pushing me on - they don't allow for picking up the poop stops!!!:rotfl:

In fact today I feel like superwoman. Full day at work, came home, collected dd from school, played shops, Simba and Disney Ships!!!!;) Listened to her read. Cooked her some tea, whilst she was eating done loads of ironing - next bath bed and book, although other half came in and took over the book, while I cooked dinner (veggie chilli), ate dinner, tidied up, took the dogs out (yes I know after a meal wasn't good, but when else am I going to do it?). Came back, had a shower etc., now sat in my PJ's PHEW!!!

I was just thinking my ankle held up well (I had a support on it) and it has started aching a bit now - I am going to see how it goes.

I think I need a holiday.

I agree Mindy, it wasn't too bad, nice to know not doing it tomorrow though

Whew! I'm tired just thinking about your day!

Good Morning

Weather slightly cooler today, which to be honest is a good thing. Everyone around has hangovers, because of the football win last night.

Sunday, England play Germany (do I really care? :rolleyes1). So the whole country will come to a standstill. OH made me laugh, he said that he made lots of phone calls at work while the game was on and everyone dealt with him very quickly and he got a lot of results with no holding on and being passed from person to person!!!

Settin Sail, from the Barcelona Hotel thread, We would love to meet up in the hotel. There are two bars, one upstairs on the roof - near the pool and sun loungers, the other downstairs in the lobby. Maybe we can plan in the evening, although if the last time is anything to go by, where a lot of us were staying at the Novotel, we sort of said, hello and goodnight!

We may even meet up in the lobby anyway if you are there earlier, our dd will be the five year old trying out all the 'spinning' chairs! When do you arrive?

Don't feel as bad as I thought I would today after the exercise - how are you Mindy?

Jel0511 I hold you responsible for all this!!!:rotfl:

Need to do some work, I intend to have a productive day today

We also had a long day of watching football over here in Germany yesterday, saw USA win in the final minute or so, very exciting so we missed the England game and then saw Germany win later.
Apparently the Germany-England rivalry is huge!! I don't really know a lot about World Cup but it has been fun to watch. Could do without all the noise after a German victory though...

We will be at the Novotel Mon Aug 16 and Tues Aug 17 so we could meet you either Tues morning or evening. We will probably be off sightseeing by 10:00 am so if you are arriving after then, we will just see you in the evening.
How are you getting to the port Weds morning?

Have a great day, everyone:wizard:

For those who have no interest in football, please scroll down now to the next post......;)

'Rivalry is Huge', what an understatement, the history, the history!!!! - every child is the England has grown up with this ongoing saga. A chant you hear around the stadium is 'two world wars and one world cup!'.... Not very politically correct :scared1:

Basically in 1966 England were playing W Germany (as it was then), in the final of the World Cup. Just before the whistle (1 minute to go), the Ref. awarded a penalty against England, who were 1 up. The goal went in and so the game went to extra time. During which England scored and won.

In later years, they met again several times, both sides taking turns to beat the other, but they never got through to the World Cup finals again, until 1990, when of course there was a huge rivarly.

This was an historic game, that went to extra time and then horror of horror -- penalties. Germany won, bascially because our best scorer, who wouldn't have missed any penalty, had been sent off earlier in the game, and the guy who replaced him missed, giving the win to Germany

Tears were shed, football scarves were burned and the memory lives on.......

Watch out for Sunday!!!! (although it isn't the final) Phew!

Sorry Shawn, to answer your question. We haven't arranged any transport yet, were thinking about a taxi. Llast time we had about 12 people at the Novotel, all on the Cruise meet thread, so arranged a minibus. We could do something similar if you like, but we may want to get there early, as if we get an inside cabin, we will try and upgrade again!

Need to wait until cabins are allocated, before a decision!

Thanks for the history on the rivalry. I knew there was something there-we watched the German game on Sky TV so we could tell by their commentary that Sunday's game was something BIG.

We will probably also be trying to arrive at the Port early. We will either get a taxi or if you know of something cheaper we could split, we would be interested. There are 3 of us.

I did my third today... didn't start until 7:30, was MUCH hotter than yesterday, and MUCH harder... I'll repeat this day on Sat and if it's o.k., I'll move onto week 2 next week.

Sorry about that! Where is the Sonic near you? Or did you guys come to mine on 27?

Good Morning

Sorry about that Kate! I told DH how I've inspired everyone on this thread to do the C25K workout, he can't believe it!!!! I have to believe it gets harder at some point....

mmm Sonic.....we are making a list of where we want to eat while we are home over the Summer, think I will add that one to the list.

Can't wait to have a good American burger and a steak (hopefully not at same meal!) And some good mexican food

It is going to be really hard to do any weight watching while we are in the States, we are thinking of maybe being "good" and eating at home Mon-Thurs
and eating out Fri-Sun whatever we want. Since we will be home for 6 weeks, I just hope I can maintain the weight I am now:eek:

Perhaps I need to look at that Couch to 5K program as well........:rolleyes1

I just do Yoga here and tomorrow is my last day until September:yay:

Where in the states are you from? Ie where are you going home to?

Ours is on 22 - it's relatively new....I was good and didn't order fries...just ate DH's LOL.....I can't win...

I would have thought the one near me is closer to you guys... I know where that one is on 22, but have no idea where you guys are in your town. The only thing I know there is Old Man Rafferty's. For future reference, you can take a left onto 518 from 206, take it all the way around to the end to 27 make a left, then it's about 5 min up on the left.

It's probably the same distance, your's may be a tinsy bit farther.....it takes me about 15 minutes to get to 518 and then probably another 10 to 15 to get there. Is it by the japanese place? We used to go to my gym at the end of 518 when the kids were little. I didn't know there was a sonic over there. We actually went to the one on 22 because my DH got off the train in Bridgewater and I picked him up there, so we were 1/2 way there to begin with.

I live a mile down triangle road (that's the cross road that OMR is on) and then 1/4 of a mile from there.

Where in the states are you from? Ie where are you going home to?

We are from Raleigh, NC. First we have an 11 hour direct flight from Stuttgart to Atlanta then about 90 min flight from Atlanta to NC.

Home sweet home where it is about 101 degrees today!
